  1. Agreed, I hope they keep him around as a coach going forward. Suter is awesome, he pitched just fine today. Alvarez has hit ~ 50 home runs between AAA and Houston, so not that big a deal giving up a homer to that beast of a hitter.
  2. Exactly.... Bad managing. He did K him the first time, but yeah.
  3. Dude relax.......he's great....I'm sure the Brewers will call....but we ain't signing him.....he will get a monster deal...... Reverse of the trade for the 30’s ace with a couple years left on his deal. Sign to 7 year 210. 30/Yr. for 2 years of age 29 and 30 Cole, with the Yelich window, then trade. Might have to eat $ to trade, maybe not. But, to me, it makes more sense to pay a little more for the peak years, if needed.
  4. Worth the 32+ mil. a year the first 3-4 years of his 7 year contract. Suppose we could trade him after we win the World Series with him next year.
  5. Houser could still be having issues with his hip, last 2 starts command not there.
  6. Rasmussen line: 3 ip 0 r 0 h 1 bb 5 K’s He’s dominated AA hitters this last month, interesting to see what the brewers have in mind for him moving forward.
  7. Yes, for sure. Not much opportunity for him to move up in the Yankees organization, not with their stacked bullpen, and they weren’t gonna add him to their 40 to protect him rule 5 wise this offseason, Yankees really need the international bonus $, so just a great trade by Stearns. I think there going to drop another off the 40 for him(Saladino?)And bring him up.
  8. Hadar, Claudio, and Guerra seemed to have found their magic again. Hadar has control of the slider, Guerra the splitter, and Claudio his location. Albers and Pomeranz have been ok too. I think it comes down to Black, Peralta or Nelson, and Faria. Can they give CC some meaningful innings and keep the Crew in games. Time will tell. I’d break it down like this: CC go to with a lead of less than 3- Guerra Claudio Pomeranz Hader Lead of less than 5- Guerra Claudio Pomeranz Jackson Hader Prove it- Nelson Peralta Suter Albers Black Mop up- Faria
  9. Then on to the crew, to help us get to the playoffs. Just like Grisham (225/288/437/724) and Devin Williams (4. ERA/5.22 FIP) have led the march to October. Grisham’s ready, little slump, that’s all, he’ll bust loose. Williams doesn’t look ready.
  10. The past doesn’t amount to a hill of beans. This massively injured brewer team is coming together, and their beefed up September pitching staff, Suters aura, and Yelich’s bat, at worst, are gonna make things interesting this last 26 games. I want to know what you're smoking. They've "beefed up their pitching staff"? LOL. The only guy I'm expecting to see good things from is Woodruff. Nelson didn't show anything that made me believe he could still be a Major League pitcher again. I hope I'm wrong, but you're seriously overvaluing the arms coming up to Milwaukee. It’s more Guerra Hader Pomeranz Claudio Jackson pitching as well or better than they have all year, then adding 3-4 MPH from Nelson with a months worth of good outings in AAA, and Peralta regaining his control, adding it all up > really good bullpen. Not to mention Suter not giving up a run in a months worth of pitching in his just completed rehab.
  11. Stearns knew what he was doing with this trade. Pomeranz alone, imo, makes this trade. Black is the bonus. Hoping to see Pomeranz signed, and back next year in our pen. Trust Stearns discernment on the prospect Dubon. Great trade.
  12. The past doesn’t amount to a hill of beans. This massively injured brewer team is coming together, and their beefed up September pitching staff, Suters aura, and Yelich’s bat, at worst, are gonna make things interesting this last 26 games.
  13. Then on to the crew, to help us get to the playoffs.
  14. If you look at the pitchers currently on the roster, the Brewers relief pitchers were tied for 5th entering today with a 3.49 ERA (13th for FIP, 6th xFIP). That does include the relief innings thrown by Houser which is helping those numbers, but also the relief innings thrown by Anderson which is hurting them. Anyway, point is that the Brewers have used a lot of relief pitchers who have given up a lot of runs, but that the current group has been pretty good. And about to get better imo. Guerra Hader Claudio Pomeranz Jackson Nelson and Peralta are all pitching as good right now as they have all year, albeit Nelson Peralta in AAA. Then Suter can start and give us 60-70 pitches and or pitch long relief. If Houser is ok, this team can win with pitching.
  15. Agree here. Counsell even mentioned him by name after yesterday’s game, helping to keep the team loose.
  16. Be a lot easier to get to the playoffs if Yelich would go off again, carry us there again.
  17. I’d say we’re overdue on an extended lucky streak, plenty of bad bounces, bloops, bad calls, etc. that haven’t gone our way, in fact, I believe we’re due at least 21 bloops to fall in just out of the reach of 3 players converging, this month alone.
  18. Maybe Saladino will be back, at some point?
  19. This was widely known weeks ago. Stearns gave interviews stating they were looking at mid-September at earliest. Brewers need to be careful with their ace. Yes, I said to '92 that there was a good chance he wouldn't pitch again for the Brewers this season. The timeline they gave was a near best-case scenario. There's absolutely no reason to throw a guy out there with a core injury that hasn't healed yet. That's almost the ideal way to make a guy start to alter his delivery and rotate less, put more pressure on his shoulder and then we'd have people saying that not only should the Manager go for letting him pitch, but everyone should go for ruining our young stud. I am resigned to the fact we’re probably not seeing Woody till the playoffs, per Counsell’s words. Starting vs Strasburg or Scherzer would work for me.
  20. No rehab starts available with his injury probably sealed the deal for this year. Gave everything he had for this team. Can’t picture him pitching late in games vs us. If he doesn’t sign with us at a lower price, hope it’s an American League team.
  21. I should have figured something was up last night. Didn’t think anything of it. Dah.
