  1. Agree. I don’t buy it either but it’s great that it’s been a while since Kentucky has been a title contender IMO
  2. There is a theory that UW is responsible for that after they beat Kentucky in the 2015 FF, Kentucky has never fully recovered
  3. Please no! May they sign him to a lifetime contract and be mired in mediocrity for all of time.
  4. I agree. I’m good friends with our high school coach and we just had this conversation. Also of note is that it’s more difficult to get kids bought into playing D. Theoretically, shooting 3s should open the floor for driving lanes and get kids to the free throw line.
  5. My reaction was….
  6. Houston is a different animal than Kentucky, they play D. Marquette will need to shoot it well to win that one. There is a sneaky Nebraska team that could potentially give Houston fits if they meet in round 2
  7. Was Gus at the Big Ten tournament? I don’t recall seeing him there. There are several reports of Badgers reaching out to several transfers even though they don’t have an available scholarship unless someone leaves the program. Seems like one or more may be leaving but that’s how it is now
  8. @patrickgpe doesn’t need to worry about that Kentucky team versus Marquette anymore
  9. Kentucky is going to need every whistle they can get the way it looks
  10. Nice to see the quintessential Kentucky D show up tonight
  11. I think Oakland heard you
  12. I agree with @wiguy94 this is some good insight into our new manager. Love that his quotes were incorporated as well.
  13. I live in SEC territory and have watched Kentucky a few times this year. They have some really good players but don’t seem to gel well as a team. They also don’t play great D. I think Kolek will pick them apart honestly. Of course anything can happen in a one and done environment but I’ll be rooting for them
  14. Tony had a couple NBA caliber players on his title team and a good supporting cast as I recall
  15. No Marquette? I’m going crazy this year, I just don’t believe in the 1 seeds and there is little difference in the 2-4 seeds. I think at least one 7 seed or higher has made a final four in several of the last tournaments. FF- Auburn, Arizona, Texas, Wisconsin- because I have too I have Auburn over Texas in the championship. Samford or McNeese are Sweet 16 Cinderella’s for me. Drake is my dark horse for elite 8 run
  16. The Bennetts are good ball coaches. I’ll always be grateful to have that 2000 run to recall fondly. The thing I never understood about the offense they run is all the screening action to get an open jump shot. It just seems inefficient. Last night it seemed like VA missed a ton of 15-18 foot jump shots. Modern basketball is more about the three and getting to the rim
  17. In general I’m fine with the portal. But it is a mix of good and bad for sure. Right now I’m irritated that it is open for basketball during postseason tournament time taking attention off the game. I don’t recall the numbers for basketball but in football only something like 50% of players find a home once they enter. Rohde is a good example to highlight how things don’t always work out perfectly.
  18. Virginia is brutal. They have 19 points with less than 15 minutes left in the game
  19. I saw him quite a bit last year in Biloxi and he was fine defensively. I think he might just be pressing a bit with the managers attention on his D. He will get it turned around, he is a very good athlete.
  20. I tend to enjoy and watch historical themed shows. Masters of the Air just wrapped up and was great. Very similar in structure to how the Pacific series was done. Of interest to those in Wisconsin is one of the main characters the series spotlights is John Egan, who was born in Manitowoc. I am also watching Manhunt, the story of the hunt for John Wilkes Booth after the Lincoln assassination. Also started watching Shogun which has captured my interest somewhat as well
  21. Grambling State is down here in my neighborhood, about 3 hours north of me to be exact. They were supposed to play in Madison this season but that game got cancelled. It would be great for them to get a W and a reason I like the play-in games that were added.
  22. Maybe this is the reason for Chucky’s mood during the Selection Sunday Show
  23. Looking more at JMU, they have only played 5 quad 1-2 games and they only good win came against Michigan State in November. They were 19-0 in Q4 games this year. They just haven’t played much good competition. I like our chances
  24. Big East teams getting left out was definitely a bit of a shocker to me.
