  1. It's not random. Our rag tag scrubs can't hit and they have 30+ bomb guys up and down the line. They hit a few bombs and we rejoice when we get a single. Aces are great but can't win with literally 0 runs. It almost seems like we need Tellez or Vogelback to save the day with a dinger off the bench or we get nothing. It's hard to recall how we won 90+ games with such an unreliable batting order.
  2. Except for a couple of games against the Cubs, the offense has been routinely weak. What's the point of arguing about who pitches tomorrow, when nobody is going to score? Overcoming a 1-run lead is a big ask for this team. Overcoming a 3-run lead in the playoffs looks like trying to climb Denali in flip-flops. Misery. And Yelich is back to taking strikes again. MISERY I tell you!
  3. Here comes a 3-run homer by Pederson, and Freddie can only watch from the dugout.
  4. Maybe we are due for some "cheap" hits; whenever we spank one it goes right at someone. Tough inning not to score.
  5. You can't blame that zero on Yelich: A single and a stolen base. But it's still a dang zero. Bughghghgh!
  6. Yes! He probably checked this board between innings.
  7. I was thinking he hasn't been THAT bad, but that's compared to the rest of the team, not to the Yelich we want, er....need.
  8. Not a whole lot to see, really, so don't feel bad. Yelich caught the fly ball, gunned the runner tagging from first to second (he was out by a mile, not particularly dramatic). Runner from third tagged and would have scored easily, but the out at second looked like it may have happened just before the runner scored. I'm sure I'll catch the highlights later, but the TV is off because I'm trying to knock out some work before I go on a much needed vacation.
  9. I think maybe the high expectations from Yelich --based on past excellence-- make his misses and near misses seem worse. Also, when the rest of the lineup struggles, we expect even more from Yelich. I'm not mad at the guy, heck no, I just feel bad for him. But somebody a has to start hitting.
  10. This just needs to be repeated.
  11. I can't say I like any of the AL teams, but ranked from most disliked to least disliked they are : (tie) Houston - I pretty much dislike everything about the city and the state, and I'm still mad about the cheating. On the other hand, how do you not like Dusty Baker?! (tie) Boston - I was glad when they finally won that WS years ago to break their streak, and at least they knocked off the Yankees. But now they can go away with the Yankees. Chicago - Meh. Tampa Bay - At least it would be a win for a team that didn't spend a gazillion dollars on players . But as long as one of them loses to the Brewers in the WS, it's all good.
  12. As much as I miss the rhythm of the season.... [imagine I posted Flounder of Animal House saying "Oh boy, this is Great!] Epic tech failure at posting a gif, image, or video, but you get the idea.... Edit: Feel free to succeed where I have failed, if you feel moved to do so.
  13. Do you stop watching the playoffs if your one and only team in a sport gets eliminated? I guess I'm tempted to do so. As a Saints fan through many droughts and famines, I learned to find another team to root for to keep my interest up; it was just natural. But then, I could be watching a Bulgarian amateur soccer match and after 2 minutes I'll be cheering for one team or the other.
  14. Cards steal a run. Typical. They will probably sneak another 1 or 2 across. Then, eventually, the Dodgers will need a 3-run homer.
