  1. Nope, not really. If he wasn't such a jerk I would leave that part out of my posts. Comparison: Would you trade for Milton Bradley without discussing his attitude/behavior?
  2. I would include the teams that may need a first baseman for the next year or two as well. While he is not good in the field by any stretch of the imagination he would be a viable option for another year or two...IMO. That said...GOOD RIDDANCE Prince. Grow up and play ball!!
  3. I know that this has been touched on before but wouldn't 3rd be worth a try as well?
  4. I think that a lot of the people here understand that rluz...but the general media needs to cater to the multitudes of bandwagon fans that wouldn't understand this concept...
  5. I vote that we ban anyone that posts GARBAGE like what bball123h just did. Not funny...or nice!!! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:s6fLFkfiboFQ0M:http://sarge.wheresthebeef.co.uk/Misc/BANHAMMER.png
  6. While I want it to [expletive] for deer hunting I am with fortheloveofweeks...I do not want as much [expletive] this year so the ice is stronger on the lakes!!
  7. I had the same reaction...except mine was preceded by "Oh ...." Congrats Jack...though we have a bunch of picks that you could have had fun with this year!!
  8. Oh the irony! I was speaking with a pal of mine from Minneapolis this morning and he mentioned that Hardy would look great in their infield. He thought that Baker or Slowey would be a good starting point with a prospect. I think that he overvalues Hardy (either that or I undervalue him)...
  9. We actually just yanked him out of a store this evening due to a tantrum. The only thing that stopped the tantrum was putting him in his car seat and ignoring him (while my wife was still shopping). It then turned into an "I want Mommy" tantrum. He turned a really neat shade of red and screamed until his voice wouldn't work any more. We got home and he spent another 2 minutes in time out...alone in his room. IT WORKED!! He stopped crying, said he was sorry for being naughty and said that he didn't want timeouts anymore. We let him know that every time he threw a tantrum he would be put in his room for 2 minutes. 2 minutes is an eternity for my kid to sit alone in a room so that "threat" may just work http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. I'll do King Kong and the Dirty Dozen if still available. I too, made too quick of a call on the platform...
  11. Thanks for the suggestions all! MNShady hit the nail on the head w/ the "We struggle because we try so hard to make sure we have a happy home, and it is heartbreaking sometimes to have to take things away and make him sad. We have to remind ourselves daily that we have to think big picture and not just focus on the short-term. " portion. We are trying so hard to not be the rough, strict and disciplinarian parents. But at the same time, we realize that we are the parents and not his buddies. This is very tough as my son and I are "fishing buddies" and "bowling buddies". I am going to try the loss of fun things from DOA and the I'm not talking to you until he has something nice to say approach from JimH because if my little boy would go without us speaking to him while in the same room for 3 minutes he would almost go crazy. Thanks again for the suggestions!!
  12. This could be the ultimate time for a 3 team trade involving Peavy, Prince Fielder and a bunch of prospects from an AL team.
  13. Are there any other parents out here that have children in the 2-3.5 y/o range? My son is 3 months short of 3 years old and is obviously right in the middle of the terrible two's. He is learning phrases like "shut up" and "I hate you" at daycare of late and those seem to be getting to my wife and I. He also insists on doing everything by himself and if we try to help with anything like putting his socks/shoes on he throws himself on the floor and screams bloody murder! I know that patience is a virtue but I mine is starting to fray a bit. Do any of you have any tips or tricks on how you were able to break these types of habits? I'm not much of the "I'll give you a treat if you stop doing that" type but I am willing to try almost anything.
  14. I have Alltel and can honestly say that I have never lost a call. I have US Crapular for my work phone and I do not get reception at my house near Oshkosh...they have really gone down hill.
  15. Bradley and Fielder in the same locker room? Now way, more than one pitcher would get assaulted during the season....
  16. You can also probably buy a new 30-30 for about the same as what you would pay for a used 270...
  17. Just another tidbit about being a mobile hunter. I would also consider something like the old fashioned 30-30. I have a 32 Winchester Special that I only bring out on drive days because it does not weigh all that much and it has open sights (Weaver side scope). Truely, it is the perfect walking/marsh driving gun in my opinion. Just my $.02
  18. That's good to know. I didn't look up his stats before I posted that...my bad.
  19. Buster Olney just reported on Sportscenter that Peavy and Greene will probably be packaged in the same deal. Who needs a shortstop in the NL? Those teams are the ones that the Padres will target. Would Greene, Escobar, Hardy, Gamel be a good infied? (Or Hardy, Escobar, Greene, Gamel)
  20. I would try budsguns.com. I have not been there for a long time but they had great prices in the past. Whatever you do, if you get a good price take it to Gander Mountain. They will either meet or beat the price. I traditionally would rather buy a gun from a big place like that as they are easier to work with if there is a problem...
  21. I usually agree with most of what you post end but not in this case. Hall has good lateral range but he cannot make the plays that a 3rd baseman needs to make. He is horrible at coming in on bunts/swinging bunts, he has a good but very erratic arm (not good with a stumpy load on 1st) and he does not seem to have the mental ability to understand where the ball needs to go when there are men on. Good SS? Yep. Good 3rd sacker? Not in my opinion...
  22. I have been one of the loudest advocates for getting rid of Prince Fielder since his dugout tantrum that could have hurt Manny Parra...and have voiced my opinion here and there on several threads. There are others that want to see Hall/Counsell booted away from 3rd (booted...just works with Hall). Some are ready to get Corey Hart out of MKE. Then, finally, there is the group that is skewering Rickie Weeks. Lets just put it in one place to discuss it instead of in all of the other various threads. Which two Brewers position players would you ship out if you had the authority (and could get a reasonable return). You really don't need to come up with trade ideas here...just let us know who needs to go (leave the GM'ing up to Doug Melvin...and that). I'll start: 1. Prince Fielder needs to be in the American League. He is horrible on defense and will not get any better as long as his weight keeps going up. I also think that his "intensity" and "grit" are bad for the clubhouse because he doesn't use them in a positive way. He throws tantrums, attacks other players and carries it out on the field with him. Bad dude with a worse attitude. I'd also like to add the Boras factor to my list. 2. Bill Hall needs to be traded to a team that needs an everyday shortstop. Even though his numbers were horrid in 2008 he still has a bunch of value at short. He is still athletic enough to play the position and I think that he would just be more comfortable there in the long run. To me, it seems like he has been lost with all of the shuffling on the diamond. Get him back to his original position and let him work everything else out.
  23. If that were true the Brewers' pitching staff would have had the lowest team ERA in a generation!Error-caused runs do not hit the ERA. Fielder had 17 errors this year and missed too many scoops to count. To me, he is the worst 1st baseman in the league...hands down.
  24. Well then you're better off keeping Prince and applying the money to signing a pitcher. Not really in my opinion. Prince needs to be in the AL...and soon. He is not a 1st baseman by any stretch of the imagination...and this is costing the team runs nearly on a nightly basis.
