  1. I need a day off from watching this mess. The only reason I am going to watch tonight is to see fastball Freddy take advantage of his opportunity to start a game. I am expecting 6 innings of 3 hit baseball, 8 K's, 1 run allowed. Sounds great, but even if that happens, the Crew will still be hitless when he exits. Hard to believe how much this season feels like last season. It's way too early to be this down on the team, but it just seems futile.
  2. Keston needs to be sent down ASAP and see if he can figure things out again. That will also get him away from Haines, who is a bum. It always feels like Brewers coaches get a long leash, a really long leash. Haines needs to go, the sooner the better. No need to prolong the inevitable.
  3. A bunch of players were fined though. Arenado, Hicks, Molina from the Cardinals and Eugenio Suárez and Jesse Winker from the Reds were fined but no amount yet disclosed.
  4. It would be just like CC to bench him today vs a pitcher he has hit off in the past. He needs something to wake him up. Hopefully Williams is just the guy to do it!
  5. I've never heard Correa is a jerk before. Seriously, this is the first time I have heard that? What has he done?
  6. If you guys like The Wire, check out The Shield. You can thank me later.
  7. Incompetence? Seriously OldSckoolSnapper? Wow, that is a bit harsh. There are older people this will effect, not everyone is as competent as you in life.
  8. Its ok for people to disagree. I personally didn't see any denial, though. No big deal. I see lots of denial, acting like Cain will not be an injury concern the next 2 seasons. Acting like he hasn't already been an injury concern is also denial. Again, no big deal, discussions sometimes get this way when people, including myself, pick a hill to die on. If he plays half our games this season, I will be shocked. I still hope he has his best season ever, but that ain't happening.
  9. Harsh responses to my Cain post. I'm cool with denial. I guess we will see how he does with the injuries this year.
  10. I did not say cut him or release him. It was factual, we'll be keeping Cain, and Taylor won't have a spot.
  11. Never, not once, did I suggest releasing/cutting Cain. We'll see how many times he goes on the IL this year. We'll see how many games he actually plays. Not wishing ill on the guy, I hope he has an all-star season, but it seems that a few people are not seeing the writing on the wall. Which is fine.
  12. Are you Cain's doctor? Because I have no idea where you get off stating as fact his body is failing. It's laughable. Maybe let's wait to watch the guy play before shopping around for homes where he can be placed with assisted living. Meanwhile, they have Garcia, they signed JBJ, Derek Fisher might just have had a roster spot locked up but got hurt and Billy McKinney is still in the mix. Not to mention David Robinson as an emergency guy. Cain isn't the guy holding Taylor back. Taylor isn't going to break camp on the 26 man because he's not top six on the depth chart and Stearns made a point to bring in several other guys because he wanted better options. The number 1 reason is that they most likely want him to keep getting consistent at bats and being the 5th OF in Milwaukee he'd get very sporadic playing time. Nope, not a doctor, but anyone who watches this team on a regular basis can see where Cain is headed. In 2019, he acted and moved like he was in constant pain. You think that is going to be any better 2 seasons later? He's old in MLB terms, not real life. Assisted living is a bit of a stretch. He is inured frequently, and there is just no way we get value from him these next two seasons. I like Cain, I really do, but the guy will be hurt a lot imho. I'd like Taylor to get a legit chance to succeed on this roster, and he will probably be able to up and down all season due to Cain's injuries. Sorry to offend you.
  13. It's really too bad that Tyrone Taylor is stuck in an organization that just doesn't appreciate his talents. He's 27, and looks like he won't have a permanent spot on the roster again this year. He has done all that he can to earn a spot, and yet, he is probably going to be the odd man out. Instead, we will keep an old man who is past his prime, body failing, just because we owe him another 30 million on what everyone knew was going to be a bad contract in years 3-5. Luckily we got out of paying him in year 3. If we aren't going to use Taylor, trade him, give the guy a chance on another team that will use him. It's a shame really.
  14. Spectrum does not value customer loyalty in any way. I have threatened to leave for other options in the past, and they basically say, ok, see you later then. It's frustrating, but it is what it is. There was a time that I could call, make threats, etc and they would end up bowing to my reasonable demands to keep me as a customer. Now that they have a lot of competition from the streaming services, dish, satellite, whatever, you would think they would value their loyal customers even more. That is not the case, they don't care if you leave.
  15. I think he's a goner. Nothing lost. We took a look, and there is nothing to see.
  16. My son is 24, and trying to date but he says it is an absolute nightmare, especially using apps. I feel bad for him.

    Pizza

My wife and I ate those in college and still buy a few today when we see them on sale for $1 (which isn’t often anymore). It’s not great pizza, but it is a great value. Man, that is still a dollar too much. They are just so bad. I haven't had one since college, but even as a college student, willing to eat almost anything cheap, they just didn't cut it. I'm actually surprised they are still being made. Back then, Roma was the poorest quality that I could bring myself to eat, which is too bad because back in the 70's and 80's growing up, Roma was great! Now, just horrible.
  18. Public health, CDC, Fauci, the media and so many others ruined the trust early on by giving out information that was later proven incorrect. Yes, as the virus wore on, science makes corrections, but the way information was passed on (masks work, masks don't work) caused a lot of the issues that are still happening today. I questioned the speed of the vaccine as well. I am now trusting that science has proven to those who make those decisions, that the vaccine is safe, and I will get it as soon as it is offered.
  19. Saw this morning that the CDC is saying that 3 feet social distancing might be just as effective as 6 feet. Dr. Fauci was being quoted as well. (Not that half the country really believes anything he says anymore) So once again, people will see this, and take it as fact. Conflicting information has been an issue since this thing started. Why report that as a possibility? When the study is complete, release the information. Just one more thing to question, for a society that is almost to the point of not believing anything the CDC or media tells us to begin with.
  20. Any news on this experiment? Does he actually have a chance at the rotation, or are we just a bunch of hopeful homers?

    Pizza

Every once in a while, I get a craving for that good old fashioned rectangle shaped pizza that my high school cafeteria served. Probably alone on that though.
  22. Notre Dame ripoff. I was so happy when we dumped that logo. Not that what we went to after was a whole lot better, but that logo just reminds me of some really bad teams.
  23. I'll easily take the under on that 100. I think we all knew the end of that 5 year deal would be a nightmare. So, here we are. Imagine having Grisham instead of Garcia. Yelich, Bradley, Grisham.
  24. If the team is to succeed they need to follow the models proven successful by teams like Oakland and Tampa Bay. Neither of those two teams sign free agents to big multi year contracts. Rather they constantly churn the roster and add free agents on shorter deals, or where they assess there to be unexpected value. Hoping the Brewers act like the huge media market teams on the coast or in Chicago isn’t realistic. I agree. Which is why I said if anyone expects anything differently, they need to follow another team. Some people see moves the Yankees make and think we should be able to do the same thing. Nope, until we have a salary cap of some kind, we will never be run like the large market teams.
  25. The guy has looked like he was in pain since the day we signed him. He hobbles around like an old man most of the time, wincing in pain just jogging to the OF and with every swing of the bat. I used to wonder if he just did that for attention, but I think his body is just breaking down. At this point, I am just hoping he opts out and we don't have to pay him another 30 million, especially now that we have Bradley.
