  1. Chase? Davies? Thames? Who is there for the NLCS!!!
  2. It seemed easy too, felt like he could go 6-7 if it was a regular season game. Amazing job and amazing team. Thanks Wade!
  3. I agree with the call to send him out there with a few seconds left, but disagree with the previous two FG attempts. He wasn’t right today. The coach has to recognize that. The coach also has to play the long game and the situation of the game. Chances of picking up a first down with 15 yards to go aren’t great. You hopefully get Crosby out there and he boots one thru making it a one score game with plenty of time to get the ball back. And you show faith in a player you trust. He had missed 4 easy kicks and it was 56 yarder, I would take my chances with 4th and 15 even if it was FG to tie at that point. It seemed kind of dumb to me, almost like trying to save Crosby's confidence more than using common sense. Didn't see the end but glad he finally made one.
  4. http://goatdee.net/467117/watch-milwaukee-brewers-vs-colorado-rockies I am watching here but there are pop ups, etc to navigate at first
  5. I have a direct TV account in Florida(not where I am) and can usually watch stuff like this but MLB.TV(roku) says I need to be a subscriber, no option to log in with DirectTV account that I can find. Anyone else have a Roku like this? Foudn an internet feed but would be nice to have it on my TV Edit, found a place online to link the accounts but apparently my directtv account doesn't include the MLB channel? I had no idea. This sucks
  6. Basically a turnover. Football used to be by far the top spectator sport to watch for me. Now with replay, late and inconsistent penalties I can't even celebrate good plays anymore. Cripes I watched the replay, headed to the kitchen to make sandwich and THEN hear about a penalty.
  7. He is not but our scheme isn't fooling anyone anymore. Basically just wait for Rodgers to make a play and when he is not we look terrible.
  8. Oof. This stinks. And now I have 2 hours to kill before the Brewer game. I think MM has to go, this franchise is always a couple of years behind realizing this stuff but he has gotten stale. Rodgers terrible too but this team just looks poorly coached and has for a while. Still at .500 even with a loss but this sure doesn't look like a contender to me, plenty of time to turn it around I guess.
  9. The super pen certainly isn't new to playoff baseball but I wonder how sustainable combining it with serviceable 5 inning starters like we did this year in the regular season is. Good bullpens always seem like a house of cards to me unless you have like 3 consistently elite guys and they can be as tough to find as TOR starters. Things are going great until Axford can't get his damn off speed pitch over, even this year we had the wheels come off for Albers and Knebel and had to trade a prospect for Soria. Knebel's resurgence has given us 3 guys again and has been key to this playoff drive, and that seemed unlikely in mid August. This was touched on earlier with the "if I had Hoffman and Rivera" comment but my feeling is the super pen strategy like we used it this year might produce more up and down years vs the traditional building around a stable of quality starters. That said hard to argue with the results right now and we are always at a disadvantage in the stable of starters market unless we develop our own. I guess what I am saying is I think a TOR starter or 2 is a nice compliment to a super pen.
  10. That was really weird, I was watching FS1 on my Roku so assumed it was just because of watching through the internet but seems like everyone else had the same issue. It's not like FSN doesn't televise every game so I don't know how they weren't prepared for the lighting at the park and they couldn't adjust in 2 games? Miley has surprised us all year hopefully has one more in him. Will Peralta be used today or are they saving him for a potential game 4?
  11. I do seem to enjoy the post game time after a big game win a lot more than watching the game itself. Like the OP said the 2014 NFCC was a turning point for my sports watching as well. I just didn't want to keep getting so wound up in the results that I couldn't control. But suffering through those lows are also what makes the highs so sweet.
  12. I think a portion of the bar crowds for Brewer playoff games are similar to the crowds that gather for the US in world cup matches. Just an event that doesn't come up very often so a good excuse to go out and party with friends at a time you usually wouldn't. Milwaukee is a great baseball town but baseball in general can be a front running sport, especially for small market teams that suffer more down years, attendance numbers are all you need to look at to know that.
  13. They also seemed to switch to the Rockies' local station for the post-game show on FS1. For those not watching the Brewers are apparently om the ropes
  14. You know he’d be game for it. Probably should have sent Braun on the Moose hit the way we are hitting with RISP
  15. Yelich has 2 fly balls with no home runs, that's a bit under his season average I think
  16. A clean single to RF and not scoring is crazy. What am I missing here? Nothing. He was actually rounding third when it was fielded by the split replay. Easier than a sac fly
  17. I am counting 0-6 with runner at 3rd less than 2 outs including Perez getting in rundown(so 0-5 officially). I am still baffled why Perez didn't score on the hit to right.
  18. I must be missing something because it looked like Perez was rounding third when the it was fielded, it was deep I thought he scores easy.
  19. Me too but both Aguilar and Moose reacted like they thought they might be too
  20. Tough couple of days with runners on third less than 2 outs, you would like to think you can get at least half those guys in.
  21. Things worked out pretty well for us schedule wise this year, the one time we played a long stretch of games the pen did breakdown a bit and we didn't have the stopper to bail them out. I remember Nelson throwing a complete game last year at a key point where the bullpen was totally gassed, we don't need a rotation like the Mets but I still believe it really helps to have that one top guy going out every 5 days. Stating the obvious I know but just to make a point about why have an ace I would sure rather have deGrom than Chacin going for us today, even with all the days off in the playoffs I am a little nervous about all the guys we used for more than 1 inning yesterday and I don't see Chacin going 6-7 on short rest. Would be great if the offense could make it easy on us after the pitching carried things yesterday.
  22. Same - guess we need some grit in the lineup for game 2. There was a stretch where Perez was hammering lefties and it made sense but he has been struggling, watching him yesterday I am not sure he should even be on the playoff roster but we should be used to it. Counsel likes him, hopefully he will hit one out today.
  23. Peralta will get to around 150 innings this year and was already in the rotation for a good stretch. Burnes and Woodruff will only get about 120 but Burnes pitched 145 in 2017 and Woodruff 158 in 2016, does only 120 this year set them too far back in potential innings for next year? I really don't know. At some point you need to go with these guys or package one or 2 of them in a trade for an ace. But I do think they will have to earn it spring training so you have a point on the risk of letting Chase go, most likely only 2 of these guys start in the rotation. I am just not sure that these 3 guys are that big of a risk compared to the guys we threw out there this year, not that they were bad just think we could use some upgrades.
  24. I think they have already said Burnes will be in the rotation and it also seems like the organization is high on Peralta as a starter going forward as well. Woodruff isn't so clear but it is maybe telling that he was out there yesterday and Chase/Davies were not. There is a lot to shake out with the pitching in the offseason, how this post season pans out will probably affect decisions as well. It sure is nice that the farm is finally churning out some good pitchers though.
  25. I feel like Peralta, like Hader before him, is good enough already that you don't mind completing his development at the major league level. Burnes and Woodruff are more polished but I think all 3 will be in the rotation to start next season unless one or more is traded. Walk off wins on October are awesome!!!
