  1. I certainly would be lying if I said I remember Roy Howell or his role on the Brewers - I was a mere 2-6 yo during his stint with the Brew Crew, respectively. BUT, what I do remember of that era is the absolute crisis I faced as a wee 4 yo boy when that 1982 World Series hit. I had somehow become a devout 'fan' of the Cardinals at that young age (a laughable memory now) because of my admiration of Willie McGee and Ozzie Smith. I legit loved those players. I remember sitting before our Zenith television with the odd push button cable box and my two lapel pins, one on each side of the TV, of the Brewers and Cardinals. It was, perhaps, my first 'come to Jesus' moment as a young sports fan. I was crushed when the Brewers lost and I then realized that was my Team come hell or high water. Little did I know then...little did I know...what I was in for as a fan.

  3. Absolutely. There is only one term...and it is clearly Manfred Man. And, given that, it is clear MLB at large may be blinded by the light in choosing to continue with the 'Zipper'.

  7. That block was...just...incredible. Giannis is developing a highlight reel of completely unjustifiable and incredulous defensive stops to his resume of game winners. What I personally loved, just as much, was his Mamba mentality silky pull up jumper with roughly 1:48 to go as well. The young man is just on another Level.
  8. Will be interesting to see what, if anything, he has left in the tank. Sinker Baller if I recall, correctly? But, really a ground ball pitcher who lacks any ability to strike batters out? It's been awhile. But, on a minor league deal take a look and see if there is anything there. Since the first couple games of Spring, the bullpen hasn't exactly been lighting it up as it were.

  12. With the way Jevon Carter has been playing since his arrival, I absolutely do not approve of Coach Bud relegating him to the end of Bench in games that matter. I understand it as he wants to prioritize getting his vets in Wes and George going BUT, I say, let the young fella play. He's earned his stripes by playing excellent basketball. That's my Hot Bucks take.
  13. Down 10 at half to Philly. Half closed with a classic Midds step back airball from about 18 ft straight on FT line extended. Classic Midds. I find Midds to qualify distinctly in the class of 'Glenn Robinson' Buckaroos. You just never know what version you're going to get but you know, at any moment, they can turn the ball over with their sloppy handle or careless TO's, their defense is old and tired, AND they definitely could go off for 40. Good to be a Bucks fan, baby.
  14. My current Emo-Spring Training experience revolves around 2 of my bullpen darlings: JC Mejia and Jake Cousins. I really want them to succeed at the MLB Level. I believe they have the stuff. And, I am admittedly in a Defcon 1.5 state. My donkey ears are mildly erect. LOL. I find it utterly hilarious that I really couldn't care less how a single other Brewer performs this ST, but when Jake and JC give up runs I'm hitting the 02 tank. ?
  15. Given Jake Cousins' 'coming back to Earth' close to his impressive 2021 season, I'm going to say his ST has given me some mild and casual 'concern' as to where he presently fits in the bullpen. He simply doesn't have the track record. For me, this is another prove it year for the young Wild Card. Hopefully, he gets his footing early and can run with some success.
  16. LOL. No kidding?!? Well that's hilarious in that you can do that and I somehow didn't even know. Thanks! We let him back into the game to give up another ding dong. Good stuff Woody!
  17. Circling back to QB's. Now that Pro Days have progressed, I'm going to go 'on record' and say I see 3 QB's for sure Rd 1 and, now, after UNC maybe 4 Qb's. (1) Malik Willis (2) Matt Corral (3) Kenny Pickett (4) Sam Howell Apparently, Howell really impressed at his Pro Day and he now has 1st Rd buzz. May it be so. Just keep on pumping those QB's everyone. EDIT: I am bumping this mainly because I spoke early and felt only Malik Willis was a surefire. And, well, I spoke early. And, I'm a moron.
  18. If someone can explain the current running Brewers Box score at present (we might be batting in the Top of the 6th?) that would be amazing. LOL. Everybody Spring Training now (Rastafari voice) We have Woody leaving in the Bottom of the 4th and then re-entering the game to give up another HR in the Bottom of the 5th? Ummmm...yeah.
  19. I think Woody is ready for ST to end? Another outing. And, another not so good one. 3.1 ip, 6 H, 1 BB, 4 k and gives up 2 ding dongs and 5 runs. You know they wanted to stretch him out some more...and were incapable. Woody has work to do to get back to his best stuff.
  20. Interesting to hear McCutcheon speaking of his 'issues' last year versus RHP. I can't find the clip any longer, but in the past few days (after hitting 2 HR off Mariners RHP) he was speaking briefly to not having his Legs last year coming off of injury ( @BSirvio: toss in another). He was very clear in thinking back to his past season vs LHP this off-season: If he can smash LHP there is no reason he can't smash RHP in his view. In the newest podcast, and first one ever, McCalvy speaks to the Brewers personnel staff finding he also had a lot of really Bad Luck when hitting off RHP last season: podcast HERE. Also in this podcast is the paraphrased quote that 'Cutch' shared: he expected to hit at least a HR when visiting Miller Park (I see you American Family. I defer). I am leaving room to be presently surprised. ** This post is actually about how many parentheses I can use and not go overboard. I think I went overboard.
  21. One thing we can agree on: This month of April leading up to the Draft is going to be FUN. I love this time of year and having 4 picks in the top 59 is just an incredible amount of draft Capital for 'The Gute'. He is typically very fun in those first 2 rounds anyhow and has been quite good historically in those higher picks I would argue.
  22. In St. Louis, they only drink a tall 'Class' of Water.
  23. I have #2 penciled in Severino as One of my 'destined to Surprise and overperform' players on the roster. I'm pretty high on what he brings and feel the switch to the Brewers organization is going to revitalize him. These pre-season Catcher ratings? Not a fan and I find myself in fairly substantial disagreement.
  24. This made me smile...If Abner and Smallsy accelerate to early versions of what I think they could be by mid-Summer the Brewers pitching is going to be unfair.
  25. Another round of cuts and 'demotions' to Minor League Camp:
