  1. Watching 'Ted Lasso' for the first time and I love it. The hype is real because the characters are all quite amazingly portrayed and developed. Sad to see there is only 2 seasons to binge. LOL.
  2. I personally never understand the disdain fans feel when a great player like Davante Adams, who played incredibly well and at a high level for nearly his entire career (rookie season and Year 2 aside) as a Packer and was absolutely the consummate professional throughout his time, makes a personal choice. Regardless of his greatness, he is a human being having his own experience. He grew up in the Bay area and loved the Raiders. He played college ball with Derek Carr. Have at it and see what you can do in your new situation! It's a Win/Win. In this situation, any ill-will or shadow-casting seems quite childish and petulant. I wish him nothing but the best. From the Packers side of things, knowing the history of Age 30 + WR's I personally think they dodged a major bullet. And, I am really looking forward to what comes from the new flexibility and wide-open WR room.
  3. Paying that amount of money to Deshaun Watson is some kind of something. Pair it with that amount of draft picks and, well, the Cleveland Browns are the Cleveland Browns for a reason. I imagine vetoing your 'No Trade' clause is a wee bit easier with that price tag attached on the other end. Goooooodness Gracious.
  4. Is it too early to start worrying about Kesty's impending season at the plate and failed career? Or is 2 ST AB's too early?
  5. That is a ST lineup extraordinaire. Very excited to see how Small translates to Big League bats.
  6. What this means is, to me, is the Ethan Small gains made post-finger injury last year are real. He legitimately lit up the Dominican League. I highly highly recommend visiting the Minor League Audio/Video thread and giving the Ethan Small interviews a listen. It is hard not to be really excited about Small's progress. He's a potential difference-maker. As to Houser/Lauer availability...I would have to think if the right package presented itself: absolutely available.
  7. Once again, the great Tony Pauline struck the Bullseye: (From March 3rd) https://www.profootballnetwork.com/nfl-free-agency-news-and-rumors-new-deal-for-preston-smith-and-who-do-the-broncos-want-as-starting-qb/ The man is Legendary when it comes to the NFL draft and he always gives these Combine nuggets and rumors from his decades of scouting and working the NFL circles.
  8. I have to agree with Andy here. It's incredible the amount of adversity Gutekunst has dealt with in his short tenure as a GM. I tip my cap to the magic he's helped co-create given the circumstances. The man is very good at his job.
  9. <p style="color:blue;">I'm curious if this works? We don't have a preview function BUT this is the HTML code for 'Blue Font'</p> OR do we use the 'Code' <> icon above to embed into the post? I shall try below: <p style="color:blue;">This might also work. We shall see.</p> LOL, I see none of these work. We soldier on.
  10. I approve of Joey Wiemer entering mlb's top 100. May he simply grow his hair long and may his locks flow and sparkle in the winds as he circles the bases.
  11. I would like to remind everyone of our performances minus Davante Adams since the 2019 season:
  12. I'm seeing lots of speculation at the moment. I'm sure the Packers are indeed looking at veteran options, however, and Golladay is most likely one of these given his history of high-level play across the NFC North venues.
  13. Well you can feel what you want about Bill O'Brien, i won't argue there. What I'm trying to say is the value received there is far less than what we received (a 2nd and a 4th and David Johnson with a 4th also going back to Arizona) and there are many in the League who feel Hopkins is as good or better. Beyond that, I am saying the value received seems very fair to me considering his age and the size of the contract. But, it's just my opinion.
  14. DeAndre Hopkins was literally traded last season. I'm unsure what you mean here.
  15. I am absolutely a fan of Davante as a professional athlete and Packer AND I still absolutely love this deal. You can't fathom paying a 30 yo WR who has some injury history that amount of money - at least, not in my book. Packers were willing to match and he simply wanted to get back to the West Coast and play with Carr. Win Win in my book. We now have draft ammo. This is awesome. 2 1's/2 2's/2 4's? Epic stuff.
  16. I'm going to start a new topic here for post-hand injury Devin. It would appear, we will be seeing an explicit effort to work on implementing his re-introduced Cutter/Slider he spent considerable time on in the off-season once his hand healed. Change-up (see article deets below) was not impacted by the injury is in mid-season form. It really seems as tho the young man learned from his mistake pre-Playoffs and is in Prime form. I, for one, am absolutely excited to see if he can implement a 3rd pitch to his already devastating 2-pitch arsenal. https://www.mlb.com/news/devin-williams-puts-wall-punch-behind-him I find this quite exciting. EDIT: Mods, I see we have a 2022 pitching thread way down yonder. Feel free to punt this in there if that is best. Didn't see it til now.
  17. Oh, I get it. I have no emotional attachments to it. I am merely speaking from a strictly 'fan of baseball' perspective. If I were a Braves fan seeing Freeman go to the Dodgers? I'm not all too thrilled about it regardless of the rationale and sensibility of the Olson signing - which I think is a good signing in its own right.
  18. Just some casual 'insider info' on our new punter: There were 4 teams in the Mix trying to sign him - including the dreaded Bear. Speaking to a couple diehard Bears fans, they claim O'Donnell was almost unilaterally made a Directional punter for the Bears coverage units. They claim, and I don't know if this is accurate or not as I would never choose to watch Bears games, they didn't really want him to use his full leg for the sake of their coverage units. Very consistent holder. Spot filled kickoffs and was decent. We shall see how he pans out in Green Bay. I am grateful they went conservative, tho, and nabbed a punter with 8 years experience in terrible weather. Edit to Add: After a very exciting start to the season for Bojo, I actually thought he stunk in the latter half and really stunk in meaningful games. He was all in all, a disappointment and most certainly played a part in the FG unit disasters. Glad to see him go, unfortunately. I had high hopes. There's a reason why the Rams held onto Hekker - who was a shell of himself last year.
  19. Agreed. There is also, from my vantage point, just a cognitive dissonance seeing Freeman in a Dodgers uniform. From a basic 'fan of the game' perspective it hurts. Freddie is a Brave for life. It stinks to see him finish his career in a Dodgers uni. Yuck.
  20. It would appear we are, yet again, searching for a new Punter. I have to agree with Bill here. After a great start, Bojo was fairly average and inconsistent. He struggled in the hold department. And, monster punts mean little if you can't locate consistently or outkick your coverage. Clearly, Bisaccia had a say in this as well.
  21. Absolutely agree. We need more 'feel good' in 2022. Good stuff.
  22. So, you're saying there's a chance:
  23. Yes indeed. They have been linked and, honestly, it excites me quite a bit. I personally think he's a diamond in the rough. Sky is the Limit. Pauline just bumped him into his Top 30 post-combine.
  24. From what I saw and read yesterday directly from Cobb's mouth: He expects to be a Packer on a different deal. The cut seems unlikely. I would show the quote here but I'm too lazy to go looking for it. Apologies.
