  1. I think I would take a flier on a Villar / Broxton for Dozier type of move. Maybe they add a bullpen arm as well? Seems Miller / Dozier would be awesome offensively. Sure leave a lot to desire defensively but that would allow for defensive replacements late (Arcia). Just some thoughts.
  2. With the OBP skills, I expect he will stay up, and Sogard will be DFAed when Saladino is ready. Hope you're right I third this. The motion is carried.
  3. That was a horrible call upheld. Sure looked like the back leg beat the tag by a decent margin. Not sure what he was looking at.
  4. I really feel if he can stay healthy (that is indeed an if), Donaldson would have a very good second half and stretch run if he were with a contender. If that is the case, why not with us! He could be a real bargain compared to Machado as a left side of the infield rental. Still who knows what it would cost. If other teams believe in a rebound the bidding could go north of what the draft pick is worth. Would you do a Lutz or Erceg type for him? I would have to say I would.... just because of the dynamic he would add. Think of Cain, Yelich, Aguilar, Shaw, Donaldson.... then a Thames mixed in ... that’s a nice top 5/6

  6. To be honest the idea of Shaw at 2b and a Beltre or Donaldson makes me excited ... I’m warming up to the idea for sure... ever since I heard about the 2b and Shaw possibities etc. If the only move we made was something like that , however and not a starter as well, I think i would be disappointed. Shaw needs to get over his wrist thing and really get going here tho. Because when he gets hot he can negate the offensive warts we have.
  7. We sure do a bad job of being patient after walks. I wonder if there is a stat for ‘bad swings’ after walks or two walks in a row. Just feels we do so badly in those situations. As cringe worthy as Rock is, LaTeoy Hawkins is the other end of the spectrum. Always liked the guy.
  8. For as well as this team is performing .... The DL usage has been very strange this year. With lots of stretches short players. When your bench has Sogard on it and he’s one of the few healthy options, you are in trouble - and we have seen the rough patch we have been through. Ziga whatever not gonna work here anymore - was a bad choice and needs to depart as fast as he came. I realize we are what 14 games over .500, but if some of the black holes were taken care of (or at least something new tried) sooner, I wonder what position we would be in (as the Cubs have not been playing well either). We could be 5-6-7 games up right now. Hopeful Saladino gets back, Sogard gets out, Cain n Yelich get back... and DS goes and does some savy trades that nobody sees coming. And look out NL. We are in a great spot. A few holes but they have started to thin the herd finally this year. Should be a fun 2nd half.
  9. I feel like Guerra is their official starting pitcher, too Yea - this is his 3rd FB Live game isn't it?
  10. Nate Orf will lead off the bottom of the 10th with a homer to win the game. Watch. But seriously, how freaking cool would that honestly be? I dont care if he gets another hit ever, would be the neatest story line we have seen in a long time.
  11. Amen to all this. Sogard needs to go. Nate Orf - hopefully has more up his sleeve up here than 0-4's lol. We need some big splashes DS pleeeeease reward us kids with shiny presents this trading deadline , we have been good!!
  12. If Hiura goes for a TOR starter, and they get Dozier , think that outweighs losing a top potential guy like Hiura ? It’s intriguing at the very least.
  13. Originally my thought. But they need an OF'er , don't they? With everyone hurt.. we cant lean on Thames and Perez in the OF can we?
  14. Could this be the day that Sogard's last thread on his rope cuts loose? I hope Orf can provide some form of a spark. ANYTHING would be better from the last 2 games.
  15. Can we get a mulligan? Lol - maybe DS has a few too many and texted the wrong guy to come up?
  16. Zagcrapski . Anyone else see this going this way when you bring up a career 7 ERA guy?
  17. Arcia sure can pick it , but he’s worse than a pitcher at the plate Made the mistake of watching Brewers live today. Woof. Dario is horrible lol....
  18. I believe yes it does any time on the 25 man or the ML DL
