  1. The Saints last night were easily the worst offense we have seen all year but always nice to get a shutout. Love had a few too many bad throws, I don't think it was the weather but maybe. He didn't trust himself to pass up the sure thing underneath for a potential TD to Watson on 4th down, that was sort of odd as he saw Watson for sure. Hope Watson is OK but it didn't look too serious. Huge game next week, we cannot get swept by both Lions and Vikings.
  2. It just occurred to me that with Rhyan and Enagbare stepping up this year the Packers now have 6 starters (Quay, Watson, Rhyan, Doubs, Tom, Enagbare, and RWalker) from the 22 draft. And Wyatt probably gets more snaps than the starter Slaton. Especially impressive since they probably would like to extend 4-5 of those guys and the team is 10-4 with Super Bowl aspirations. Nice job Gutes!
  3. LOL Well, I didn't say anything about Rodgers mentoring a young QB. He is waaay past having any reason to get offended by his team drafting a QB. At this point I think he just wants one more shot and it's hard to see that happening anywhere else than with the Jets. If it's not the Jets he will probably stay home and hope for an injury so he can come in and be the hero.
  4. I was just looking at a mock draft and Raiders and Giants look like they will snatch the top 2 QB's so there may not be one worth picking at the Jets pick. If that's the case I would bet on Rodgers being back there one more year, especially because Adams likely stays with him. Of course it depends on how the new GM and HC(and owner) but why blow it all up if you don't have another plan in place? They have some talent and have lost a lot of close games, even if they find a QB to draft give it another year.
  5. I know Rodgers seems to be campaigning to return in 25 lately but I wonder if his and Cousins play this season might mean the end to vet QB's getting big money. In fact, maybe there is a small shift away from everything being about the QB. Vikings are getting great play for like 12 million out of Darnold, Packers and Lions QB's are among highest paid but both seem better as more complimentary players on well balanced offenses than guys who put the team on their backs. Until this season's team collapse Purdy was doing the same. Dallas, Cinci, Jax, Mia, jets all out of it with high paid QB's. I am not saying we are going to see QB salaries drop but maybe we are reaching the top of how much cap teams are willing to invest in one position?
  6. The Chargers would seem like a good fit. Betting on Harbough getting them over the top is as good a chance as most and they could use a #1. They have the QB and of course Adams is a California guy.
  7. I didn't catch it until watching highlights today but Davante caught TD #100(and 101), a big number that likely cements him in Canton and the Ring of Honor. Will be interesting to see what happens next for him, he wants a ring and his next team is likely his last chance.
  8. I had to chuckle when they listed PFF rankings in introductions and Myers ranked 41 of 41 for centers. He is worse than the worst starting center in the league. I don't think he gets an extension, looking forward it will be interesting how the oline shakes out next year. It has been very good this year and should be a team strength going forward. Great job by Gutes.
  9. I like where we are at, Detroit has a meathead coach and a collapsing defense and are going to be under a ton of pressure with expectations. Vikings just feel like overachievers to me. Philly is a tall order but if we get Jaire healthy for playoffs and get out of wildcard round I think we have as good as shot as anyone.
  10. Like others have said I wanted Devin gone, I am just one of those guys who won't ever forget that 3 run homer. A good lefty starter and a prospect just fine with me.
  11. I don't trust the defense at all but this is on the offense and Love will have to lead it back.
  12. SF still might make a run in that crap division but I don't really disagree. I just think it will seem different if we win tonight, especially if Detroit looks bad for once.
  13. While it's obviously a long shot at this moment I think if we gave Detroit a wupping tonight our chances of passing them for division will seem a lot more realistic. Detroit has Buf, Chi, SF, and MN left, I could see a couple of losses in there. The Packers winning out is not very likely either but things have a way falling your way if you just keep winning down the stretch. I am sort of expecting to win tonight too, feels like the pressure is off a bit and Detroit is really overdue to slip. Even with Jaire and Doubs out we are a much healthier team right now, you would think that would be the difference.
  14. One of those weird games that seems huge but has a good chance of ending up relatively meaningless. I was at that miserable rainy game a few weeks ago so would love for the Pack to stick it to them in Detroit again like last season. The line has moved from 5.5 to 3.5 with the Lions so banged up. Pound them with Jacobs and get TD's when in redzone and we should be fine.
  15. Both Walker and LVN have stepped up the last couple of weeks which is great to see. It wasn't too long ago that I questioned whether either should even be on the field. Maybe we need to be more patient with these raw athlete picks.
  16. The Lions look unbeatable and are pretty clear favorites in NFC but I am holding out hope they could go 0-4 on aggressive 4th down plays in a playoff game and get bounced. That would be so sweet. I like that the Packers have sort of been in the shadow of the Vikings and Lions all year. We have some things going for us, MLF teams finish strong in regular season and we are relatively healthy. Clean up the mistakes on offense and get Jaire healthy. Then get out of the wildcard round and let's see what happens. I would agree it doesn't feel like our year but the Packers have fallen on their faces in years when it did so many times maybe we are due.
  17. Ha well I didn’t say they were bad, they have their moments. 🙂
  18. I know it will never happen but wish we could stick Willis in with a lead late like this. Just give the running game another dimension and we want to run. Love is a turnover waiting to happen right now.
  19. Another game where we will have to make a FG in the end because the D is mediocre and the offense makes too many mistakes.
  20. It was tough finish of the half to stomach but we should be ok. Just stop screwing up.
  21. I thought he was gone late last year but he came back and made huge play in playoffs, just need to get him healthy if we make it again. Purdy and Bosa out this week doesn’t hurt our chances.
  22. Has anyone seen anything on if the overall int percentage is up sharply in the NFL this year? It's not just Love and Mahomes, seems like everyone is throwing a lot of them. Even Goff had 5 picks a couple of weeks ago. I can't seem to pin it down in google or find anything that says they are up but anecdotally it seems like we have them every other drive these days.
  23. I have been thinking they may try him at DE next year, not sure if he can add much weight to that lanky frame though.
  24. I watched that play a few times now and the snapper didn't even attempt to lift his head up, like they were hoping for a penalty if something went wrong.
