  1. Per the Athletic: Lillard out indefinitely Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard has been diagnosed with a deep vein thrombosis (blood clots) in his right calf, the team announced. The team said Lillard has been put on blood-thinning medication and will continue to be tested regularly. 2. Interesting. There is very little intel out there on him. His high school recruiting was really low key also. I think he only visited Iowa and UW. FWIW I have seen rumors to Kansas, Creighton, Michigan and UW. So it will probably be somewhere else
  3. True. I had Tonje specifically in mind with that statement and Mincey would likely slot in as his replacement. I recall an interview with Gard where he was asked about his portal strategy and he answered something to the effect of, obviously they would take anyone that is the right fit for the program but they were particularly focused on more experienced players with 1 or 2 years of eligibility left. Of course, that may change from year to year as well.
  4. Of that list Mincey feels like a fit for what the Badgers do. He also has one year of eligibility left which squares with our portal MO
  5. The transfer portal is officially open today. Wisconsin will be active looking to fill several roster spots for next year
  6. HOTTY TODDY is doing some damage tonight. Total domination of ISU
  7. Yeah. I thought that last play was drawn up well getting Queen the ball, going to his left and down hill to the basket. That is tough to stop
  8. Colorado State seemed to control much of that game too- right up to the end
  9. HOTTY TODDY really took it to Iowa State in that first half which surprised me
  10. Great finish to the Maryland/Colorado State game
  11. I look forward to having a discussion about next year’s team. Hopefully we can retain Blackwell and Winter. I think we will need at least 2 if not 3 starter level players from the portal. That won’t be easy
  12. A lot to unpack from this game. Two things stand out most so far. One is a poor game from Winter with 6 points and 4 boards. Two is three points total from our bench.
  13. I’ve heard that too. I’ll believe it it when I see him in a Badger uniform. He’s gonna be expensive
  14. I hope we have a plan to surround him with a couple good veteran players from the portal or next year is going to be rough
  15. Buzzard is the old Marquette coach that used to live in a van down by the river right?
  16. Arkansas doesn’t play much zone. I think coach Cal has 3 bigs he can use for fouls. It will get interesting if he runs out of bigs though
  17. Good start to Arkansas/St. John’s. I presume Pitino knows he can switch to zone D at any time which Arkansas had trouble with v Kansas.
  18. I forgot about Riley. He looks to be a good one too. By the rules today, Illinois is not doing anything illegal to my knowledge. @LouisElyis also correct that international players can’t collect NIL revenue specifically
  19. Look no further than Illinois. They have two NBA bound international players. Those two did not forego being paid professionally in Europe to play for free in lovely Champaign. I don’t know exactly how but it is legal for them to be paid directly by donors. The NCAA has no way to enforce rules about payments anymore
  20. Maybe we some upsets today. McNeese, Arkansas and Drake are all double digit seeds I would give some chance of winning
  21. International players are certainly being paid. They just can’t cash in on NIL- legally- if I understand that correctly.
  22. The lack of upsets are going to lead to some big time matchups in the S16/E8 on a positive note
  23. Good call. Ole Miss needed all of that 900 point halftime lead as they nearly let it slip away but held on
