It was VERY impressive............and frustrating...............watching them go about their business today. Tight zone, and they recognized it. Their approach is the difference between Teheran going into the 7th inning, and having to leave after five. We never would've had similar success running up the pitch count b/c Gallen is really good. Still, he had only two 3-ball counts in seven innings, and it's no coincidence those were both successful ABs. It's not easy to grind out at-bats, esp vs a guy like they faced today, but the difference in approach was obvious, especially with the small zone. You seldom see a team successfully take as many pitches with 2 strikes as the D-Backs did this week. It wears on a pitcher. Under the circumstances it made Teherans' performance today all the more impressive.
