  1. On Sunday when they pinch-hit Aguilar for Woodruff in the 8th I was vocal with my displeasure of this call. The guy in the row in front of me didn’t like my attitude and said to stay positive. I said “I’m POSITIVE Aguilar is going to strike out here.” Four pitches later Aguilar struck out. It was awesome. He's so bad I would rather see Hernan Perez at first. At least Prrez will hit .250 with some pop and give you above average defense. The other option would be to move Braun to 1B again and play Gamel everyday. Or yet another option is to go get a real first baseman that can hit.
  2. Listening to twins announcers, color guy is jack Morris, he’s great, informative beyond anyone I’ve ever heard before. Twins fans lucky to have them.
  3. Exactly, too much. Stearns is gonna make big time changes to this offense as we get closer to the deadline. Pitching will carry us threw till then.
  4. I wonder if he wanted to be in Minnesota? He chose to sign with Minnesota, so what do you think?
  5. But what if the improvement is marginal at worst and huge at best? Kind of like what we ended up with Schoop? Well, actually, the improvement was far less than marginal, it was non-existent. Schoop didn’t want to be here, he’s an idiot. I would imagine Smoak would be happy to have an opportunity to win.
  6. But what if the improvement is marginal at worst and huge at best? Don’t think anything is gonna happen trade wise for a while so we’ll continue to see what our guys do.
  7. Or trade Aguilar to a rebuilding club that can play him till he hits again, he would be a rebound candidate. I would also trade Thames, we have plenty of players that can play first to cover for injury. I think we would all be deeply disappointed to see what Jesus brings back in a trade... Your probably right, but then again who cares, we’d have first base for the rest of this year in good hands, and next year Stearns can get us another.

  9. Jacob Barnes stuff has regressed since his peak which was first half of 2017. At that time his stuff rivaled that of Corey Knebel, FB 96-99, good slider, below average command. His stuff nowhere near as good now but has a little better command. Jacob’s issue is between his ears. I think his days with the brewers are over unless catastrophic injuries occur. I’m hoping we can trade him as opposed to releasing him.
  10. Excellent information. Unfortunately there are teams in the American League that need first baseman, Houston and Tampa bay among others. I hope the report of stearns talking to Toronto last month lead to something being done sooner rather than later.
  11. 1-8 the cubbies have no peer in the central. 1-5 good but not great. Bullpen has improved and will get better with maples now establishing himself, Morrow expected back at some point and a deadline arm. They have 2 major weaknesses imo: 1.) pitching depth or lack there of. Chatwood and Montgomery and then nothing, 7 deep, that will be tested. Bullpen, even with maples and chatwoods emergence still is not deep. 2.) Past prime pitchers in Lester Hamels Darvish Cichek that will regress or get injured at some point in time, I believe a couple will this year and that will keep them from overtaking the crew.
  12. Legit to win their pathetic division, absolutely. Run differential a different story when 70+% of games played against the worst teams in baseball. Again, look at their record vs average to above teams.
  13. They won’t win the central but they will be the road team in the wild card game vs the cubbies.
  14. I'm guessing the weather played a role in it. Its just "another" game to the local Twins fans, so I'm thinking many just stayed home. For us Brewer fans over in West WI and MN, its our only chance to see the Brewers this year, so we chanced it. I joked with my boys that we should go sit behind homeplate because half of the seats were open. The weather will be much better tonight. Weather is a factor but twins fans have not been showing up most games. Despite holding the best record in baseball at one point they had seen the 5th biggest drop in attendance from last year and are 12,000 people per game lower than the Brewers! If you watch their home highlights most games are around 50 percent or less full The bump in attendance doesn’t happen til the following year past an unexpectedly good year. Season ticket packages, group sales etc. so expect next year’s games at target to be a tougher ticket.
  15. The American League this year is a big fat joke. The Twins are nowhere near as good as their record, 2 games UNDER vs teams .500 or better, 21 over vs the horrible teams. Put them in the NL Central and they don’t even make the wild card game. Why is no one talking about this is staggering. 100+ home runs against the worst pitching staffs in baseball? Overrated. And the Yankees can thank their lucky stars that their schedule has been even easier than the twins, hard to believe, but true, so even with their record breaking amount of injuries their second team still better than their opponents first team.
  16. Ok, most on this site agree with you, so what exactly does Burnes need to work on in AAA? To me, he looks better right now than he did last year out of the pen, a tick more on the FB if nothing else. Well, he's not supposed to be a reliever for one. So qualifying it with he looks better out of the pen just skips over the fact that he failed badly as a starting pitcher. But I think everyone's pointed it out. His fastball location has been bad this year. That's why he's got an ERA just shy of 10 now and that's why he's giving up HR's at a ridiculous rate. I don't know how you can say he looks better this year in any way than he did last year. Agree, starting he was a disaster, but of 10 relief appearances he’s only had one bad outing, albeit really bad, the rest good. Maybe the crew believes, as I do, that sending him to to AAA again not needed and the brewers, like I, think he can help the pen big time moving forward.

  18. No on the bear, pitching terrible. Colome will be very expensive prospect wise and salary. Just sign Kimbrel. Costs only $. and we’d get him for 2 1/2 years. $$ is the problem in signing Kimbrel. He reportedly hasn't backed off his demand of $15.5 per yr on minimum 3 yr. deal. I don’t think it’s the problem most think it is. So if it is what you say, I read 3 at 15 per, but instead 3 at 15.5 then great, that’s roughly 10 mil this year, and we have him for our next 2 years window. But that’s just me, with the crew generating record profits this year and all mlb teams getting an extra 9 mil next year from fox and another 8-10 mil the following year with the new turner/ espn deal so that’s an extra 17-19 mil per year and that doesn’t include the crew’s new local deal for next year, and Braun’s 16 mil off the books, so they CAN afford it IF they think he can be a difference maker.

  20. Not sure we have the prospects or the desire to give up what it would cost to acquire those type of reliever, instead I believe if we don’t sign kimbrel, we have Rasmussen Sanchez that could help, or maybe we acquire a Soria type arm. I believe we go offense at the deadline.
  21. Agree with your assessment, overwhelmingly weak in the position player ranks, but pitching a little stronger.
