  1. The hype is real as it should be. My hope is just that fans have some patience. Not saying that I think he’ll struggle by any means, but, say he spends most of 2024 in Milwaukee, it’s entirely okay if he does not put up a 20-40 season as a rookie. I think that’s what many expect at this point and maybe it happens, but it will probably take some more development at the big league level. Can’t even put into words how excited I am for him just as a person. Very kind individual.
  2. Chourio is also headed to AAA, but that doesn’t eliminate the possibility of Clarke moving up as well.
  3. It seems that Carlos D. Rodriguez and Max Lazar will not be joining Nashville. The organization is content with the solid seasons they both put together in 2023. That narrows things down somewhat. Look for one bat (likely Clarke, but possibly Chourio) and one arm (likely Meeker) to join Carlos F. Rodriguez.
  4. He is indeed. Chourio, Clarke, Carlos D. Rodriguez, Meeker, and Lazar are also being considered for a promotion. Of course, not room for all of them however.
  5. I have heard that SS Eric Brown, Jr. is also headed to AA Biloxi. Trying to confirm that at the moment.
  6. RHP Shane Smith has been promoted to AA Biloxi after an outstanding first full pro season to this point between Carolina and Wisconsin.
  7. Not sure about anyone else with Mudcats/Rattlers, but I have heard that there have been discussions about Logan Henderson moving up to Biloxi once playoffs are finished since he’ll miss the opportunity to pitch for the Rattlers this year.
  8. Unbeknownst to me until today, Garcia also had a brief promotion to Nashville in 2022.
  9. My sincerest apologies, a lot on my mind at the moment. C Jesus Garcia was also released, not Jesus Parra whom was released earlier this season.
  10. Also released today was 1B Jesus Parra. I believe there are still more names to come, unfortunately.
  11. CF Luis Medina has been released.
  12. I’ve heard rumblings about first base, second base, and corner outfield spots, but he isn’t particularly suited for first with his size and his problems are not actually with the glove, it’s his arm. They are going to continue to give him reps at shortstop and third base while working on bringing down the throwing errors. At this point, while individuals in the organization may have other landing spots in the back of their minds, the focus will remain on sticking on the left side of the infield because his glove is honestly pretty strong and he has good strength in his throwing arm, just needs work.
  13. Fourth Brewers (kinda) prospect in the last decade to pass away by my count. Donny Everett and Charlie Donovan (2015 draftees, did not sign), Andres Melendez (2017 int. signing), and now Familia (2015 int. signing). Four young, talented individuals taken too soon. Of course, one is too many. RIP Aaron
  14. Add this to the Michael Mediavilla, Leoni De La Cruz, Kent Hasler (etc.) mystery reliever release list. All I’ve been told is his injury wasn’t too serious, at least not career-threatening, and he has been a great guy in the clubhouse.
  15. Unfortunately, I don’t have much to share at this point, but I’ll see if I can find some of that info for those interested.
  16. I believe he’s already been told, pending his health, that he’ll likely be participating.
  17. Suffered a non-displaced hairline fracture on his left scapula on July 1st. He was expected to miss about 8 weeks with the injury.
  18. Fun to think about it and I’m a huge Miggy fan, always have been, but the 2023 brewers are a few notches below even the 2003 Wild Card Marlins no matter who they bring in at the deadline. I wish it weren’t the case, but this offense, even with the talent on the pitching staff, isn’t capable of making it past the first round of the playoffs.
  19. Personally, I would swap C-Rod with Gasser although I like his stuff as well. Have to believe Luis Lara and Yophery Rodriguez are in consideration for the last few spots too.
  20. Going to ignore the article and just post my thoughts here. Say the Brewers were to handle Chourio this year the same way that they did last year. That would mean he is coming up on another aggressive promotion to AAA in the near future. Say all goes well with that promotion and he is holding his own or flourishing with Nashville. If the organization was to follow last year’s playbook, he would be rewarded with a short cup of coffee in the majors at the end of the regular season. I think that’s what many fans want and what some expect at this point. Personally, while I would love to see him in the majors as a teenager for the pure accomplishment that is in itself, that is not what I envision or want, quite frankly. If I were Matt Arnold, Tom Flanagan, and co, I would like to see Chourio get nearly a full-season in AAA. This isn’t because I think it’s out of the realm of possibility that he is that talented enough to make it to Milwaukee by the end of the year or because I think they need to hold him back. Rather, I would like to see him promoted to AAA in the next few weeks, play out the season there, and come back to start 2024. That way he isn’t being overwhelmed by the admittedly crazy levels of “hype” surrounding him at the moment, he grows into his body and abilities even more (crazy right?), and comes up (hopefully) as an impact, everyday player when the team is playing (hopefully) meaningful games in mid-Summer rather than trying to fit him in at bats in mid or late September with Yelich, Wiemer, Frelick, Perkins, Taylor, Mitchell (possibly), and whatever other impact players they are going to acquire, fingers crossed. Chourio seems to thrive with mid season promotions and better competition so, barring a insanely huge spring performance, let him get a third and final opening day in the minors in 2024 and you have yourself an impact bat to add to the lineup when the trade deadline rolls around next summer when he’s undoubtedly ready as a still baby-faced 20-year-old instead of trading from the outstanding depth in the organization for a player that likely isn’t as talented as Chourio. Or just keep him in AAA for three of four years, right @clancyphile?
  21. Chourio’s ceiling is beyond Justin Upton without a doubt. For all we know, Chourio could end up having a better career than Acuna. That being said, if he turns into a Upton type of player, you cannot possibly hope for more out of a prospect.
  22. Fitzpatrick underwent TJ surgery in 2019-2020, but I believe he avoided going under the knife while dealing with his latest elbow injury.
  23. As evidenced by his continued absence, Severino has been dealing with lingering issues with his sprained wrist, but it is still seen as a short-term absence, nothing more serious going on. They are taking things week-by-week at this point to ensure it is 100% when he returns to game action.
  24. Honestly, if they sign fifty 16-year-olds for $1 million a piece and get one Chourio or Quero out of it who turns into a star (not a sure thing, but they’re on their way), it is completely worth it. Regardless of anyone’s feelings on the matter, that’s the truth.
