  1. They signed two players for what Braun made last year, and a handful of other free agents with multi-million dollar deals walked. Haudricourt still isn’t wrong. Speaking of Braun, am I the only one with a tinge of sadness that this closes the book on any chance that Braun returns? Yup, I feel the same way. I think he deserved a bigger send-off than going out in a covid fueled nightmare of a season.
  2. I think you can just compare the Brewers payroll to the rest of the league to come to conclusions on whether or not they spend money. They certainly don't sign the big name free agents, those guys are still pretty much only going to large market teams. Some things never really change. As Brewers fans, we pretty much have to be happy with signing guys like Wong and Bradley because we are never going to sign the crippling contracts that the big namers get. If anyone is expecting that to happen, just follow a different team and put yourself out of your misery. (yes, we gave Yelich a giant contract, I am not discounting that, however, had he not been on our own roster, we wouldn't have given him that contract on the free agent market because someone else would have paid him more, it's just the way it is)
  3. Taylor is a guy that will succeed if given the opportunity imo. I hope it's in a Brewers uniform, but it is almost looking like it won't be now that we signed Bradley to do what Taylor can do. We still have no real 3B, and now a crowded outfield.
  4. This almost cements that Braun won't be coming back. No Cespedes either. It's not a sexy signing, but we are certainly going all in on defense.

  6. I think you and many others are underselling Tyrone. I'm expecting good things from him this year as our #4 outfielder.

  8. I don't think that price is unreasonable. If you tune into 20-30 games a month, for $3 - $4 per game, is that horrible? I'm tired of fighting streaming services, the random price increases, channels dropping out of the blue. I'm going back to cable once I am in my new place, about a month away.

  10. But his bat just doesn't play. Hoping last year was the real Arcia offensively, but I've seen his act before. Plenty! If we have to settle for him pinch hitting late in games, that will not be ideal. If he is a defensive replacement late in games, and somehow gets meaningful at bats, also not ideal.

  14. No. Mitchell yesterday had an EV I believe was 109MPH on his hit. That is astounding and this kid will rise up the minors quickly doing that. So point on window closing needs to recognize Turang and Mitchell are possible to likely 2022 additions to the lineup. Gore is a rising top 10prospect. He's going to be untouchable for likely all but maybe a list of 10-15players. Hader isn't one of them. Campusano may perfectly fit the headline to a Hader deal. Except milw is loaded at catcher and traded for what should be a decent one last year. Yes. I didn't mention Mitchell anyplace in my post. Do you have a job with the Brewers front office? You often speak in absolutes, like you have an in.
  15. Loved the first couple seasons of Workaholics. The last 2 or 3 seasons were almost painful to view. Love the League, start to finish.
  16. What about trading Hader and another piece for Gore? Hader and a pitching prospect, maybe even one of our top guys like Small. As much as I like Small, I love Gore. I covet him! Would this even stimulate conversation with the Padres?
  17. If Gore shows up in their rotation at some point this season, that lessens the chances of him being dealt at the deadline for Hader. Once he shows up and becomes part of their rotation, no way they trade him for a bullpen piece, even as dominant as Hader. If he remains in the minors and has yet to make an impact with the MLB team, the odds are slim, but still the off chance that the Pads are desperate for bullpen help, and move him for Hader. Once they truly see what they have in Gore, and if he performs even slightly close to what everyone thinks he is, no way he is traded.
  18. It seems like this isn't happening?
  19. Yep ... should probably serve as a warning to those pushing for the Brewers to trade Hader. They'd probably be lucky to get 1-2 prospects back the caliber of Diaz and Harrison, let alone a Top 25 MLB prospect like Brinson was at the time. I think success and failure can't be applied to all trades involving minor league guys. It's a case by case basis. I think now is the time to trade Hader, at the very least, at this year's trade deadline. Again though, if we don't get what we are asking for, then hang onto him.
  20. I wasn't speaking politically. The pipeline being shut down is factual, not political. (well, factual if in fact it is allowed to happen) Anyways, thanks for the reply. Hopper, Sorry, I wasn't claiming you were. But since the Keystone pipeline is a political hot-button topic, I just threw out the warning. Frankly, it was more simply because I said the name than anything you said. no worries.
  21. I'd absolutely love a 1 year deal. The longer he goes without a deal in place, the better our chances? Why not offer him one year 12.5 million? He slides into our #3, and then let the others battle it out for 4-5.
  22. Still too early to tell. I think at the end of 2021, we should have a pretty good read on Diaz and Harrison. Brinson is baffling. I thought this guy was going to be a staple in our OF, now it looks like he might have flamed out.
  23. I expect nothing from this guy. I don't think he contributes anything positive, and gets cut or waived.
