I'm also doing the Lakefront Marathon as my first one...been in training for two weeks. I did a half marathon last year, but this one has me nervous. It's just so far. I was doing some training over the winter, but I had to have a surgery and couldn't do anything for a month...so I'm out of shape and the training isn't going well. Hope it improves...ugh.

Is simply baffling that he hasn't gotten a single day off during a time when he's killing the brewers at the plate and in the field? He's basically hit about .100 for 15 games. -
Frustrating to get ahead in the count and do nothing with it. Last two innings outs made on 3-0, 2-0 and 2-1 counts. Only watching on game cast so I don't know if they were right at them or what but none of the three even left the infield. Need some runs here...I think that's 12 innings now without one.

I haven't watched most of the game - mainly radio and some game cast. Saw a tweet from Tom h saying that yo was saved by numerous line drives finding leather and some web gems? Was the defense that good? I take it we should feel extremely lucky they only got the 3 runs off gallardo?

Ron was ejected but regardless it's inexcusable to not have someone up and ready with yo not pitching well and starting the inning approaching 90 pitches

I don't know what's more frustrating. Three straight walks with two outs to bring the go ahead run to the plate. Or the fact that they left him in at 100 pitches to walk the last two guys. He was clearly finished after the first walk i thought and suddenly were one swing away from trailing.

Back to back walks to bring up the tying run. Frustrating.

How much longer should Rickie be given at the 4th spot?

Can you guys please explain to me why this is so much knee jerk reactions?? And not the fact that maybe Rickie Weeks simply isn't a very good player anymore? Just becuase you like Weeks and want to defend him, doesn't mean that the rest of us are "ruining the board with kneejerk reactions". He was awful for 3 months last year, everyone talks about how he came around, but he still only hit like .265 the second half of the season. Now this year, back under .200 with tons of K's. At some point it stops being about "only 50 at bats" and starts becoming reality. I don't understand how so many people defend Weeks, on what merit? He hasn't been good in 2 seasons. Sure, maybe he was hurt last season, I'll buy that, but this season looks pretty much IDENTICAL to last, yet there is no injury to blame. And as most people have said, I'm not asking for a straight benching of him (though he needs a day off pretty clearly IMO), but to continue to have him struggle near the top of the order just seems unbelievably silly right now. -
Yeah...his one hit was a pop up that just happened to land in the exact right spot. Have you seen that even with that hit, he's 5 for his last 46, with 4 walks? He's reached 9 times out of his last 50 plate appearances. That's less than 20% of the time. Also struck out 20 times during that stretch.

I'm fine giving Weeks time as we don't have many other options (though he does need a day off)...but for the love of everything holy, please move him out of the 4 spot. I know we don't have any prototypical power bats to put there, but does it really matter at this point? Anyone that can get some hits would be a better option. It's clearly in Weeks head at this point too.

If Segura misses time, it could be Yuni and Bianchi splitting time. I guess Prince could play as well. And while Gonzalez would be much better defensively than either of those two, if he continues hitting .140, we simply can't afford to have him on the field. The fact is, we have plenty of SS options, and from what we've seen so far, Gonzalez is lost at the plate. If they would give us anything for him, I think we'd have to take it. -
Yuni is what he is...but he's the same player as before. He WILL get some hits and some HR, despite the obvious flaws. But when he comes up, I do think he has a chance to do something productive. Gonzalez on the other hand looks completely lost and overmatched. And to top that off, he's batting 6th.

I hate the way Weeks is playing right now, but not as much as Gonzalez. I can see why Weeks keeps being trotted out there, why Gonzalez though?? His .140 average in the 6 hole is really helping the offense. Prince can't play 3b? Or put Yuni at 3b and Maldonado at first?

While that is true, let's not forget Maldonado made an error in that inning or the game would have been over long before that. Henderson isn't better than the 2011 Axford, but he certainly could be very good if he keeps piching like this.

3) He also tried stealing third with two guys on and no one out. Because he knew Weeks was up and was going to strike out anyways. I'm not positive that should be in blue....

Segura ran out if the inning yes...but that doesn't happen if weeks bunts.

At this point in the game it's irrelevant that he's hitting fourth. Even one run here is huge, and the way weeks has swung the bar the last week or two, his best chance to help the team is to bunt IMO. What the....that was the dumbest thing ever. Awesome. Way to totally botch that. Brewers.
