  1. I agree with @wiguy94 this is some good insight into our new manager. Love that his quotes were incorporated as well.
  2. I live in SEC territory and have watched Kentucky a few times this year. They have some really good players but don’t seem to gel well as a team. They also don’t play great D. I think Kolek will pick them apart honestly. Of course anything can happen in a one and done environment but I’ll be rooting for them
  3. Tony had a couple NBA caliber players on his title team and a good supporting cast as I recall
  4. No Marquette? I’m going crazy this year, I just don’t believe in the 1 seeds and there is little difference in the 2-4 seeds. I think at least one 7 seed or higher has made a final four in several of the last tournaments. FF- Auburn, Arizona, Texas, Wisconsin- because I have too I have Auburn over Texas in the championship. Samford or McNeese are Sweet 16 Cinderella’s for me. Drake is my dark horse for elite 8 run
  5. The Bennetts are good ball coaches. I’ll always be grateful to have that 2000 run to recall fondly. The thing I never understood about the offense they run is all the screening action to get an open jump shot. It just seems inefficient. Last night it seemed like VA missed a ton of 15-18 foot jump shots. Modern basketball is more about the three and getting to the rim
  6. In general I’m fine with the portal. But it is a mix of good and bad for sure. Right now I’m irritated that it is open for basketball during postseason tournament time taking attention off the game. I don’t recall the numbers for basketball but in football only something like 50% of players find a home once they enter. Rohde is a good example to highlight how things don’t always work out perfectly.
  7. Virginia is brutal. They have 19 points with less than 15 minutes left in the game
  8. I saw him quite a bit last year in Biloxi and he was fine defensively. I think he might just be pressing a bit with the managers attention on his D. He will get it turned around, he is a very good athlete.
  9. I tend to enjoy and watch historical themed shows. Masters of the Air just wrapped up and was great. Very similar in structure to how the Pacific series was done. Of interest to those in Wisconsin is one of the main characters the series spotlights is John Egan, who was born in Manitowoc. I am also watching Manhunt, the story of the hunt for John Wilkes Booth after the Lincoln assassination. Also started watching Shogun which has captured my interest somewhat as well
  10. Grambling State is down here in my neighborhood, about 3 hours north of me to be exact. They were supposed to play in Madison this season but that game got cancelled. It would be great for them to get a W and a reason I like the play-in games that were added.
  11. Maybe this is the reason for Chucky’s mood during the Selection Sunday Show
  12. Looking more at JMU, they have only played 5 quad 1-2 games and they only good win came against Michigan State in November. They were 19-0 in Q4 games this year. They just haven’t played much good competition. I like our chances
  13. Big East teams getting left out was definitely a bit of a shocker to me.
  14. I’m pretty happy with the draw if I’m Marquette. Should be pretty smooth sailing until the elite 8 IMO. Florida had a big injury today and the potential matchup with Kentucky favors Marquette. The only question is Kolek’s health but he should be well rested by now
  15. That was my initial reaction as well. Looking at it more JMU has the lowest RPI of the 12 seeds and I’m glad to not get UAB or GCU in round 1. Getting Dook potentially in Round 2 is tough but they are beatable. UW is playing some good ball right now so should be fun
  16. Chucky is a good on ball defender and has a nice step back j that would play in the league. But he is no where near the athlete that Carter or Smart are which is his major limitation as far as getting drafted
  17. Sounds like Wahl has been nursing an injury. He is in a bit of foul trouble again. Not sure how realistic it is but it would be nice to get that contribution from him
  18. Probably a horrible idea but I wonder if Gard would go with both Crowl and Winter together to see if we can’t do some interior damage on these guys
  19. Well UW hung with them for a half. Going to need to tighten up the D in the second half to have a chance
  20. Well said. The NCAA tournament is one of the best sporting events of the year. I love seeing the Ivy or HBCU teams get a chance to compete in the championship tournament. Just great drama and entertainment
  21. How about an NBA record for made 3s in a half with 18. 82 first half points! Who needs a defense?
  22. I agree UConn is a strong, deep team and probably the odds on favorite to win it all. Every other team has its warts. Should make for a great tournament this year with plenty of upsets
  23. Bobby Portis!
  24. Here’s one bracket forecast… Marquette looks good. I think UW may get to five, we’ll see
