  1. It's a great class, a lot of that is quantity though. If you added the worst 2 of the 20 class to the Davison/Reuvers/King class it would probably rank about the same. A similar class that comes to mind was Vershaw/Kelley/Kowske/Linton/Wils, a lot people saw that final four team as overachievers but Vershaw really never hit his ceiling and Kelley never developed a shot. I remember some similar hype about that class when it came in.
  2. Yep, remember the would you take 1-1 thread? I am happy as heck to get to 2-0, I figured this team would take some time to gel so not too concerned. We seem to be staying pretty healthy so far too, injuries have really derailed the Pack in the past few years. The D played a lot better than the final stats show, letting Cook run wild over us was bad but he is really good.
  3. I knew that they couldn't just not touch him but with the time being so close I thought maybe it expires before the player is declared to have given up, in the end I am sure they were going to put the second back on no matter what though, it was clearly at :01 when he hit the ground.
  4. Pretty bizarre end to the game, if the Bronco defender doesn't touch him doesn't the game end? The receiver didn't really take a knee and we are talking about a half second, I guess I am not sure about the rule there.
  5. What a weird game, 5 points and 4 were on the called back TD and another because Diggs just can't help being a total richard. I almost wish they wouldn't have called the TD back so we could have won by 1 point. Allison had the TD but would have been the goat for the fumble and then not getting another first down. Alexander needs to finish those plays, really Cousins was throwing up prayers and they couldn't tackle Cook, that was their whole offense. I thought we were beat when the Vikes were pounding the run and got inside the 10 late, Cousins is the new Cutler, a loser.
  6. I am sure you are right, his "entire game" was a bad choice of words when I really just meant he is a declining player who has always gambled to get that first step. I didn't see that much of the Atlanta game.
  7. A week ago I would have said just put Woodruff on ice and get him ready for next year, now I think get him scheduled to be ready for the wildcard game. Pretty cool to be in it with a couple of weeks left for the 3rd straight year, would be REALLY cool to put a thumping road sweep on the Cards late for the 2nd straight year. I hate them, forever.
  8. Griffen's entire game is pretty much now just guessing the snap, great chance to get some free plays but not if you run the clock down to :01. One thing that worries me after the Bear game is the holding penalties. I remember seeing the announcement that the NFL was cracking down on it scroll across the bottom of the screen on ESPN and right away thought Bak and his outside technique was going to get hammered early in the season, sort of like Clay's "late" hits last year. Those are drive killers this offense can't overcome right now. The Packers played 6 DB's almost the entire game last week and the Bears threw 45 times. If we can stop the run playing that way all year this defense is going to have a big season, but it's possible the Bears just screwed up on their play calling. This should be a big test, the Vikings have good skill players but a crappy line.
  9. That over the shoulder fingertip catch on the long TD was the play of the game. Coan looked really good, CM clearly decided to make him beat them and he did easily. Really looking forward to the Michigan game, we will find out how real this team is in a couple of weeks. Right now they look like a 10+ win team.
  10. Just watched the highlight again, I think that was Preston Smith. I didn't notice Gary all night and he is not in the box score.
  11. Pretty refreshing to see the D win a game like that. In previous years I would have groaned when we settled for that late FG but I was happy when Rodgers scrambled to get us in better position. The Bears didn't have 2 scores left in them. Rodgers was sure rusty, I think clearly a half or so of preseason work would have helped but we got through it, another tough D coming up next week. The sacks on 3rd and long carried over from last year, teams are pinning their ears back because Rodgers always waits for the play downfield. Of course the Bears were all over the early screen and the quick pass to MVS so sometimes you have to tip your hat to the opposing D. RSmith is a beast.
  12. One thing that was really apparent is that Cephus just a couple of weeks back with the team is already the #1 guy. Getting him back is really a shot in the arm to this teams chances this year, he was emerging as an all conference caliber guy when he went down with the knee injury in 17. I like all the other receivers but I don't think any are on his level, maybe Pryor will get there.
  13. Yeah, and we have really had a long string of bad QB's recently so when Coan looks mediocre it's pretty easy to throw him on the pile. I was optimistic about him when he took over last season but he hasn't really shown much. Now that the defense had a good showing the QB position is even more magnified, with Taylor making teams stack the box and a deep WR core some good QB play could really make this a good season. But it's college, as someone else pointed out we almost went unbeaten with AH. I don't know how good South Florida is but I was expecting more of a 27-10 game. The announcers seemed to think they should be good offensively so the defense pitching the shutout was really impressive. Great start.
  14. You dare to question a line-up? Balls man, big balls... LOL yeah it has just been sort of strange the last couple of weeks with Braun and all the off days. I get he needs maintenance days but it's time to get going RIGHT NOW, not that many games left. Are they saving him for the playoffs?

  17. Braun out of the lineup again after playing one day in a row. I get giving Grisham some starts but we aren't quite out of it yet, I wonder if Braun's knee is bothering him, it just doesn't make a lot of sense to leave him out when he has been hitting pretty well for a while now.

  20. I don't have a horse in the 'team quit or not' debate, but hasn't like half of that Dunne article been challenged/debunked at this point? I know MM denied the massage thing, of course he would, and I am sure others who didn't look so good challenged it as well but is there stuff that was actually proven false? I don't keep up on Packer news like I used to. Things brought up like the team quitting, MM's teams being soft, and the front office too focused on non football stuff and the brand fit into opinions I had before so of course I tend to believe it.

  23. Well, that's your opinion. I thought it was obvious at the time they laid down both times he was out long term and I wasn't alone in thinking this. Sure we all thought the talent level was a little higher than it was outside of QB but it doesn't explain why the entire team turned into the Cleveland Browns. Especially the first few games without him there was a drop off in play in all areas in my opinion. I did forget about the NE game the Super Bowl year but he was only out for a game and a half. They did lose to a bad Detroit team the game he got hurt but that is probably expected. From the Tyler Dunne article this offseason: When Rodgers missed seven games in 2013 and nine games in 2017, the player remembers teammates outright quitting. "That's when the real coaching, the real identity, the real character came out of everybody," he says. "I saw that guys give up when we don't have a star quarterback. I see guys aren't going to give it all when their backs are against the wall." https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2828649-what-happened-in-green-bay
