  1. Because of Aguilar and Shaw this team needs to add a professional hitter or two.
  2. None of our hitters can hit Velasquez’s FB. Not seeing it for some reason, swinging when the ball already in the mitt.
  3. Drew Rasmussen would have been a possible top ten draft pick if not for his injury. We really don’t have a pitcher in our organization that profiles that highly. Perdomo’s first appearance in AAA was his only real bad performance of the year, giving up 5 runs in 2 innings, since then he’s been great again. His command is the only thing keeping him from MKE, and it’s slowly improving.
  4. Brian Anderson is one great announcer, Lepay is good, but not in BA’s league. His Encyclopedic knowledge is astounding and given in a way that’s always interesting. I don’t live in Wisconsin anymore, so I’m forced to listen to the home teams announcers and I have say he’s the best there is.
  5. Without seeing Rasmussen yet, that’s a tall order. K-Rod has a slider that was the best I had ever seen, and he was throwing straight gas when not many guys did. Tall order yes, but he’s already done what no pitcher in baseball has done this year > low A to high A to AA in a little over a month. 96-99 with a plus slider gives him more than just a chance.
  6. After reading the comments of Counsell with regards to Nelson, not happy that one of the reasons given to optioning Jimmy was they didn’t want to disturb the rotation. Whatever with that, hold back a pitcher that can help improve the rotation, just because you can’t tell Chacín or Anderson your going to the pen to help improve the overall pitching staff. Chacín should give way to Jimmy, he’s pitched poorly this year, and the fact he’s still in the rotation and Jimmy’s not is disturbing.
  7. Well now I know why they have him on 5 days rest between starts, must have planned this all along, to slowly go to 4 days for a certain number of starts before bringing him up to the big club.
  8. Really? .260/.376/.902 36 runs. 13 HR 34 rbi 29 bb. 36 ks Ops+ > 146 Edwin Encarnacion ^^ 29 walks and 36 ks = professional hitter ^^ 2017-2019 stats: Edwin Encarnacion, .362 wOBA Eric Thames vs. RHP, .366 wOBA Danny Valencia vs. LHP, .353 wOBA (This is actually an unfriendly data sample for Valencia, whose has a career .371 wOBA vs. LHP) Meanwhile, Encarnacion is a DH-only player who shouldn't really be playing in the field. Encarnacion play’s a more than passable first base, is on pace for 40 home runs 100+ rbi and Valencia hasn’t played at all this year. You don’t think Stearns hasn’t checked out Valencia already?
  9. [dt][/dt] I think it was obvious to to just about everyone that Schoop did not like getting traded, leaving his buddies, on the worst team in baseball to a team with a chance to win a World Series. His body language, besides his performance, was abhorrent. There’s a reason Stearns took the unprecedented step of publicly bashing himself for bringing him to the crew. As far as the Twinkie’s are concerned, someone has to bring them back to earth, it might as well be us. American League is so bad, outside of 5 teams it’s hard to gage how good they really are.
  10. Stearns said yesterday morning that last night was his final rehab start, that they would huddle today and decide what to do with jimmy. Reading between the lines, maybe some in the organization think bullpen, others, the rotation. I believe it’s the rotation, with Chacín or Anderson to the pen. maybe they want to see Anderson start one more time before they decide who to the pen?
  11. Shaw off to a bad start in his rehab, 1 for 9, with 3 Ks. Thinking he might be down there a while. He’s been too good a hitter to not eventually hit again right?
  12. It’s been 622 days since he last threw a pitch in the big leagues, so yeah, I’d say he’s ready. Is it gonna be tue night in Minnesota or Thur in Pittsburgh?
  13. What the heck is up with Forest Whitley? Top pitching prospect in baseball coming into the year, having a horrible start to the year.
  14. 1.) Drew Rasmussen > like K-Rod for the angels, won’t be able to resist bringing him up to fill a need. Initially will use him as multi-inning pen arm(40-50 pitches)3-4 days rest. Potentially an opener too in the playoffs. 2.) Miguel Sanchez > quietly having a good year in AAA. He’s been pitching high leverage innings and opening for the missions. CC must like him, pitched him an awful lot in spring training. 3.) Angel Perdomo > Command is slowly improving, this is another potential big time weapon from the left side that unlike Claudio can get righty’s out and pitch multi-innings. I went with pitching because I believe Saladino would be up before Dubon and Peréz would play the outfield if injury there.
  15. 31% in, and some observations: The playoff teams are pretty much set imo: Dodgers Brewers Braves Cubbies Cardinals 1.) Dodgers- astounding depth and the best hitter. 2.) Brewers- will improve more than other teams. 3.) Cubbies- 1-8 the best, lack depth. 4.) Braves- great manager, chemistry, will improve too. 5.) Cardinals- great pitching depth, potential scary pen. 6.) Rockies- just miss. 7.) Phillies- bad Chemistry, bad manager. 8.) Reds- big time sellers at the deadline. 9.) Pirates- Hurdle best manager in baseball. 10.) Mets- bad manager, snakebite injuries. 11.) Padres- 2 years away. 12.) Nats- worst manager in baseball, big sellers. 13.) D-Backs- overachieving their talent level. 14.) Marlins- Organizational pitching best in baseball 15.) Giants- 5 years away.
  16. Hoping Turang keeps raking, would love to see him in Carolina before too much longer.
  17. Kimbrel. Because, imo, it will take a 3 year contract to land him, and it fits our window perfectly. Nelson Woodruff Anderson Burnes Davies Rasmussen Peralta Perdomo Wahl Jeffress Knebel Hader Kimbrel World Championship Pitching staff.
  18. DiPoto isn’t stupid. Their team since the fast start is one of the worst in baseball, they are going nowhere this year. He swapped one 20 mil contract for another In Santana, so I’m pretty sure he’d have no problem trading Encarnacion, but I also don’t think it’ll be a salary dump only trade. He’s having too good of a year, with a great pedigree to dump just to get rid of his salary. My proposal if the trade happens before July: Encarnacion + 5 mil > Aguilar
  19. Really? .260/.376/.902 36 runs. 13 HR 34 rbi 29 bb. 36 ks Ops+ > 146 Edwin Encarnacion ^^ 29 walks and 36 ks = professional hitter ^^
  20. Come on, let’s go easy on the Chase non-love pitching out of the pen. His later appearances were better than his earlier, so I think just needed to get acclimated to pitching out of the pen. His k/9 bb/9 better out of the pen, FB a tick higher too. But I like chase as a pitcher period. Whether it’s in the rotation or the pen I don’t care. We both like Burnes for probably the same reasons > potential/great stuff/bulldog mentality among other things, I just think he’s fine right where he’s at.
  21. I assume that you're given up on Corbin Burnes then as well, right? If you're willing to declare after two very productive seasons, his first two seasons getting regular playing time, that Jesus is so awful that he provides absolutely nothing to the team, then surely you must believe that Corbin Burnes is done. We might as well just dump both of them. I believe Aguilar hurts the team IF he’s not hitting home runs. It’s my opinion based on his powerless batting up to this point in time. What scares me about him is he’s not even powering the ball to within 30 feet of the warning track. Stearns isn’t impulsive like I am so there will be more time for him to turn it around, same with Thames, I’m just not confident in Aguilar to do that. Burnes pitched well THIS year when moved to the pen, he’ll be fine, todays outing better than last Friday’s debacle, so he’s moving in right direction.
  22. Both teams with abysmal pitching today. But we have Hader so we can end on a good note, I hope.
  23. There's almost no evidence to suggest this is true. Correct, it’s just an opinion, made with nothing but eyeballs.
  24. Rather be Lucky than good. Really Lucky sequence there with the foul ball and cross up strikeout bouncing right back to Grandal.
