  1. Yes, sorry thought I had that in there. Burnes for Kim based trade this offseason.
  2. Kim would be nice but I wouldnt give up Chourio, Misi, or Quero. I would be ok with a solid package for him however my guess is the Pads would want an established player for him. A prospect package of Frelick, and 2 10-20 ranked prospect seems reasonable. I think maybe something based on a Burnes for Kim swap this summer might make more sense. The Pads could lose Snell, Lugo, and Wacha with Darvish going down hill they don't have much in there rotation after Joe Musgrove and little in the way of interesting upper minors arms.
  3. Would it make sense to bring Woody up for his next start? I know they want 1-2 more rehab starts however 85-90% of Woody for 70 pitches is better than Rea, Teheran, or Houser will give you. If Woody is throwing anyways and his stuff has been good why not have it in the big leagues. His next start would be at the Nats or home vs. Pirates so it's not like he would be facing a daunting offense.
  4. I wouldn't be a fan of trading Caratini. We do have 2 solid AAA catchers (3 with Naveretto) however I can't see us getting more than a prospect like Johnny Severino (Santana trade). To me that just isn't worth risking a Burnes decline.
  5. He moves the needle a bunch in my opinion. He adds a bunch of defense at first and solid run producing (53 rbis). Somehow only 3 gdp's and respectable strikeout rate which means he probably make productive outs. We could still use another middle of the order bat at 2B, 3B, or DH (maybe OF).
  6. I think the quote there of not wanting to spare run prevention is huge. Santana is a huge 1st upgrade, +6 runs. Rowdy can focus on DH when back. My guess is Jeimer Candalario has to be our top target. He isn't a gold glover but has had a positive runs scored metric. Jorge Polanco would be an interesting name for 2B. He is set to come off the IL any day and is a solid defense 2B who could be a big improvement offensively. The Twins have Julian playing really well at 2B and I am sure there is something we have in an arm that would be interesting to them. He also has 2 reasonable team options if he plays well the rest of the way.
  7. I vote no hesitantly. Obviously there is always a trade that would be to good to pass up. However we shouldn't be cash strapped for 3/4 years unless we really want to sign all 3 of the big 3.
  8. Great deal, Severino has a little upside but Santana has been pretty good lately and will help 1st and DH. If he can hit .250/.350 the rest of the way it would be huge.
  9. Would he move the needle, yes but not as much as using the same resources for a bat. The problem with Rodriguez is that he is a good number 4 starter (possible #3 at times) who was awesome to start the year and has slowly been coming back down to earth. He also 3 year at 16ish mill a year and that only gets picked up if he blows out his arm or is truly awful. My guess is that he would cost a top 10 and top 20 prospect and using that capital could get us 2 good bats. Say it would cost Eric Brown and Logan Henderson for Rodriguez (and that might not be enough seeing what Giolito was traded for) We could trade EBJ for Jeimer and maybe a small throw in. Then Henderson for cj cron (maybe a bit more from us.
  10. What about a trade for a mlb ready prospect with the Rangers, they have Seager, Semien, Duran in the bigs and then Acuna and Foscue in the upper minors. I think Foscue is mlb ready and fits our mold of low k players. Foscue for Houser and a throw in or Foscue for Daniel Guiallrte and Janson Junk. Connor Norby and Michael Busch would probably be similar prospects. However Busch is more a LF/1B defensively. Edit:Tyler Freeman would be interesting to.
  11. Can't trade deadline, need to keep at it. August 1 though will be a sloppy night in the front office.
  12. I like McMahon alot, I really thought when he was a prospect and young player he would be a .300 hitter (his k rate is probably a big reason). I feel like he is a better version of Brain Anderson. If the price isn't to steep I would jump at it. I would mind Gasser, Urias, and a throw in for McMahon. The Rockies get a desperately needed mlb ready pitcher and upside bat in need of a new place. We get a solid 3B/2B/1B capable of consistent batting. I also agree that he could strangely be a better hitter away from Coors. His home/away splits are similar this year, but better at Coors.
  13. Like a 3 games to a week and Wilken goes to Appleton and Boeve goes to A ball?
  14. Agreed, between that, the Weimer bat flick, and the Urias lean back there is obviously a gap in teaching better swing mechanics. It seems like it took Turang a while to adjust to each level when he went through the minors. Hopefully it is just taking a bit longer in the bigs. We definitely need a different everyday 2B the rest of the way (or 3B and Montaserio plays 2B).
  15. Would Josh Bell be a trade candidate? He has a 16 million dollar player option for next year that I would assume he will pick up at this point. He is a little better defensively than Rowdy and would be a decent boost at DH. My guess would be that he would cost very little in the way of prospects for a lower salary team like the Guardians. With guys like Lauer, Urias, Rowdy, Taylor possibly not being tendered and some FA's Caratini, Anderson, Miley, Winker we should be able to afford him next year (not to mention a possible trade of the big 3).
  16. In general i agree, however if Ohtani gets traded it would make up for a lot. I could see prices for slightly above average players being crazy high. There are some players like Goldschmidt, Hader, Snell, Bieber, Bednar, Scherzer, Verlander, and other who could make it interesting. The problem is there is very little depth, when out top target is someone like Candelario there is very little depth. On top of that, there are like 8 teams who need bats (plural) and maybe half a dozen truly solid good trade candidates.
  17. Luke Adams got 282.5k last year so most of those guys could sign for 300k-ish. Letson and Gholston maybe around 500k since they were ranked prospects.
  18. Grichuk and CJ Cron for Keston, JC Mejia/Peter Strezlecki, and Gregory Barrios We take on cash and get to potential better bats, the Rockies get 2 higher potential mlb ready guys who can audition this year and a lotto type prospect. Jeimer Candelario for Logan Henderson and Tyrone Taylor Henderson is a steep price to pay for a rental but Candelarii fits our needs well. C)Contreras 1B)Cron 2B) Montesario SS) Adames 3B) Candy LF) Yeli CF) Weimer/Frelick (send Weimer down for a couple weeks to get extra season of control and give Frelick a look) RF)Grichuk DH)rotate (eventually Rowdy) Bench) Miller, Anderson, Caratini, Perkins/Tapia, Turang/Peyton Henry/Alex Jackson That really lengthens out the offense and allows for CC to still have lots of matchup options. Maybe bring a 3rd catcher up so Caratini can play more. No more .200 hitters in the middle of the order. Willy could drop down to 6.
  19. I like the strategy used. In my opinion we got a 1st and 4 solid 2nd round talents (3 with 1st round potrntial). We also got to chose a couple of our scouts favorites like Woodward and Birchard. Then we took 2 or 3 HS kids who could have been top 5 round picks in 11-20 if one of the early HS guys doesn't sign.
  20. What is the amount for 11-20 rounders that starts to count against the bonus. Was it 150k?
  21. Jackson ChourioJeferson QueroJacob MisiorowskiSal FrelickTyler BlackBrock WilkenLuis LaraCarlos F RodriguezEric Brown JrRobert GasserAbner UribeJosh KnothCooper PrattEric BitontiDaniel GuilarteMike BoeveLogan HendersonJustin JarvisLuke AdamsDylan O'Rae I feel like this is the strongest our farm system has been in a really long time. There are easily 30 guys I could see in our top 20.
  22. I am over the moon with these signings. There might/should be enough to get Pratt, Bitonti, Letson, and a couple of the other HS picks later.
  23. Should it be concerning that we haven't signed any picks? I am sure we are just playing hardball trying to get every cent to sign Pratt and some of those 11-20 round picks. I know usually like 5 or 6 guys can sign at once. Maybe I'm just a bit antsy.
  24. Bellinger would be great however he is another guy that might cost one of our better prospects for. I would be all for giving up 2 guys in the 10-20 range of our ranking for him but not top 8-10. Renfroe would be fine, I wouldn't be over the moon but as a DH and occasional RF, meh (not sure how the clubhouse feel about him). With Cutch going back to Pitt. it sounded like he wasn't going anywhere. I believe I remember their GM saying that Cutch wasn't going anywhere as well. Would anyone take a risk on Tim Anderson to play 2B, he has been rough but I feel like getting in the playoff hunt would jump start him. He wouldn't cost much and could be a big boost if motivated correctly. If Jimenez isn't to badly hurt he would be interesting, however getting a young injury prone player who only really DH's could really hurt the long term outlook. I doubt the Sox sell low on him, they likely would need at least 1 borderline top 100 prospect and 2 other interesting pieces. With 3.5 years of control they won't sell low on a 26 year old. With Anderson out it seems like the perfect time to give Huira a chance. Is there some financial reason that Huira wouldn't get a chance.
  25. The Yankees just moved into last place, I am thinking the Red Sox won't be selling. The Angels, Padres, and Mariners are probably more likely to sell than the Red Sox. Of those teams Brandon Drury and Ty France are the only corner IF help (maybe Eugenio Suarez). Both would be really great but I think the price would be stepper than we would want.
