  1. well that's great. did I provide an address when I signed up for the site?
  2. Nope, that's not it.
  3. You don't understand what "replacement level" means.
  4. He might be up on opening day, he might be held out for a couple of weeks to ensure he doesn't have a full year of service time, he might be held out until mid-june to avoid super-2, or he might not get called up until much later. I'd vote for being on the roster on opening day. I don't think Winker will be playing much in the OF. Anderson might.
  5. I think a 6 man rotation is a given, perhaps moving the big two up a day occasionally when their next turn would be on a day off.
  6. Rollie Fingers should be #1, no question. He won the MVP as a reliever. He frequently pitched multiple innings and didn't rack up saves as much as contemporary closers do. The Brewers have had many great seasons from closers, but no one compares to Fingers.
  7. There's a thread on Monte in the main forum. Don't need this.

  9. they should have Mitchell, Frelick, and Taylor splitting time in CF and RF, with some games at LF when Yelich is on the bench or DH.

  11. I'll tell my wife I can cheat on her now, since the first two decades were great. :-)
  12. I guess you didn't read my last two words, long term.
  13. I didn't read Law's write-up, if any, on Black, but I have to believe he thinks he'll stick at 2B. Brantley has been a very valuable player. 5-time All Star, as high as 3rd in MVP. I'd take that in a heartbeat.
  14. $26M says no. It might be a wash, long term.
  15. Bless your soul.
  16. If they are fungible players, the first one to sign will probably get the most.
  17. I hope the Brewers have the idea of starting Sal in the majors. They can always send him down if he's not hitting and save a year of service. There would be plenty of OF ABs with him, Mitchell, Taylor, and Yelich covering the 3 positions, with a few starts by Anderson in RF, and very few starts from Winker.
  18. Man, we really sold high on him, as well as the other guys in the Yelich trade. I had hopes for him, but his performance hasn't been age-appropriately good since 2017. He was as high as #49 from one of the big-three rankings (in the 70s for the other two). Lewis Brinson was as high as #12. Kinda provides perspective on our 4 OF prospects.
  19. I want to applaud you for the time it took to do that analysis. However, looking at the context of each HR is worse than evaluating a hitter's ability by their RBIs. There are already good ways to look at a hitter's production. Perhaps some day you will provide a better way of doing it, but it is not this day.
  20. It's the worst possible outcome. Frelick, Mitchell, and Taylor would all be better options in RF.
  21. When I was a little kid, I was at a game and Briggs made a catch against the wall right in front of me. He seemed huge. Baseball Ref. has him as 190#, but I can't imagine him being that light.
