  1. Why would Bogut get a suspension? He was not the aggressor and never threw a punch. Did you even watch the game nate?
  2. How many of them are 24 and able to produce at a high level as a 1b or DH for another 6 years? If a team is ready to sign Tex for 5-6 years they would more than likely prefer Fielder to any on those oldsters in your list (excpt for Dunn, who I believe is still under 30)...
  3. I've see Cain referred to as Eric Davis, Jr. a couple of times here at BFan...is this pretty accurate?
  4. What a game tonight! I write this as OT is about to start...but bucks2281 said it...what a gritty team!!
  5. Don't forget...Lesnar needs to cut about 5-7 more pounds. If you try to do that too quickly you will be weak (any of y'all that wrestled in HS can attest to this)....
  6. I'm guessing that Fielder could be a back-up plan for any team that wants Tex...but gets out-bid for his services...
  7. This is the deal that I was speaking with a bunch of guys at bowling about last night. Prince, Cameron and Suppan to NY for Cabrera, Cano, Hughes, Kennedy and another pitching prospect in the low or high A range. Do the Brewers get a stud back? Nope. Do they get value and clear the albatross that is Suppan? Yep... This would allow the team to move Weeks to CF like they should have done a couple of years ago. It would also clear room for the 1st baseman of the future...Mr. Mat Gamel. Having a full spring training should be enough to get him acclimated to the position. Yes, there is still a hole at 3rd but there are options (giving Hardy an extension and moving him to 3rd, Escobar taking over at SS...signing a stopgap for Tyler G)... Ok, now you can all rip this apart.
  8. I had a lot of trouble falling asleep and a customer of mine (who's hubby is a doctor) said that I should try to start a dream of doing something out in nature when I want to sleep. Now, I imagine that I am fishing and I cast a lure. When the lure hits the water I watch it sink, and without sounding like a quack, I typically fall asleep right away after that. I don't know why, but it works for me.
  9. How did he do this end? 5 yrs, 60 million was not a low-ball offer. For a guy that only has one real great talent I thought the offer may have been a bit high. He is destined to be a DH...and not many DH's get 12 mil per year to put up the numbers that Fielder did (or didn't). edit: to all of those people that say crap like "Milwaukee sports fans need their players not only to play well but to want to play in Milwaukee so much that they'll give up money to do so". Why are you spending so much time around other Milwaukee sports fans? If we are that inept at life why don't you find a team in New York, Chicago or So-Cal that can just float money all over.
  10. This does seem like the perfect time to trade Prince. Prince and Cam to the Yanks for Wang, Kennedy + would be fine with me...
  11. Aren't the Royals on a "Win no" kick right now? If so, they would probably want some MLB or MLB-ready players for him...
  12. I thought that yahoo mail was down but it is now working. That being said...which internet mail provider do y'all use? Which, in the Harvard-level opinions that we have here, is the best free option?
  13. Would Cameron be a bad RF'er? If Melvin was to find a deal for a lead-off CF'er that involves sending Hart on his way Cameron could slide to RF pretty easily IMO...
  14. Best Buy is bugging me. I have a 61" RCA Scenium DLP HDTV that has been broken for over 6 weeks. When I purchased the TV, I added the 4 year protection plan. Well, 3 years later my TV is dead and Best Buy doesn't seem to want to do anything. Next stop...legal help.
  15. I'm w/ ya ILDB. Minnesota just seems like a perfect fit...
  16. Ok, the World Series is over. GIVE US OUR ANNOUNCEMENT DOUG! Whew, I'm ready for the offseason to begin http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. While I realize that we all want this team to win we do need to remember that this was game 1 of year 1 of the rebuild/fix from the Larry Harris mess. Give Hammond and Skiles a chance before you get too ticked (not pointing at anyone in particular...just throwing it out there). At least the team seemed to play harder than they have in the past...that was nice to see.
  18. This is the thread that Menotti refers to: http://brewersfandemonium...reply/233183#reply-233183
  19. Russell Crowe. Any dude that can make the ladies swoon not only with his voice but with his multitude of styles is one I would like to emulate http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:d0VaS1BtWvkmmM:http://msnbcmedia4.msn.com/j/msnbc/Components/Photos/050531/050531_crowe_vmed_12p.widec.jpg http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:YzMcIXT_Psc0KM:http://anghelescu.net/render2/russell_crowe_716.jpg http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:wQ_HjlvdHghCVM:http://www.peoplequiz.com/images/bios/russell_crowe.jpg-2037.jpg A close second would be Colin Farrell for all of the same reasons. Luckily, my wife doesn't like guys like these...she likes guys like me http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. I could swear our current house is haunted. Some background information here: We live just off of Lake Butte des Morts which is French for Hill of the Dead due to the Indian burial mound in the vicinity. Depending on what articles you read about the history of the area there was a major Indian battle fought in the area that is now my subdivision. My son has a bunch of motion activated toys. Examples would be puzzles that make noises when you remove pieces, a jungle set that makes a screeching dragon sound when you move a specific part, a toy car dashboard w/ the steering wheel and a few buttons and a musical piano that plays several songs depending on what keys are pushed. These toys are what make me believe the house is haunted. The puzzle, even when all of the pieces are out, will randomly make a sound depicting when the horse piece is taken out. The dragon on the jungle set will randomly screech...even when the power button is turned off (doesn't happen now that we took the batteries out...thankfully). The toy car dashboard randomly makes noises that would sound EXACTLY like a child was steering and playing w/ the buttons/levers. Lastly, and the most frightening of them all, is the piano. It can be on the setting for songs and the song "Twinkle, Twinkle little star" will play at nearly the exact same time almost every time. Not every night, but every time it plays it is 10:30 PM. Just at the end of the news...like someone is telling us that it is now time to go to bed. I never believed in ghosts or hauntings until we built this house...
  21. This is why I don't think this has even a remote chance of happening. I just don't see them moving their only real player to add only one other player. If they were even possibly going to consider a deal w/ Zimmerman they would probably be looking for a Sexson type of deal. Multiple pieces to make their horrid team better...and that doesn't fit with the current Brewers.
  22. The only way Prince winds up w/ the Nats is if there is another team involved. Bernadina (don't know much about him) looks good in the minors but so did Laynce Nix...otherwise they have more junk than most teams. Is this more about linking your team to a big name to boost your fan's spirits than actually target a player?
  23. Wow end, do you even read the posts before you fire off something negative? Get a clue...sheesh.
  24. Wow, I sure love being pigeon-holed into a category...thanks end. Nowhere did I mention contract. I just can't stand how athletes are given a free pass for their attitude/actions because they can hit the ball. Truthfully, he can only play have of the game at a major league level but he is given a free pass because he has hit 50 homers in a season. Heck, Mark McGwire has hit 70 homers in a season...but that doesn't mean that he will ever again...
  25. Nope, not really. If he wasn't such a jerk I would leave that part out of my posts. Comparison: Would you trade for Milton Bradley without discussing his attitude/behavior?He's a jerk? Really? I hadn't heard that. I've certainly heard about his issues with his dad (which is no one's business anyway), and he's been quoted as complaining about his contract a bit...then there was the one incident with Manny Parra. If stuff like that qualifies him as a jerk, then quite a few baseball players are "jerks." Maybe we can field an entire team of David Eckstein type "good guys", though. Assaulting your teammate in the full view of the public where there are countless children watching makes you a jerk. Pouting noticeably in the field during a game that that you are losing makes you a jerk. Acting like an immature, coddled child and throwing tantrums when you strike out makes you a jerk.
