  1. This. I like Lane Thomas quite a bit, & have to admit I never thought of Joe. If they were rentals I'd be doing some serious talking, Their current status IMO makes them both less attractive and more expensive.
  2. Once things come to fruition, Yelichs' subpar arm is probably going to be a factor. You never know what a FO is thinking (or Yelich, for that matter) but a move to 1B makes sense on paper.
  3. What I want to know is, is Frelicks' debut worthy of national mention? I mean, 3-3, four productive ABs, two outstanding plays in RF, & was instrumental in his team winning a baseball game is all well & good, but more importantly, did he break any statcast records?
  4. Best overall comfort level for both at this time, with Wiemer spending so much time in CF. It wouldn't shock me if they're flipped in '24.
  5. Agree. I'm a big Joey Wiemer fan, but that was clearly a bad matchup for him at this point in his development.
  6. That's a tough lineup to get through, made tougher when you set the table for them. The walks to start the 2nd & 3rd innings were killers. On paper it cost us 2 runs, but you can make the argument it cost them more than that. Just a shame it took us into the 3rd AB of the ninth to decide to spit on the splitter. Easier said than done when behind in the count though. That's what I like about Devin & the changeup. He can throw it for strikes if he chooses.
  7. That's basically how we were able to acquire Tellez. I wouldn't be surprised if the FO is scouring other organizations looking for a similar fit.
  8. I liked a lot of what I saw from Peralta his last couple outings. When an AB or two didn't go his way, he didn't flinch. Held his composure, kept making pitches. He failed pretty miserably in that regard earlier this year.
  9. Long-term, I feel pretty strongly about Wiemer in RF. I just don't know if they'd mess with moving him right now. They're both more than capable of playing CF, which is a great "problem" to have.
  10. I noticed that in the highlights & even on his mugshots, he just looks solid. Makes his speed and baserunning instincts all the more impressive.
  11. He's been productive down there, no denying that. This is just a guess but I'd say the decision-makers don't trust his defense.
  12. Tayden Hall walked 3 more times tonite for Carolina, bringing his OBP up to a slowpitch-like .465. Also getting his hits. Hall is a big boy, if he can start to generate some power to go along with the approach that would be fun.
  13. Chances are they'll do *something* before the deadline regarding adding a bat. But if they don't it'll be real interesting to see what decisions are made. Black is on every Brewer fans' radar. As you said, Frelick is warming up. Then there's everyones' favorite soap opera, As the Hiura Turns. Urias could even hit his way back here.
  14. Looking at what the BP guys have done who are already here, then add to that Uribe coming up here and (mostly) throwing strikes--something I was concerned about--nah, I wouldn't want to put resources toward bringing Hader back. Much greater needs.
  15. The run-prevention machine is humming, combined with 2 or 3 guys starting to hit. That's usually all it takes. Big shout out to some of the people the organization identified as guys who could help if need be. You'd never give Monasterio or Perkins a 2nd thought when perusing the systems' talent, but they've been instrumental in wins. Even Jones was the difference maker in one game.
  16. Turang drove a few balls early in the season (remember the grand slam?), and it seemed to me like that got him out of his skin a little. What was frustrating to me wasn't just that he struggled, but HOW he was struggling. His approach should largely be based on the situation he finds himself in---outs, baserunners, even the score at the time. You want to see an aggressive mindset at the plate, but there's such a thing as being overly aggressive & I believe he's been guilty of that much of the season. A couple walks drawn today, and a couple recent ABs where he fell behind in the count & still drew walks, are IMO good signs for Brice. I think he's been "getting himself out" way too often much of the season.
  17. I'm with you on 5 of the 6. If they were willing to deal Blackmon I'd at least listen to what their thoughts were. He'd have to come real cheap though due to the age & the hand injury (things like that can linger). He also hasn't spent much time in the OF the last couple years. Your top three are mine too.
  18. I particularly got a kick out of the Bohm flyout in the 7th. Cameras squarely zoned in on trying to answer the question "How many rows deep did the HR travel?", while Perkins catches it in front of the wall.
  19. The thing I noticed was a number of those teams needed just about all those runs or they would've lost. And a couple DID lose. It'll be interesting to see how Jones looks at 2B.

Gasser gets my nod over Uribe simply by being a starter, I could go back & forth all day there. Big fan of Adams. I hope Eric Brown can enjoy sustained health as I feel he has a lot more to give (although I'm concerned a bit about his setup as are some others). Wouldn't be surprised if Zamora opens some eyes in AAA next year.
  21. I thought of Blackmon but didn't know when he was supposed to return. If soon, yeah, add him to the list.
  22. McMahon Ks a little too much for my liking but walks a lot which somewhat offsets that. He certainly has the versatility they like. He'd be a definite upgrade to the INF. I just don't know why Colorado would deal him, but we are talking Colorado here. At the end of the day it would probably have to be an overpay due to the years of control. Cron or Grichuk makes more sense.
  23. I think Adams is quite intriguing. I've liked Devanney for a while now but looks more & more like he's someone you can't pigeonhole into one spot going forward. The big question re Wilkin & Boeve IMO is which one of them eventually moves to 1B?
  24. Definitely a little more history of them doing it with pitchers. Jeff D'Amico skipped AAA as well.
