  1. Pretty hard to be excited about this in any way, shape, or form. Renfroe is a very capable bat on a team that badly needed capable bats last offseason.
  2. Whereabouts? I went to high school in San Diego and college at Long Beach State.
  3. Welcome to the site!
  4. Baseball was a very different world not all that long ago. As mentioned in the article, Sabathia started 17 games for the Brewers. He went seven or more innings in 13 of those starts.

  6. Jon Morosi has tweeted that the Mariners are inquiring on second baseman Kolten Wong. Even though Wong struggled on the defensive side of the ball last season, many expect some rebound in the area going into 2023. Coupled with his mini-breakout with the bat - posting a career high 118 OPS+ - he could be a very valuable player at $10m on a one-year deal. The Mariners took a big step forward in 2022, making the postseason for the first time in two decades, and they have the ability to easily absorb the contract (and a lot more). The Mariners' farm system has graduated a bunch of players but there are still some interesting names in their top prospect list. What do you think is a reasonable price for Kolten Wong on a one-year, $10m contract? View full rumor

  8. That's fair. I think the market on Abreu and/or Bell might end up being pretty soft, which is why I've mentioned them multiple times. I think at least one of them might end up being an under-market signing late in the offseason.

  10. I think there’s room for both Tellez and Abreu/Bell. This team could really use some right-handed pop in the middle of the order. Just swap out Hiura, whose reverse splits make him redundant alongside Tellez.

  12. Kyle knew this was a leap and wanted to have some fun with it. This is a game, that’s allowed. People seem to forget that at times.
  13. There's no need to be nasty about it. Yes, Kyle is a Brewers fan. And it's not unheard of to see the Brewers' colors referenced as either yellow or gold. I didn't even have to search for "brewers gold" and found this article from MLB itself that references gold a couple of times. https://www.mlb.com/news/why-brewers-colors-blue-yellow

  15. I moved this interview into the MiLB forum because there's no corresponding story to go with it. And let's all welcome @Francisco Castro to Brewer Fanatic, yet another addition to our amazing minor league group!
  16. Turang was as easy a choice as it comes. Also quite surprised by not protecting Robinson.

  18. His career platoon splits are somewhat volatile YoY but his 2022 platoon split was 157 OPS points. That’s a massive split.

  20. I like Tellez as much as the next person but I'm not all that concerned about what happens to him. He's fine as a poor man's righty-masher but this team badly needs more players without brutal platoon splits and more players who can hit left-handed pitching. It's just too easy to neutralize those players late in a game, particularly if your lineup has several of them.
