  1. Rome just said that Braun will be on next hour (12:00 - 1:00 central)...
  2. Supposedly there was a Cougar in my rural subdivision last night (near Omro). I didn't see it but one of the neighbors heard it "screaming" and called the police at 2:00 AM...
  3. Russell Branyan doesn't jump, the Earth dips at his command.
  4. While I disagree w/ MSC's call on locking my other thread, I'll put this here. With Prince starting to heat up (small sample, I know) my question is this: Is Prince about to get an extension or get traded? Remember a few weeks ago when Braun started to get hot he got his extension? Is this Princes time now as well? My vote: He'll get traded to the LA Angels of Anaheim, Orange County, California, USA...North America within 2 - 3 weeks.

  6. Wow, #14 in OPS...with the talent he has he should be in the top 5 if he was in shape. Also, the crap defense he plays knocks a lot of the luster off if the 14 ranking...
  7. I'm not saying that a DFA is in order...but crap, he is not a big league 1st baseman right now. He has eaten his way into a DH role about 4 -5 years earlier that I had imagined.
  8. IIRC, it was the one that hit off of the roadrunner sign in Right Center field. Ding, ding, ding...we have a winner. This is the one that I was referring to as well...
  9. When does Prince's total lack of production get noticed? Seriously, he isn't hitting like a 1st baseman, he can't field at the easiest position on the diamond, he can't run from 1st to 3rd w/out still gasping for air at the end of the next half inning. I'm not skinny, but I'm not a Major League baseball player either. Prince is just flat out fat and that is hurting this team. How many other MLB players would have needed to be held at 3rd on the Hart should-be triple? Big Papi, D. Young, and a couple of catchers? Seriously, Prince needs to get in shape or get the heck out of the National League. He is terrible this year.
  10. To me, that seemed like a modest tape that evening. I was in the Dew Deck for the game on a company function and can honestly say we all thought that he hit it 500 feet. It was that big of a shot...
  11. Yep...basically they probably just chopped and inserted to create the 5/4 (or 7/4 as you mentioned). I thought that Dream Theatre was pretty original until I started hearing trends there as well....
  12. Update: 40 games in and Hammer (the Brewers new catcher) has 22 homers. I'd say that I have found my groove http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Braun has 12 homers, Prince has 13 and Rickie has 14. Not a bad top four of the line-up...
  13. Hi all - I know that there are some softball junkies around here. What are the top 3 or 4 bats that are available (ASA of course) for this year? I just bought a new Demarini Doublewall Distance but would like to add one more to the collection... Thanks, Hammer
  14. Ned and Mike must have been getting coffee while Ben was struggling. C'mon skip, get the pitcher out of the game when he is obviously tired. NOT after he has given up 6 runs. Sheesh.
  15. Well, after about 15 games or so I was ready to say "screw it!" and get used to sucking at this game. Then the hit parade began!! I switched to veteran, started to pick where I wanted to swing and have hit TONS of homers and scored a bunch of runs. I rule again!!!!
  16. http://www.arcadeshopper.com/mame/images/hammer.jpgMurphy defined: tool
  17. I teach in Brookfield and still do a couple lessons for WFB students that came to me when I had a house on top of UWM during college. The drumlines are Brookfield Central, New Berlin Eisenhower and Palmyra-Eagle. I have to ask if your picture is from Oktoberfest in Lax since that's one of the few parades where t-shirts and beer cans in hand are allowed. (as if the drumline doesn't have a flask in their stick bags) Yep...Oktoberfest in LaX. I was a member of their drumline for 4 years and now have graduated to the Alumni band for the past 7 years. Good times!
  18. How is the squeeze a perfect call there? All they needed was a fly ball. Sure, Kendall hits a lot of ground balls, but squeezing with the bases loaded is not a good call.
  19. Ned Yost's mind: Where amazing happens. A suicide squeeze w/ one out and the bases loaded? Yost, you are a genius.
  20. Where do you do this at? That is exactly what I started to do as a major in college but changed to business after my Junior year. <---------------- Outside Sales Professional in the Fox Valley (Office Products, Furniture and Janitorial products). Are there any buyers in here?
  21. I like the Hart/Rios comparison and think that if Hart and a pitching prospect could get Lincecum you would have to do it right now. With Gamel and Laporta in the minors ready to fill a corner spot this seems really quite logical. As to Corey being the CF'r of the future...I think we saw a taste of our future CF'r earlier this season. Is Milwaukee ready for a Category 5 Hurricane any time soon? http://www.brewerfan.net/ViewPlayerProfile.do?playerId=295 - for those that don't understand...
  22. Are they really allowed to play that stuff on the organ during the at-bats (just as the ball leaves the pitchers hand)? That seems like an artificial distraction...
  23. This game is kicking my "I rule at video games" self esteem. I am through 20 games and have only hit 12 homers. That is just killing me!! Even worse is the fact that I have lost 3 games and have a team era of around 3.90...on a freaking video game! Oh yeah, one other thing. Why do my players need days off so often? My guys usually go the full 162 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  24. Don't laugh, but here is my scenario: Gamel learns to play a passable 3rd base and gets the bump to AAA at mid-season. Weeks struggles this entire year. Hall remains Bill Hall. Carries 3 gloves to the ballpark again starting next year. 2009 Gamel at 3rd for the big club. Hall at 2nd (and super sub), Weeks to the bench as a pinch hitter w/ pop and a pinch runner. Of course, this hinges on Gamel learing to play a passable 3rd base. Also, I know that Weeks still has a chance to shine this year w/ the bat but will his defense ever stop the Crew from moving on? I really doubt it. I realize that this is hard for a lot of guys to grasp because we have never really had "good" players at all 8 spots but this is what happens when you have a good team. There are fan favorites/3-4 year starters that will get replaced by a better player. It's good to be a Brewers fan...
  25. I'm not saying that the offense doesn't get some blame here...they really do. I AM saying that Yost cost the game by making the error in judgement at the last point of the game when it was on the line. If he would have followed common sense and played the infield at DP depth the team would have had another chance to win a tie game...not come from 3 behind. It is all about putting your team in a position to succeed...and he is not doing this 100% of the time.
