  1. The whole thing about Macha not being responsible for making terrible decisions in the dugout is over the top. He has no clue how to manage a MLB pitching staff. None. Was he given great pitchers to work with? Absolutely not. Has he made good decisions on how to use what he has? Again, absolutely not. Edit: There is enough data on Parra from the last couple of years to know that he is not capable of being a reliable "quality start" pitcher in the majors. Really, do you need to see more Pete?
  2. What freaking team has Macha been watching? Why put Cappy in when he should be starting in Parra's place in a couple of games? Heck, he could start for Parra, Bush, Narvy...seriously Macha?
  3. Unless Gamel is sent somewhere as part of a Fielder trade I cannot imagine that he would not be a starter somewhere for the Crew next season. Casey has been a nice surprise but I don't think that he has locked 3rd down for good...
  4. I agree with Louis Ely...License to Ill is always in my Ipod Touch playlist. Others: Metallica - MetallicaNaughty by Nature - 19 Naughty IIIBloodhound Gang - One Fierce Beer CoasterDr. Dre - The Chronic
  5. What a horrible off-season and then draft. Why, when there were other pitchers in the picture, would they not draft someone that did not have as strong of a commitment to a college? Stupid stupid stupid. Another fail by this GM and his regime.
  6. I'm happy for Diego. Hopefully he gets a chance at the postseason. I'm also posting to show the new pic of my so in my Avatar. He has a better looking swing than a lot of dudes in high school.
  7. 1 - Agree 2 - I don't care about the power numbers. I really want him to improve his plate discipline. Really, he should have the easiest path to a .400 obp on the team.3 - Agree4 - To me, it looks like he has really started to turn it around in the last couple of weeks. Maybe I'm only watching the games where he is getting hits but he looks ok to me.5 - Agree
  8. Yeah, well stop looking. Damnit Hart...don't be a moron!
  9. This organization has lost me. Eyeball test: Who is better, Cain or Gomez? Not a difficult answer to come up with...
  10. The T-Rats game was a good one tonight (2-1 Rats on a bases loaded balk in the 3rd or 4th inning). Krestalude, although he was effective, does not look like he will cut it at levels higher than A ball. He only hit 88 on the gun once that I saw and was sitting mainly at 84-85 on the stadium gun all night. He and Garfield kept the hitters off balance with their changes of speeds but a more polished line-up would seemingly feast on those 84 mph bp fastballs. Nieves was a whole different story though. While he looks like he will dislocate his elbow/shoulder on every pitch (at least from our angle...1st baseline next to the press box) he over-matched the Bees for his entire outing (4 2/3). His FB was consistently in the 87-89 range and touched 90 a couple of times. His change/breaking ball really had the Bees coming out of their shoes though. They could not wait back for it no matter how hard they tried and it was comical to watch at times. This was the 2nd time that I have seen him pitch this year and he has really been impressive both times. The offense was pretty blah this evening though DeVo showed that once he learns the strike zone a little better he could be lethal at the top of the line-up. Speed, speed and more speed. He swiped 2nd on a pitch that bounced in front of the plate. It didn't roll away...just bounced. As soon as it touched dirt he was going 100% to 2nd. While I'm sure there are guys that are faster than him in the system his zero to flying is very quick. Good game to be at after the rain delay.
  11. I heard Covey on some random public radio show this evening. He said that he plans to sign very soon. Sounds like he is a very religious person and he and his family prayed together about the decision. The earlier he signs the better (obviously).
  12. Please explain to me how Kottaras keeps getting all of the playing time when he is a 100% defensive liability. Can't block a ball, can't throw any harder than me (33 y/o "big" guy) and can't frame one single pitch during a game. Seriously, I hate to say it but I miss Jason Kendall's defense...which wasn't even that good!
  13. Small sample alert FTJ. I agree with TLB...he seems like he actually uses the "shorten up w/ 2 strikes" approach.
  14. I'm 100% with ya Crew07. This has to be the most defunct rotation situation in the last 3-4 years in MLB...seriously, are they really basing their decisions on the small samples? I really hope not...
  15. At least he was honest. I know that he is an employee and he is calling out his bosses but most guys would treat the situation with "kid gloves". Can you blame the guy for having an edge/mean streak at this point? He has been booed (probably rightfully so at times), taken to arby (his fault as well) and has probably read or heard his name in a bunch of "Hart to the XXX" rumors and threads. Hopefully the attitude turns in to a good thing for him.
  16. I just started reading back a bit in this thread and really laughed out loud after reading this. Nice.... Oh yeah, my favorite description for cooking steak: Waiter: How would you like your steaks cooked? Pepper: Oh, just knock its horns off, wipe its nasty ass, and chunk it right here on this plate.
  17. Chad - have you tried a grilling pan (with the holes in the bottom)? That works well for that style of wings...
  18. This umps strike zone is all over the place on gameday. Is it that bad live? Edit: duh, found other msg's that confirmed my question...
  19. This is the type of situation that warrants a firing of Macha. Talk about not knowing how to manage a pitching staff!!!!
  20. I know it's nice that he has three hits tonight, but he hasn't hit one ball squarely. He's been really lucky. Those even out over the course of the year though. Makes up for all of the line-outs and horrible pitches that he saw in the 8 hole...
  21. Wow, Gerut is really brutal. Too bad Cain hasn't been more health (healthier?) this season...
  22. Just popping in to say that I am SO GLAD that Escobar has been moved to the 2 hole. It must be a world of difference hitting in front of Braun and Fielder that pitcher and Weeks...
  23. I'm ready to mail in the season if he is not relieved of his closers spot. What a waste of money/wins for this year...
  24. I had trees that were nearly bent flat over in my yard. Also, from the creepy file...my son's swings were swinging in a circular pattern at the height of the storm. Crazy stuff...
  25. We are under a Tornado Warning here in Winnebago County! Good thing that it is going north of my home....
