  1. Monday 2/21 Slate: It’s early, but Houser has pitched 2 excellent innings. 0 hits. 3 k’s. 0-0 ball game.
  2. Speaking of Hiura, here's a fun clip of Freddy talking about changes he's seen from Kesty and a first pitch Curve mash HR he hit off of, well, Freddy:
  3. I was just about to post similar sentiments. I would probably ‘argue’, of that list Mejia and Perdomo are the current lead candidates to stick from what I’ve seen in the Winter Leagues (Mejia) and early in ST. Perdomo looked really dialed and healthy. Can he keep it up? That’s what ST is for. Beyond that, the other arms mentioned would really have to show progression and evolution or development from last season’s time in the League or with the Big Club. I should add, of that list, given he was already touching 94 consistently w his fastball yesterday AND he’s on the 40 I would think the Brewers would like to stretch Dylan File out some as he regains his health. He is likely a candidate to help at some point this season IF he stays healthy and stacks success.
  4. I think, perhaps, a new question we can begin asking ourselves given our Starting pitching depth - I say this especially given what I am seeing from Ethan Small as I believe he has taken the proverbial next step - is: Who are current candidates, and who will become candidates in season, to become our next Wily Adames? I know it is unrealistic to envision that type of annual impact in the trade Market BUT given it is probably the Brewers best means of acquiring Blue Chip talent at a depressed value, it is worth considering.
  5. Reyes had quite a nice stint late last season if we recall. Heck, I even recall posters opining they wish they’d find a way to keep him up as the next suprisingly effective utility man. He plays hard and runs the bases with a passion. He’s an easy Vet to like. Glad he’s in the organization. i have to think, at present, they are going to give Brousseau every opportunity to take that job to start the season while sprinkling in some Jace vs some Righties. The ? Remains: were Brousseau’s first 2 seasons the Norm, was last the new Norm, or is it somewhere in between. My guess is the latter.
  6. The MAAC is really a weird League. The refereeing is atrocious. It truly is. The school campuses often reflect those of a big high school rather than a worthwhile Division I University. There’s a reason this is the first Sweet 16 appearance from the League - tho, I will say there have been some very good basketball players throughout its tenure. Agreed on all fronts Holloway and Iona. It’s a lovely feeling when the Gaels Fail(s). Pitino is no longer a likable Coach as far as I’m concerned whereas you can’t help but absolutely love Holloway.
  7. I like where your head is at. On opening Day ST, I thought Kesty’s career might be over. 0-2 w a K? That’s a 50% K rate (!!!). Today, he went 2-2 w a Ding Dong, a BB, and 3 RBI’s. There’s only One thing left to do: I’m going straight to the Vegas online betting portals for an early MVP vote while those odds are in my favor.
  8. Indeed. It's incredible. The best part of the Peacocks' story is this is THE first team EVER to make the Sweet 16 from the MAAC. I am simply elated Holloway led the team to it and not Pitino. Iona can take a backseat. First Round NIT losers. While, Holloway leads his small squad from Jersey City. It's such an incredible story...and, thankfully, it will lead Holloway (most likely) back to his Alma Mater in Seton Hall to sit in the HC's chair in a Big East program.
  9. I hear you @turborickey. AND, I'll just say: I've been a Wisconsin professional sports fan my entire life. Part of my own criteria for loving the teams of Wisconsin is the overt understanding they will always be the underdog. They will always be the small Market. Spending obscene amounts of money for multiple Stars is simply something they rarely can do. BUT, they do from time to time make moves that surprise even me. However, I would point out: what we tend to discover in every Pro Sport and on the majority of pro sports teams is there is indeed an illusion that a professional athlete making a massive amount of money will translate into glorious successes for their new Club. It simply isn't true. The dopamine of seeing that Star name on the ticker is typically worth more than the acquisition itself. The Washington Commies and Philadelphia Iggles can attest to this. The Rams of this past season, if we're being honest, were also extremely lucky. The Dodgers only have 1 World Series to show for their massive amounts of wealth tossed about. The Brewers, I would argue, last season were just as qualified as any team in the Playoffs. They very easily could have played the part of the Braves and won the entire thing. However, they simply ran into their worst stretch of baseball in months at the most inopportune time - the last 2 weeks of the regular season and it found its way into the Playoffs. Guys suddenly lost what they had in the batter's box. It is what it is. We will always be a team trying to strike for gold in the bargain bin. Much like the Packers did so this past season with Campbell and Douglas. The Packers, as well, were just as qualified to win a Super Bowl as the forking Rams. They just ran into the ineptitude that was their Special Teams - a unit that had their worst performance in a litany of poor performances under the brightest of lights. It is what it is. Being a fan can be rough. Personally, as I have grown up and aged, I simply try to enjoy the games. The spectacle of it. This certainly isn't easy - I feel the Packers alone have stolen years of my life (LOL). I have learned to enjoy when other athletes rise to the occasion and meet the moments, as it were, even if they don't play for 'my team'. But, I no longer expect or demand anything in the Free Agency periods. I just don't. It's a recipe to be let down and that just isn't worth my time.
  10. Thanks for the heads up! Much appreciated.
  11. Meanwhile, ST Home Opener today. Freddy takes the dirt hill w Narvaez leading off (lol): Lastly, McCutcheon scheduled to take his first AB's and action for the Crew Monday night in Scottsdale vs the Giants and Hader is scheduled for his first inning in that same game.
  12. Was just coming to post this as I didn't know where to put the active roster updates. LOL. This is a bummer. These types of mysterious injuries can linger. Hopefully he is a fast healer. Hopefully the testing doesn't reveal anything major - I was really looking forward to Luis' progress after a major career renaissance last year. Please hear me Baseball Gods: Luis deserves to be healthy. ?
  13. Quick ?: Are the scores of these match-ups (or Box scores, even?) only available via say the respective team's Twitters? I checked the MILB website yesterday and noticed they were still posting Oct. 2021 games as their latest scores. Thanks in advance.
  14. Erceg's first ever ST action as a pitcher. 1 scoreless. Touched 96-98 on the Heater. Counsell on Urias' injury, Perdomo's innings, pitching in general. The final score was a 11-0 shellacking of the Rangers:
  15. Indeed they have: Edit to Add: It would appear the hope is he'll be ready for Training Camp. Full read here: https://www.si.com/nfl/packers/news/coming-off-torn-acl-tonyan-returns-to-packers
  16. 3 Year deal for Rasul Douglas. Re-signed and confirmed. He is such a great fit in our Defense. We have a case for the best secondary in the League when healthy if they perform at historical Levels. I'm excite.
  17. Mejia also 1 scoreless w 2 punch outs and a Walk.
  18. Ruh Roh. Here's hoping.
  19. Dang. I was wondering about that - I saw he was pulled for Turang in the Box. Here's hoping it is a minor tweak and nothing significant.
  20. Mejia seeing the mound for his first ST action to start inning 3. Really hoping for big things for him out of the Pen.
  21. Looks like we are taking on the Rangers today (Saturday 03/19). Perdomo took the hill. 2 scoreless so far for the Big Lefty. Severino 2 for 2 with a dinger. Up 4-0 Bottom of 3.
  22. I was literally coming to post this. AND, frankly, I am truly truly sad. John seems to have faded from the ESPN machine over the past several years. He was a 'Go To' in the bygone era. May he rest in peace. AND, may he be remembered for the part he played in helping lift American Football to its heights. He is a Legend. No doubt about it.
  23. Amen, brother. Amen. Lofton was indeed special but I was also too young to truly appreciate his greatness. I just love great athletes, period. I really love great athletes who also act professionally and, in the very least, give off that persona. This isn't a downvote on any other type of athlete whatsoever, I just find the no drama performance Kings utterly amazing. Jordy Nelson goes back home to Kansas and works the Family Farm with his brother?. How fantastic and utterly 'The Jordy we thought we knew' is that? Too good. Thanks for sharing.
  24. Watching 'Ted Lasso' for the first time and I love it. The hype is real because the characters are all quite amazingly portrayed and developed. Sad to see there is only 2 seasons to binge. LOL.
