  1. If Henderson throw 40+ pitches would it stand to reason he will need 2 more outings in AAA to be fully stretched out and be able to help the big league team?
  2. Strong roster, I would expect Fischer and Dinges to be in AA before June for sure. I am surprised by Dorchies in A+ ball but he pitched well enough that I don't see any issues with it.
  3. When drafted he was compared to Gunnar Henderson, he definitely hasn't been on that level with the bat but I have been impressed with his approach and defense. I kind of look at him more as JJ Hardy with better speed, which is probably a borderline all-star for most of this contract if he can hit .260-.280. My guess is that when the details of the signing come out there will be a couple parts in there that help reduce the risk of this signing that we will all like.
  4. Solid move, give the guy a month on the roster or so. If he struggles it's easy to DFA and maybe he clears waivers and except a AAA assignment. There is still enough upside there to be a big time bat. Last he hit 8 bombs in 172 ab's in one of the most difficult HR stadiums. Add in some bad luck with a .248 average on balls batted in play and solid AAA numbers and the guy is worth 50 ab's or so to take a look. He hit .331 with 12 hr and 15 sb in AA/AAA as a 21 year old. He was probably rushing to the bigs but hit .250 with decent k and bb number in the bigs. This upside is real, maybe some shades of what we have seen from from Joey Weimer with the Nats to start the year. Nice.Nice
  5. I have very mixed feelings on this. On the positive I love the cheap extension and if the minor league coaches and front office have that much belief in the work ethic, character, and baseball potential I trust this. He is a gold glove caliber defender and especially given how far out the contract goes the value should be OK even if the bat isn't special. He doesn't strikout much and takes walks and anyone who has followed the Brewers system knows there will likely be 20+ HR potential in the bat. He was only 20 last year in AA, had he played A+ last year and hit like .280-.300 people would be way higher on his offense. On top of that, I wont complain when the org actually decides to spend money. I dont think this money will be a factor in extending Made or other prospects in the next couple years. On the negative, I think we could have waited until the end of the year (or midseason) and signed the same deal. That would have given everyone a little better look at the bat and his future. I think a Turang extension has probably passed but I would probably have rather signed Sal, Patrick, Uribe to an extension 1st. Since we will be paying him probably like 10+ million the couple years before the options there is a lot of risk that he wont reach his potential and paying him that money could cost us an impact players down the road. Overall, I like this more than it worries me. However, I dont get why we just didnt wait a couple months and have a little better idea what the offense looks like.
  6. Sorry, I would assume Russ would only cost like 2 million and then sign Jordan or Decker to like a 1/10 deal. Maybe my wording or thought process was off.
  7. Just a fun idea for content 1) Joey Ortiz .250 batting average 2) David Hamilton 40 SB 3) Abner Uribe 10 saves 4) Christian Yelich top 10 mvp 5) Misi 200 k 6)Jake Bauers 20 HR 7) Brice Turang 185 hits 8) Aaron Ashby 100 innings 9) Contreras 25 HR 10) Chad Patrick 180 innings Make up your own or suggest an edit to any of the proposed numbers I am going to be bold and just say over for all.
  8. I've been really impressed by Joey and David Hamilton. Hopefully the great start can carry over and turn into productive full seasons. As long as Joey actively thinks to go oppo he seems to be a much much better hitter.
  9. If we don't get a backup QB in the draft what would thoughts be on bringing in Russell Wilson for a year as a backup? I get he has been a strange personality but I think he could fit the Malik Willis role for a couple games if need be. We have 22 million in cap space left, after the draft I would guess that is like 12-15ish. Who left on the market would be your perferred signing? I would go with Taylor Decker or Cameron Jordan, I think as short term vets both could provide huge depth and upside to go along with proven leadership.
  10. I agree that we wouldn't get much in value from Wicks, Reed, or Watson. However I could see a trade for a position player. Maybe Wicks for a CB or OL would work somewhere.
  11. I like them all, obviously after yesterday's start Sproat is not off to a great start. The small change in his swing Bauers made in August/Semtember last year seems to be paying off and with the Vaughn injury he should have a chance to become an everyday player. Turang has been in that top 5 2B so I can see that next step coming. If Dinges can stay healthy the bat can definitely lead him to be a top prospect.
  12. https://www.milb.com/gameday/sounds-vs-tides/2026/03/29/816068/final/box Sounds won 6-2, looks like a quality Kuehner start with contributions on offense across the board.
  13. I think after he last spring training start and the first AAA start, I wouldn't wait to long to bring him up. I think I would give Sproat another start but if it is like yesterdays I would swap Sproat for Gasser. If Sproat looks better I would just bring Gasser up as a 6th starter (not sure who would go down).
  14. I would be interest in Jack Neely, he is 6'8" throws 96 and gets great extension. He only throws 2 pitches (fastball/sweeper) but he is a guy our staff could do well with. I think there could be a lot of Trevor Megill in there if he puts it together.
  15. Couldn't have asked for a better scripted 1st series.
  16. Wow, that's about as good of an opening day (minus the Chourio injury news) as could be expected. Yes, it was against the White Sox however 14 runs with 12 hits 10 walks and on the pitching side 20 strikeouts will play. The only downside is that tomorrow is an off day already and we have to wait until Saturday. Go Crew.
  17. I expect him to be somewhere between Tyler Alexander and Bryce Wilson. If whatever little tweeks our pitching staff tries with him work I can see a Bryce Wilson style contribution. If things don't work out we can get 20ish innings of just blowout/save arms early in the year work and let him go in June-ish when the 40man spot is needed or a AAA pitcher forces the issue.
  18. Meh, there is a decent arm there however he hasn't broke through at 29 with multiple orgs. I would rather have McGee and an open 40 man spots and maybe just sign someone to a minor league deal. To give up Hunt seems like a waste when there are likely a dozen similar guys who got cut who could prove the same depth.
  19. Does Bauers start in Left opening day?
  20. Contreras caught 128 last year and 22 DH, Yeli DH 128 and LF for 18. I can't see Contreras catching more games than last year. 20 games is like 1 game a week, I don't see that as unreasonable for Yeli and Contreras to shift to DH and LF once a week. Yeli payed 150 games last year and was way better the last 100 or so, whatever work last year should be copied in my opinion.
  21. I would think at least to start the year they go straight platoon which would allow Mitchell a few days of rest here and there. Maybe after a couple weeks if one guy is clearly hitting better they start gaining more pt.
  22. He is way overdue for some luck in the health department. I am setting my hopes low (and high at the same time) at 100+ games, if the defense can be what it always has he should be able to make up at least what we got from Collins last year. Add in the likely better defense of having Chourio in LF over Collins and Mitchell in CF over Chourio and that will be a great group.
  23. I would be 100% ok with Ashby starting, even if it is a little bit shorter outings to start. I would think maybe a role like Nick Martinez has had the past 4 years wouldn't be a bad idea. He starts 10-20 games, occasionally pitches multi inning relief, or sometimes late innings would be great. He could throw 100-125 innings and have huge value to our team giving as many quality innings as possible.
  24. I would love for Black to get a chance to prove himself in the bigs, the problem is where does he play? He is probably is 3rd on the depth (and that is with Adams and Burke right on his heels) at 1st and 6th or 7th in the OF. The really only path I would see is if Yeli goes down and he gets a little run at DH, which wouldn't be ideal.
  25. I think Rengifo does ok the first month or so, but Hamilton slowly gain PT over him as he get better and better defensively at 3B. At some point, Jett will get a call up at SS or 3B (maybe both) and push Rengifo out of the platoon. Maybe a little like last year but not as much struggles as last year. Rengifo=Dunn/Capra Hamilton=Mone Jett/Wilken/Pratt=Durbs I would love to see Brock Wilken destroy AAA and be ready by say July but that one is may more hoping than what I think will really happen.
