  1. Well, it seems to be easier for them to try and change identity to help with marketing than to, you know, put an actual good product on the field! What a disaster the DRO has been. Edit: What Sheethead said.
  2. Well, I'd heard that changes were to be made, including dropping the "Devil" from "Devil Rays." These supposed new logos are so drab and unprofessional looking that I wouldn't be completely shocked to find that they aren't official (and nothing has gone up on the Rays' website yet) but I saw this here: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2631077 I kinda like the home uniforms, but they should have stayed with green. http://ft.mirror.waffleimages.com/files/e9/e9c8432bd52ef4e8749e6ce9ec2081a536a97aed.jpg http://ft.mirror.waffleimages.com/files/72/721197a13bf32781bd1710213564079681ab6a98.jpg
  3. Congrats. At the very least this is the greatest possible distraction from the Brewers missing the playoffs.
  4. Thats what supposedly got Yount to rethink his position. Really? I hadn't heard this before. I'm not saying it's wrong, and certainly wouldn't be shocked, but where did you hear this?
  5. I'd feel much, much, much better giving Wise, McClung or Cappy the ball with a one-run lead on the road in the last half-inning against the bottom of the order than I would/did about Cordero watching any of them from the bench while the game is tied in the same situation but with the heart of the order up.
  6. Well, it's no different than when they had Dusty, I suppose...I felt like Baker gave the Brewers an extra win or two a year. Why wouldn't they eat it up with a spoon?
  7. The NSBB guys love him: http://www.northsidebaseball.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=44193
  8. Shades of Hardy's sac bunt in the 9th in Chicago three weeks back. This loss feels very similiar to that one.
  9. This loss tonight was really huge. It's too late and the stakes are too high for this garbage. From the IGT tonight, jrdave2304 wrote: "assuming the Cubs go 5-4, which considering who they're facing they should at least do, we'll need to take 3 of 4 from either the Braves or Padres, at least split the other one and sweep the Cardinals (because it's hard to see us taking 3 of 4 from both the Padres and the Braves considering the aces each team has). we really need some help from the Pirates, Marlins, and Reds " We'd need to go 8-3 to win the division--if they go just 5-4. If they go, say, 7-2 (entirely possible) we can only afford one--one!--more loss if we want to win it outright. Bugger. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/indifferent.gif
  10. I'm kinda mellow on tequila and grapefruit soda right now...all I can do at the moment is shake my head and laugh at Ned's moves tonight. Tomorrow though I'll probably be raging with the force of a hurricane. These were season-ending and job-losing moves tonight, folks.
  11. Regardless of whether the Brew Crew makes the playoffs this year, I really love the way they have hung tough and responded to adversity the last few weeks. I really thought they were cooked physically and mentally at the end of August. For such a young team, that is a really satisfying trait to see take hold.
  12. My prediction for the Crew's final record is on pace to come true...unfortunately, they now need to go 8-5 in the toughest part of the schedule in what was my most optimistic prediction, and now I'm not convinced at all that 84 wins will make the playoffs.
  13. Agreed, this thread was a complete failure the first time and I'm not happy to see it on the front page again. Of course, I'm not helping by bumping it here.
  14. Her performance was just terribly awkward, but I thought she looked good.

  16. Fair enough, but it really blows my mind that the RMN editors allowed Lincicome to even intimate it.
  17. If the Cards are gonna win the division, they will really to have earn it during this last stretch...on the road against Arizona and the Crew (although we know how that went last time) plus a makeup game in New York against the Mets during the last week, and home against Philly, plus five against the Cubs (one in Wrigley). Toughest schedule of the three teams, I think, but I really hope they can and will take at least four of five from Chicago. That would be huge for the Crew's chances.
  18. RayKingsForemanGrill wrote: "Is it wrong that I am overjoyed that my username and Ray King jersey now have more meaning than ever!?" Heck no, Ray Ray was always a favorite of mine during the really dark years and I'm glad to have him back for what will hopefully be an entertaining and successful September.
  19. Plesac would look good in a Brewers' uni again and probably be more effective than half of our pen. Sad thing is I'm only half-joking.
  20. Somethin's cookin' http://www2.jsonline.com/sports/brew/image/2001/spring/grill0304.jpg I like the move if used right
  21. We're not even close The team record may be shattered though
  22. If "asleep at the wheel" equates to not making questionable deals (of which he's already made one this season), then I'm OK with that. I don't think Trachsel would have been a bad pickup for the Crew, but at what price? (Especially since we've already coughed up a couple good pitching prospies this season)
  23. Always hard to call a 2-run first "disappointing" but there you have it. Let's get 'em Manny
