You pretty much nailed it as far as the deficiencies on offense go. They need to play through the paint to be successful IMO. If they take care of the ball this half it would help too

There is a theory that UW is responsible for that after they beat Kentucky in the 2015 FF, Kentucky has never fully recovered

I agree. I’m good friends with our high school coach and we just had this conversation. Also of note is that it’s more difficult to get kids bought into playing D. Theoretically, shooting 3s should open the floor for driving lanes and get kids to the free throw line.

Houston is a different animal than Kentucky, they play D. Marquette will need to shoot it well to win that one. There is a sneaky Nebraska team that could potentially give Houston fits if they meet in round 2

Was Gus at the Big Ten tournament? I don’t recall seeing him there. There are several reports of Badgers reaching out to several transfers even though they don’t have an available scholarship unless someone leaves the program. Seems like one or more may be leaving but that’s how it is now
