  1. If they don't convert the game is over down 3 scores. It's pretty bleak for them anyway but that was the right call, they are fighting for their playoff lives right now.
  2. Boy I thought for sure when they went to break that we were going to be punting when we got back, figured the Bears saw he was out. Huge drive after the stop.
  3. Why wouldn't it be grounding if he has hold of his arm? I guess I sort of view like a ball that gets batted down but it sounds like I don't know the rule by the other reply.
  4. What a dumb ending to that half, how is it grounding when the guy has a hold of his arm? Adams was out there and that it didn't get to the LOS was because his arm was held. Stupid of Rodgers to let it get to that point anyway. Same old crap, 3 times we got inside the 50 with no points. hopefully we can gut out a win again.
  5. C'mon Rodgers take the first down, that's a huge play, stuff like that is why we suck on 3rd down
  6. You would think they would start mowing down the more beatup teams down the stretch but it actually seems like they are getting a bit worse. Hopefully today the healthier team is the difference.
  7. Wow, I don't think I have seen that replay in about 25 years. I forgot how long it took and how the announcers talked like the game was over for a few minutes. I also thought it was more controversial, he was clearly short of the 14, maybe the rule wasn't the whole body had to be over the LOS like it is now. Thanks for posting that, happy memory. As for this week not feeling great about this one but it's at home, hopefully Trubisky goes back to sucking.
  8. King out with a shoulder injury, I knew he wouldn't make it all 16 games.
  9. The holding call and subsequent missed FG were killers, can't let them start paying downhill and that was the drive where we could have stalled their momentum. Tough loss after the great first half.
  10. I think he was trying to avoid the ref who was running into his path
  11. Just have to go out and beat Ohio State and let the chips fall where they may. Things may look a little different if we actually do pull off the upset, especially if we can win by a couple of scores. Everyone just assumes they won't that's why there isn't much talk in the media about them.
  12. Gah! A 3rd Baylor OT win would have been perfect.
  13. The Tax Slayer Bowl? https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/28221695/college-football-bowl-projections
  14. For sure, the committee is not going to devalue the conference title when both teams have one loss to the other, badgers would be in for sure and so would Georgia. The B1G has 6 teams in the CFP top 20 and the SEC has 5, no other conferences really comes close to them. Really in that scenario I think both Wis and Ohio State get in and LSU and Big12 champ are left out. I think Wisconsin would have a really good argument against Baylor if they were 4/5 after today but I expect the committee to avoid the controversy and use the 2nd loss as the tiebreaker.
  15. OK, rereading I don't think you post was about Badgers fans not respecting OSU. My response was mostly about the 10 win motivation thing, there are only 3 conferences that play 9 games plus a title game and that is a very recent development, about 6 years for the PAC, 4 for the BIG, and even fewer for the Big12 I think. It's sort of like being the first team to go 6-0 in the NFC North, it's one of those things that is brought up when it happens but I wouldn't be surprised if OSU isn't even aware of it. I did suggest maybe OSU would peek past this game but I doubt it, even a top program like OSU still cares about a conference championship game. I don't really question either teams motivation, just looking for an angle as a 17 point underdog to give me hope.
  16. [sarcasm]If only the badgers were aware of this a couple of years ago, that extra motivation may have got them over the top.[/sarcasm] I don't even have to look it up to know that the opportunity to accomplish this is a recent development and is still limited in scope. I don't know, maybe you were joking. There is plenty of respect for OSU in this thread.
  17. Definitely a little nervous about what we are sending back but getting a catcher who put up 2.1 WAR and 22 HR's is a pretty big get for this lineup.
  18. A couple of selection sundays ago everyone was sure a 2 loss OSU that got trounced on the road by mediocre Iowa was going to get in over 1 loss Bama and 1 loss UW. It didn't happen but I remember the committee pointing to the ugly Iowa loss as a big factor. The Illinois loss wasn't as bad as that and was sort of a fluky 1 point loss. I also wonder if the string of Bama/Clemson games could force them to evolve a bit, they have the conference champion criteria thing in their back pocket that they could use if they wanted to mix things up. I know losses are the only thing they have consistent on as a tiebreaker but it is still early in all this. It can't be said enough, 8 teams with the power 5 champions all getting autobids makes so much sense I really can't believe they don't do it, it really expands the playoffs beyond those 8 and creates a ton of meaningful games late season.
  19. Well I guess if that's true then IF Wis and Oregon win then the Badgers would need 2 of the other 3 games to fall their way and that would seem like about a 49% chance. I guess I will be rooting for the Ducks friday night to keep us alive, kind of surprised they are underdogs but I know nothing about those teams except the Oregon QB.
  20. There is probably about a .1% chance of that happening, but if the Badgers do get an unlikely blowout on Saturday, it would probably be very difficult to keep them out of the playoff. They are eight right now. Even if they blow Ohio State out. Oklahoma and Baylor play each other only one of them can lose. They're not going to jump Oklahoma, who I think is going to win that game. LSU will beat Georgia. For the sake of argument let's assume Oregon beats Utah. Then let's assume Clemson by some miracle loses to Virginia. A 2-loss Badger team, even with a blowout win over Ohio State still isn't going to jump a one-loss Clemson. Even if the Badgers beat Ohio State 50 to 7, and everything else falls exactly how we needed it to happen, last Saturday was where the things that we needed to happen went south. I thought maybe their one path left was possibly jumping one loss Baylor(along with a couple of other games going our way) who is only one spot ahead of them but the 538 thing doesn't seem to think so. Weirdly if you pick the Badgers and Oregon to both win they put the Badgers at 49% to make it. I don't see it, and none of the radio or media guys I have heard seem to even talk about the Badgers having a chance other than mentioning the blowout possibility.
  21. You don't get a lot of rematches in college football so I am hoping the Badgers are better prepared for what's coming Saturday. I think it will be closer and OSU just might be peeking past this game. 30-27 Badgers hold on with a late turnover.
  22. Alabama dropped to #5 after the loss to Auburn and needed Wisconsin to lose to move back up. I think Utah gets in over Ohio State in that scenario, there is no reason OSU should lose to the Badgers as 15-20 point favorites. If they do it matters and they will need a little help IMO. It's not like the BCS where a team could not be mathematically jumped due to computer rankings.
  23. I'm not positive that's automatic with Clemson, but you're probably right. Their SOS is truly terrible this year, but they're Clemson. If Utah, OK, Clemson, and LSU all win isn't OSU out if they lose? At least 3 of those 4 are favorites.
  24. Penn State. They would end up ranked ahead of us, that should be all the Rose Bowl needs if they want them over us.
