  1. I took my daughter to the game tonight in NOLA. It was a fun game to attend. I was really impressed with how Jrue and Wes handled Zion most of the night. Ingles obviously showed some rust, but he will really help our 3-point shooting once he gets going, I hope.
  2. Evers is a great athlete and has a strong arm. It will be nice to see that true dual-threat QB play in Madison. I also saw that Brennan Armstrong from Virginia is visiting this weekend. He would be another nice addition to the team as Evers has only played one college game.
  3. You mean this guy?
  4. I can't think of a Badger in the last 30 years that compares to Connor Essegian. Herro is longer, more explosive athletically, and has a more complete offensive game than CE. For me Reddick is closer comparison. CE to this point is mostly a catch and shoot guy. He has a pretty quick release, comes off screens well and has a bit of a mid range game. To this point he hasn't shown much in the way of an ability to get to the rim and finish yet. He is young and raw but his future at the college level is bright. Should be fun to watch him develop.
  5. I came across some information on that recently. The number of transfers that find a new school is only somewhere around 50%. Your original team can, but has no obligation, to take you back as I understand it. Seems like it is a risk for certain players
  6. Probably best for him. He has arm talent, but needs work on accuracy and fundamentals. Also saw that Luke Fickell has offered a coaching position to Jim Leonhard, but JL needs time to figure out his next move as I suspected was the case.
  7. I believe it was his 40 time as @yourout suggested. He did not play much in space against the pass at UW, so he was looked at as a LB against the run mostly in the NFL. I would agree it was baffling though why he was undrafted given his production in college.
  8. Klesmit has been better than I expected. He has been the glue guy for this team. I would still like to see him be more assertive on the offensive end though- I think he defers too much to others when he has open looks It would have been nice to have that win versus Wake Forest, especially at home, but I would guess when we look back at that loss at the end of the season it won't look too bad. Wake has a chance to be really good IMO.
  9. Not sure it has ever been officially reported, but I have heard that JL's family was tired of moving and wants to stay put near Madison. Several people I know were not surprised to hear that he was staying. However, I would also note that it has not been made official by UW yet as far as I know.
  10. Current projections I have seen appear to be pretty much split between either Pinstripe or Guaranteed Rate. There was one scenario where BIG teams were knocked down a notch and would potentially put UW in Detroit.
  11. Agree. Not sure he has the explosive athleticism that the Blue Bloods desire, but he is a very skilled player. His footwork is good and he uses his left hand really well. Would love to see him at UW. Saw that a couple UW players were going to see him play tonight I think
  12. Sure looked like he took a hard knee to the gut on the fall. Hopefully its just precautionary and he didn't develop symptoms later.
  13. As of now Fickell has not reached out to the UC QB commit per reports. He will speak with the Badger QB commit today. I have seen a few decommits from the UC class just as there have been from the UW class. I would imagine there will be some more player movement once CLF gets his staff in place.
  14. I'm interested to see how this team comes together. I can see them playing small ball with Wahl at the 5 and going with 4 perimeter guys that can score against several teams. I recall reading somewhere that Wahl looked much improved as a shooter this summer. If he could even shoot from 12 feet consistently that would really help open up his overall game.
  15. FWIW, from what I've read thus far is basically that AD McIntosh is very high on Leonhard, didn't want to risk losing him this offseason to another program. The idea being that if Chryst turned things around, made a bowl game he may retain the HC position. He pounced on an opportunity to fire Chryst as he was unhappy with the direction of the program and give the HC audition to Leonhard. I guess it makes some sense given the surprising timing. I will be interested to hear more directly from each side. There is no guarantee Leonhard will get this turned around and at least a couple players have let it be known via public statements that they are not very happy with the firing- although they also like Leonhard. Lot of work to do for JL. Go Badgers!
  16. Yes, I realize I cherry picked the final 30AB to illustrate how he struggled over the last 30 ABs to finish the season. That was about the point that he had about a 100 point drop in his OPS which seems significant. I also acknowledged he was "white hot" prior to those 30 ABs. I am aware that if I continue add more at bats then his overall numbers will look better.
  17. All the hoopla about Ruiz seems to center around the fact that I pointed out how he "finished" the season. I based that on his final 30 ABs where he hit .200 with 2 Doubles and 8Ks and I distinctly remembered a multi-game hitless streak during that span. The fact is he was white-hot and had his OPS above .950 at one point in mid September. Then tailed off somewhat at the end of the season. No matter how he finished, he had an amazing overall season and is a top prospect- some struggles are going to happen from time to time with any player.
  18. He really is still developing his power yet too. If everything comes together for him you may be correct
  19. Absolutely. A few weeks ago that was almost a guaranteed strikeout
  20. The point was that a recency bias may have played a some part in my mind as I was going down the list. Ruiz's OPS dropped from somewhere around the .950s to the .850s during that 4-5 game hitless stretch starting around September 20 and I may have dropped him down a spot or two as that was fresh in my mind regarding him.
  21. I was referring to the 0-20 streak he had right near the end of the season. Not that it alone would have made a difference where I ranked him though.
  22. I like Ruiz quite a bit. I like the guys ranked above him even better. The way he finished the regular season, along with questions I still have about his power and defense are why he is 8, which I don't agree is low given the quality of the Brewers top prospects
