  1. I agree. But, as @sveumrules pointed out above his 66 wRC+ v RH pitching is not great. I watched Wiemer live several times last year in Biloxi and do not recall all the movement in the batters box as he's showing this year- everything is moving. Maybe he can work on some of his mechanics against lefties and improve as the year progresses. I love the guy and want to see him in the lineup everyday.
  2. Agree. Wiemer has had two injury shortened minor league seasons prior to this year where he played in a little over 100 games each season, I think. He's already near 100 games played this season- I think these days off are just needed rest
  3. Rory is off to a good start today. Conditions are not ideal, so scores might tighten-up a bit at the top
  4. I really enjoy it. Rory's not doing too bad either
  5. I think we will be pleasantly surprised by Sal. He is going to crush it.
  6. I believe Branch is the only true safety with a first round grade. Johnson, I've read, is looked at as more of a slot corner in the NFL. I'd guess Branch goes pretty high.
  7. I share your despair. The family spent some time this year in Nashville for New Year's, thankfully we stayed downtown. We did however take the kids to see the ice sculpture exhibit at Opryland. We ended up leaving right away. It probably didn't help that it was full of Kentucky football fans for the Music City Bowl game either.
  8. Can't believe you jinxed Giannis like that. The best thing about all this depth is giving Holliday, Giannis, and Lopez, who have logged big minutes so far this year, a little breather going into the playoffs.
  9. I'm curious what you all think of "Last of Us," so far? I am not a gamer so I'm not sure where it's going but I'm enjoying it.
  10. Has anyone come across any Bobby Portis news and when he is likely to return? I'm looking forward to seeing what becomes of this team at full strength and with the Crowder and Leonard additions.
  11. I took my daughter to the game tonight in NOLA. It was a fun game to attend. I was really impressed with how Jrue and Wes handled Zion most of the night. Ingles obviously showed some rust, but he will really help our 3-point shooting once he gets going, I hope.
  12. Good info, thanks. I did notice Jaraba has some power too. Will be fun to watch this young group develop

  14. Avina is definitely one I will keep an eye on next season. He needs to cut the K rate, but his raw power is impressive. I really liked Areinamo as well, he has shown some good plate discipline and contact skills plus plays pretty good D. Luis Castillo was another prospect I liked and would consider in this group, I think he was ultimately promoted to A ball as well. He was pretty similar to Areinamo with a bit more power as I recall.

  16. Love this topic, I am always looking for suggestions on what to read, just wish I had more time to do so. Most recently I have read In Cold Blood- Truman Capote, The Road- Cormac McCarthy, A Brief History of Time- Stephen Hawking and Band of Brothers- Stephen Ambrose. Nothing new but all good reads
  17. Mafe would be great if he's still be on the board, his combine performance has drawn a lot of attention though. Another edge I like is Karlaftis who might drop down the board a bit because of injury. I would love to see them be able to address this position in the first couple rounds
