  1. Woogie, you are a sight for sore eyes.
  2. Sheets and Woogie return the same week. Coincidence? I think not.
  3. Yep. And I'm still stuck here at work having to read the freaking IGT that way. Ah well.
  4. Here are some real horror stories.
  5. Worst collapse in Brewers' history, no doubt...but I'd assume we're only in the high Top 25 for baseball history, if that.
  6. I just pieced these together as one and emailed it around to family and friends Well done guys, I'm ready to hook up the four-track and record it
  7. Yep, my choice too--fantastic start and then a steep, sharp decline to nothing.
  8. Nothing says biggest game of the year like Craig Counsell in the lineup
  9. The Giants' stadium people really rammed that joke into the ground this past weekend, playing it after he struck out, etc. They played it once between innings as he was headed to the field on Sunday and I looked and saw him jokingly doing the swinging "robot arm" to it so at least he has a good sense of humor about it. Of course, it was right before the bottom of the 8th, so maybe it got to him after all.
  10. This is pretty much dead on except I think the steps started much later in the season...like the second Ramirez hit that walkoff in late June...anger was later that week in Pittsburgh
  11. Amen. Then again, if Jesus Christ showed up at the game to sing TMOTTB and wore a Brewer hat, they'd boo Him, too. It's just what Cub fans do. To be fair, the majority of the NSBB guys thought it was lame, too. So, uh, I take back my vent about chopping off poor Ronnie's arms http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/eek.gif Strange and pathetic that it takes Ueck getting booed to get me the most riled up I've been all season.
  12. Strange thing is, I actually thought of Ian Dury right away but knew that, uh, that definitely wasn't him. I'd have never gotten this though, I'm only familiar with one Blockhead: http://www.decaturdaily.com/decaturdaily/livingtoday/060413/one.jpg
  13. I believe this is the 2nd or 3rd time he has sung the anthem at Wrigley. And he always sings "root, root, root for the Brewers". I'm not blaming Uecker for doing that, but I think any fans in any stadium are going to take offense to that. He's sung there more often than that, and he always does the old variation of "root root root for the Brewers/you do the same for the Cubs"...anyway, they were at him well before that. I'd be embarased if us cheesers booed Ernie Banks (who I think is the Cubs' equivalent in terms of being a kindly old-timer who repesents the fun of the game) at MP, whether it's a pennant race or not. Instead, these drunk Chads were high-fiving each other about how awesome it was.
  14. Right now they most remind me of the '03 Royals A frightening prospect.
  15. A little baseball-related Japanese weirdness
  16. Melvin will be here for at least another year...he'd essentially be getting fired for the Linebrink trade, and while it really stinks right now (and could get much worse), it just doesn't strike me as a fireable offense right now. Who knows what options he had on the table otherwise? Yost is as good as gone if the Brewers aren't playing in October, though.
  17. Somebody just told me that the Cubs fans really gave it to Ueck tonight. Pathetic. Go Cards. I bet there were a lot of shirtless dudes with backwards Illini caps high-fiving afterwards: "Yeeeeeaaaaaah, brah!" I'm glad I didn't actually hear this, I might've been inspired to have gotten on a plane to Chicago to go chop off Santo's remaining limbs and cram one down his throat and throw the other over the ivy into the beer of some loudmouth from a crummy Northwest side suburb.
  18. I'm not normally given to these feelings or pronouncements, but I really feel like tomorrow is a must-win. It makes me angry to even have to think that.
  19. Did somebody just threaten to punch someone for not staying positive? http://www.piratesplunder.com/images/products/flags/Beatings_450.jpg Anyway, I was watching the Yost/Linebrink meltdown on a big screen at AT&T Park tonight before the Giants game and I felt like hitting something, too. If I'd have been at home I'd probably be getting fitted for a cast right now after trying to take out my living room wall.
  20. Somebody always gueses Andy Patridge in these things! Too much hair to be Barry Andrews, too!
  21. I was just about to guess Pete Shelley
  22. I knew I should have clarified the wording on that since I knew that was the answer...I should have asked what he was more famous for Just looking at his age and that hat and the singer-songwriter-with-a-guitar look and with the clues I keep wanting to say Robyn Hitchcock but Hitchcock is way too WASP-y to be this dude
  23. I wouldn't make it that easy... I don't know, most people wouldn't be able to recognize him from most angles these days. Was this person in a group or a solo performer?
