  1. Gerut has performed better than TGJ over the long haul, and at the least has done better than Nelson did in his time here this year (I'd hope). I'm comfortable he'll adjust to coming off the bench and will return to mean.
  2. I went to Remetee's website, and I've gotta say, I found some of the shirts pretty cool. I've always been given to louder patterns though, and maybe I've been in California too long. It's just not my thing, though--I also find these kinda ballcaps cool-looking: http://kazowie.com/img_temp/lg_a2146247_.jpg but haven't kidded myself into thinking I can pull it off. Similarly, I like a cool pattern on a collared shirt, but about as loud as my t-shirts get are patterns like this from Brooklyn Industries: http://www.brooklynindustries.com/brooklyn/images/swatch/1218135309789.jpg And what it comes down to is, however nice it feels/looks, I don't have the bones or inclination to drop $80-$120 on a t-shirt. That's just me, though.
  3. Man, I thought Brad Nelson was given a short stick around here. Gerut's been a Brewer for what, 11 games?
  4. Did Billy pick the skull tee to represent his performance against RHP? Man, we are dogpiling on our guys today.
  5. Affliction, Ed Hardy, etc shirts aren't really my thing for a variety of reasons, but I....uh....I actually kinda, uh, like the shirt JJ has on. I mean, for what Braunie's probably charging for it, I doubt I'd buy one, but different strokes.
  6. He needs to ditch the soul patch--it only detracts from the magnificence of a proper handlebar
  7. I'm happy for Nate McLouth.
  8. Well, nice to stop the bleeding and get the season series win, regardless of the way it happened
  9. Can't say I was a huge fan of Big Seth batting there but I can understand why
  10. Unbelievable that we get 9 runs in 5 innings but still have to have the stretched bullpen pitch 4 1/3 (I hope!!!)
  11. Pretty sure he just said "Richie Weeks"! I also liked him rattling off, "hit and runnin', squeeze buntin'" Great interview--he's a calm, intelligent guy who also seems pretty assertive when he wants/needs to be.
  12. Hoo boy, some vintage Meltdown Manny Parra! When he's been on in the past, he's on, but when he's bad, it's Chernobyl. 10 runs in 3 2/3 isn't helping his trade value in a package for Peavy. Maybe him and Prince get into another dust-up tonight.
  13. Anyone else having big problems with their Extra Innings feeds tonight? I thought it was FSN Wisconsin, but the Reds' feed is bad too as well as all the other EI games--my regular cable channels are fine. Very choppy video and audio; I pretty much missed Billy Hall's RBI.
  14. I ran cross-country and track and roadraces in high school and college, and just started running roadraces again (not really "competing" per se) earlier this year (I've ran a 5K and a 12K...two 10Ks coming up in June and July) after 15 years off, and am planning on doing my first half-marathon ever(longest race I'd run before was the Gasparilla 15K when I was younger). That's in December in Vegas, and even that seems too short a time for me to prep for that distance--maybe I'm not giving myself enough credit though. But yeah, if you can go from nothing to 26.2 in just a couple months, you're a better (or crazier!) man than I am. I suppose you're in pretty good shape from the soccer, but man, all those miles on all that pavement can beat your bottom half down. Good luck either way!
  15. I've mentioned this in the beer thread, but whenever I head from the Bay Area back to Chicago/Wisconsin, I bring a small bag full of NorCal beers out there for friends/family and then bring a bunch of New Glarus/Bell's/etc back to California with me when I'm headed back. I think California has a higher quantity of great stuff, but as far as quality, Wisconsin's best is right up there with anything here. P.S. I'd just take her for a day-long good-beer bender: Zeitgeist to Lucky 13 to Toronado! (Yes, that's half-blue...!)
  16. Big Z today, you knew Milton Bradley was gonna go koo-koo and start talking in third-person, you KNOW Uncle Lou will have a Looney Tunes episode before this season's over, heck, even Koyie Hill's temper tantrum in the first Brewers-Cubs game: just what's in the water cooler at that circus at Addison and Clark these days?!? And yeah: I don't really want to hear anything from Cubs' fans about "professionalism."
  17. Well, credit to the Cards--they got it done today when it counted and we didn't. Overall, they came in pretty banged up and left town with the division lead--we're lucky we weren't swept. (Strange strikezone today, by the by)
  18. I hate when these missed opportunities come in bunches What was that, three innings in a row where we had men in scoring position and no runs?
  19. JJ, eh? Jenks and Hart confirmed it: do not underestimate Brewers' fans ability to stuff a ballot box.
  20. That's an MP crowd all over I cringe when I'm watching the games at home and I see a wave there during a relatively crucial point in the game, and it seems to happen all the time Thanks Legacy!
  21. Hear, hear, pitchleague. I'm a little surprised they didn't (or maybe they did?) have a misting after the win, a la the mist fountains at Comerica or AT&T Park.
  22. I noticed this blurb was bereft of actual quotes from the Twins, and the logic used is specious at best (plunking Mauer makes no sense whatsoever in that situation), so I tend to think this is just the beat writer trying to stir a pot, but anyway... Their fans also seem to think there was some purpose behind it...give me a break, fellas.
