  1. And some of you seemed skeptical of a 90 Homerun outfield. We will have 90 out there with ease, barring injury and knocking on wood. Cameron 31 Hart 26 Braun 43 If the above numbers happen.. that's 100. Not by any means impossible. I know homeruns aren't everything just something I'm pointing out.
  2. JV lineup? Let's see: Braun - Check Fielder - Check Starting Catcher - Check All i see is 2 lefties in for 2 righties against a right-handed pitcher I like it.. Time for Nelson to flex.
  3. Casual observation: 6 of the top 10 prospects are in AA or higher. 3 of the top 10 are in AAA with Cain almost a lock to move up it seems. Question, though... What about Jeffress? If he shows command and continues to make people miss do you think they take the risk of moving him to AAA as well? Or do you think that they'd rather avoid the risk and hope he just has one solid year at AA as a confidence builder?
  4. How in the world does this happen? First no HD on opening day, then no HD for the home opener. Now no game at all because the Bucks are on? For crying out loud....
  5. Dang MLB Gameday. It flashed "Braun' RBI Single" accross the top right before he popped out... It was his highlight from earlier...
  6. Ha, that's funny. I'm getting FS Brewers The new box looks okay, probably much better once it's in HD.
  7. For those of you with DirecTV, most of you probably know this but every year you get a free preview of MLB Extra Innings and this year is no different. If the game is played today, and you really want the HD, Extra Innings has the San Francisco feed available. I might opt for this. San Fran's booth guys aren't too bad and it will be fun to hear them get all googly eyed over our young offensive talent.
  8. No HD today? Who the heck is making these decisions?
  9. No thanks. Jenkins might find a place with one of the bottom feeders, but that is not Milwaukee anymore, even if it IS supposed to be a "down year." However, it wouldn't shock me if he was forced to retire.
  10. JJ needs to man up and recognize what's best for the team. Escobar at SS and him at 2nd would be an amazing middle infield.
  11. Great news for Marlin fans. I've always loved the idea of a downtown ballpark, provided there is room to tailgate.
  12. If Rickie were a sausage i'd bet on him every time...
  13. Right now is the perfect time to start giving Rickie some training in CF. Cameron is on his way out and we'll need someone eventually anyway. Then again, he can barely play 2B the way it is, imagine if his infield practice were cut into by his outfield practice. We have a lot of options for next year, though. More talent is on the way.
  14. That's the first time i've seen that particular photo. Yet i get the feeling it is very old and i don't know why... digital wear?
  15. I am not ruling ANYONE out anymore. I am not surprised to hear this about A Rod, though... not at all. Guy is huge now. Griffey using steroids during the latter part of his career wouldn't surprise me and neither would Frank Thomas.. i don't care if the guy is tall, doesn't mean he HAS to be built like a house. It's possible, but i don't want it to be true. I used to wear the "Big Hurt" shoes for crying out loud!! I played KGjr Baseball for SNES!! One thing that DOES bother me... and i really don't want to even think this.... but A Rod took Ryan Braun "under his wing" while Ryan was making the transition to 3rd base... We now know how A Rod made that transition, although i'm positive it was more of a defensive thing that he and Braun talked about.. it's just.. horrible to even imagine.. nevermind..
  16. Shouse was solid, but for the first year and a half that he was here, especially that first partial year, it was almost painful to watch him.. i just KNEW that the big screw up was going to happen.. i KNEW that one of those frisbies that he would toss up was about to be pounded over the deepest wall of the stadium.. but it very seldom happened, and i came to trust in him very much.. sad to see him go, but a supplemental pick? awesome... no way we let him go if we are not rebuilding.. it just makes too much sense given the direction. however, that doesn't mean we can't surprise this year.
  17. I was NOT expecting that from Jim. Wow. Makes me very proud to be a part of this community and to have followed Jim's career here. I will definitely be looking forward to our series with Atlanta this year and i'll probably tune in once in a while to a random braves game here and there.
  18. By the way, i know losing Jim, CC, and Sheets hurts.. but i think we are forgetting the most painful loss: Brian Shouse
  19. At least it will make it easier to tell who is talking.... Yes, i admit it, sometimes i could not tell if it was Bob or Jim. But i just started listening to the games on the radio last summer... I was moving back to Wisconsin from San Diego, well, the girlfriend came along, and we arranged our driving time each day so that we'd be on the road when the Brewers were playing. I'd hook up my cell phone, which had MLB radio on it, to my car stereo and we'd cruise the open road and listen to Bob and Jim. Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, and then Minnesota.. It was magical, and i'll never forget it. Good luck, Jim.
  20. Fatter than Joey hit it right on the head. There are a lot of things that Fielder does wrong which can't be accounted for by stats. He can't pick balls out of the dirt, he's slow to the bag, he's slow to react, he isn't tall and cannot jump very high.. i almost feel bad for Rickie!! I'm not excusing the errors that Rickie makes but it's hard to improve when your first baseman is Fielder. With Fielder, he isn't going to save many errors, and he's going to make bad throws look even worse than they would if it were Derek Lee or someone.. Not a whole lot of players try as hard as he does, though... That's why i'll hate to see him go, when he does..
  21. I take it you weren't there for fan appreciation day? Gagne bought 5000 tickets and gave them away to Brewer fans. Very classy move, in my opinion. It doesn't take away from the fact that he was awful early in the season, but that donation, as well as his late season performance would be enough to keep our fans off his back for a while, especially if he were only making 3 mil per.
  22. You folks and your predictions.... Anyone who can tell me exactly who is going to win every division this year and is willing to put big money on it PM me and we'll do business. For everyone else, i advise that you stop worrying about "expectations" and just go into the season knowing we will probably be competitive. Competitive enough to win the Central or a World Series, i dont know. But, trust me on this, it's much more enjoyable to take it as it comes and just ride it out.. wherever this team is going.
  23. This may deserve a separate thread, but I would LOVE IT if they brought Hell's Bells to Miller Park, as well as turning the lights out before hand. However, i will understand if the San Diegans raise a fit because it really was a big part of their tradition. I spent almost 4 years out there and it was always an amazing feeling to be downtown, maybe dining in the outdoor section of some restaurant, then, all of a sudden you'd hear the bells start to toll. At that point you KNEW it was Trevor Time.
