I see I missed a real pitcher’s duel in the first inning.

It's possible I'm wrong but I think teams might be a little cautious given how Burnes has pitched.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong there. He'll still net a big return, just maybe not as big as he would if he was pitching better.

Heyman thinks a trade is unlikely given the blowback of the Hader deal last deadline. I think he's right about that but also, he doesn't mention that Burnes hasn't really looked like Corbin Burnes this season. That alone makes a trade less appealing to the Brewers, as other teams are not going to offer 2021 Corbin Burnes prospect capital for this version of the pitcher. Also, the Brewers rotation is in shambles. Maybe that changes as we approach the deadline but I can't see Arnold repeating the Hader deal in the middle of a division race. -

I think it depends on the player. Taylor turned into a pretty nice player over the past few seasons and always offers defensive value. You let him struggle through some bumps and bruises offensively. But when it comes to a low-cost one-year player like Voit, the leash is (rightfully IMO) much shorter.

Canadians don't care but I think ten teams had yesterday off, and people in the US still want to tune into the game.

Great point. Yeah, I also like the less-unbalanced schedule and playing every team.

I like that schedule for MiLB but I'm not sure about using it in MLB. To be honest, I had never even considered it until you posted this.

True, disgrace might be overstating it a bit but it's still pretty dumb to not play baseball games on Memorial Day.

Heheh, like most people I'm a little disappointed in the Crew this season but the fact they're in first place despite losing their rotation is rather impressive. Where the disappointment comes in is how much better they could be if the offense would wake up.

I can't agree more. All 30 teams should play on Memorial Day, scheduling regular off-days on a holiday is really dumb.

Ultimately, that is the goal but we need traffic to bump a notch higher before we do it. As the forums self-generate more threads, we'll move the articles into their own forum permanently. And we're moving in the right direction, it just takes time. Traffic isn't enormously higher than it was a year ago but it's markedly higher. We routinely had under 1,000 people visit a day last year. We last dropped under 1,000 users in a day on March 19th this year.
