  1. I am pretty confused about the potential TPE, I didn't see anything from the beat writers on it. No one seems to know if they renounce it to sign Lopez/Hill or if it is about the order of operation with all these deals as they are completed(which I would think the Bucks could control). But I am starting to get how teams can keep adding multiple max FA's, there are about a billion ways to create space and if you aren't afraid of the tax there is always a way.
  2. If Brogdon didn't want to be in Milwaukee it's not the worst day for them. They did need to get some picks back even if they aren't great as they traded away a lot in the past couple of years.
  3. They're just worried about their profits. Milk the city for an arena and then leave them high and dry with a half-assed attempt at keeping a legit contender together. Yeah pretty lame that we just built them an arena and they have a superstar and they are still being cheap. I thought maybe building the brand up and winning titles would be worth it in the long run but i guess not.
  4. Yeah but I mean before they extended Bledsoe the Bucks pretty much had only Giannis signed for next season. Could they have traded for AD and signed KD? No, they didn't have nearly enough assets to trade for AD and even if they did, FA's aren't going to want to play in Milwaukee. I meant more from a salary cap angle but I could google it myself and figure it out if I cared enough. I just find it weird that these super teams can be built at all with a cap, I get the Bird exception for your own players but it seems like teams like GS should already be maxed out and already out of any potential KD deal but it still happens.

  6. That I dont know. I haven't seen this yet. I swear I actually had a whole list of teams and players that I'd hoped the Bucks would work out a sign and trade for Brogdon if he hit their "walk away" price. But I haven't seen who they're trading him for yet or what he is signing for. A first and 2 seconds from Indy
  7. They lost Brogdon and Mirotic, are they better or even as good today than that playoff team last season?
  8. It's not every other team. It's pretty much the Nets, the Clipers, and the Lakers. And the Bucks have a 24 year old Giannis. If you have trouble getting interested in the Bucks with Giannis, I just don't think this is the right sport for you. It'd be like being an Angels fan(but where a single player made a FAR bigger difference). Also, those teams had to tank for the most part and give players away to create salary cap space. And we didn't really overpay for Middleton. I mean, I dont think he's a max level player, but other teams were almost certainly going to offer him a max deal. So it could have been a day when other teams were getting better and signing Free Agents and we were losing two of our FA's to other teams. Instead, it's a day we signed Lopez and signed Middleton(though not officially just yet). Replace "sport" with "league" and I think you are dead nuts with that comment, I love college buckets. I just don't see how the Lakers can sign Lebron, trade for AD, and STILL clear cap room for another premier guy if they can convince him to come while the Bucks are (from what I understand) prevented from even bidding on those top guys due to the cap.
  9. How come it seems every other team is in play for all the top FA's but the Bucks have to settle for overpaying their own? Days like today are why I have so much trouble getting interested even with the Bucks contending.
  10. Double switch. And they still have Saladino available, whatever that's worth. Forgot about him and gamecast was wrong about Jeffress due up. Was more thinking about extras anyway but now Thames!!!
  11. I think it is probably lack of the track record that keep Boyd and Woodruff's values where they are. Keep in mind Woodruff was a good but not elite prospect, as hard as he throws his fastball it isn't unhittable like Hader's. The fangraphs article last week broke it down pretty well, his improvement has been throwing more two seamers and just generally having a better pitch mix. So it's not like he is a Strasburg type talent who is finally putting it together, he needs to prove it longer before teams are going to value him like a TOR starter. I do agree with you about what it would take for the Brewers to even listen to offers right now. With Boyd he has been a JAG starter before this year and doesn't have elite stuff either, I think they have his value just about right but I am just going off his stats I don't even know if I have ever seen him pitch. The K rate is impressive.
  12. Yeah, it's pretty tough to keep something like that up to date. But I do wonder if the values fluctuate as much as we think. Does a guy with Davies track record really become worthless after 3 bad starts? Not that anyone said that but I do think we have that sort of perception when players struggle for a period.
  13. FWIW values from the trade value site: Woodruff 29.5 Boyd 34 Davies 31.1 Woodruff's value has to be skyrocketing with every start but I would say these numbers are pretty up to date since they clearly reflect this seasons performance. No way I would trade Woody for Boyd, the years of control makes a huge difference.
  14. Keep Woody out there in the 8th, if he gets base runners go to Hader. I don't really want to see any other pitchers, last night sucked
  15. What I meant by far short was that the team ends up so crappy that Hiura being up those 3 weeks won't matter anyway, I didn't have any specific number in mind. But yeah if Hiura kept doing what he was doing, and he sort of did albeit in AAA, I think it could have meant a couple of games and that matters and might keep them from the playoffs. You may disagree with this but there is little doubt to me that he would not have been sent down and would have made most of those starts if Super 2 were not in play. What would have happened we can't know of course but my post was about whether the Brewers were right to send him down, that money could be a big deal a few years from now. Yes, if mine was a typical comment that has been bothering you I think you are probably reading a little too much into them. Am I really excited about this kids bat and maybe even have a little too high expectations of him? Of course. I am a Brewer fan, it's what I do.
  16. Not me, I am like an elephant. It could prove to be the right move if the brewers still make the playoffs or fall far short. But as of now the decision looks pretty bad, I think they gambled with the weak schedule and got burned. Careful, this comes dangerously close to suggesting that Hiura all by himself keeps the Brewers from suffering this tough stretch and I've been assured by those who know better that nobody thinks that. You got THAT out of my post? Geezuz I said I think it was a bad decision to send him down and I guess that is like saying he is the next Fred Lynn.
  17. I have said before I thought Peralta and Burnes should be starting in AAA but with JJ and Guerra's recent struggles and Houser being at least for now moved to the rotation we need to find some arms. I have more faith in them to improve than Williams/Barnes but none of the options are great right now.

  19. The bullpen needs help too and Burnes hasn't given up a run in 9 AAA innings. I don't really want to see him out there right now either but he has better stuff than a lot of other candidates we have, if he can put it together he can be an asset in the 2nd half.
  20. I was sort of wondering if they originally optioned him to AAA so they could wait and see if he got injured before getting his 5th year for service time in. Of course if it's major it doesn't matter but sometimes guys coming back from major surgery have other injuries that sets them back longer. Bummer for Jimmy.
