  1. I'd wish you a happy birthday if you were a drummer... Just kidding. You can look at it this way...you are now only 40 years from retirement http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:xgWr9_c1oBg73M:http://eatourbrains.com/EoB/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/troll.jpg I agree though, that scenario is not very realistic. Kerry Wood probably couldn't find his way to the mound right now... Mound: "Hi Kerry - I'm over here." Wood: "Wow, I haven't seen you in ages. How've you been old buddy?"
  3. I hate Gateway Computers as well as Best Buy. Enough said...
  4. I'm in the Fox Valley and it says I am getting the Timberwolves game on DirecTv. Ack...
  5. Hi all, Do any of you know a repair place in the Fox Valley that would be able to solder the DC jack back in to place on a nearly new Gateway laptop (out of warranty by a month)? Or, is it all that hard to do? Gateway said that they would replace the motherboard instead of fixing this one and that would be nearly as expensive as getting a brand new laptop. This is not in my plans... Thanks... Hammer
  6. Guys, this is baseball...not soccer or volleyball. Plus, the dude is a catcher. If you don't want to get plowed over in a spring training game, don't block the plate. If you put yourself in that position you are asking to get cracked. If the guy from Tampa let up and went in softly or slid around the catcher he could just have easily gotten injured (hand/elbow/shoulder to knee of catcher hurts person sliding, not the catcher). Also, Joe Girardi has nothing to say here. There is no bigger "red-ass" in baseball right now...plus he was a catcher. He should know full well that his man is not out there in a red jersey or a skirt. Sheesh.
  7. What is the perfect margarita? One that is served to you while sitting on the beach in Cancun during spring break. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif My wife actually likes the Jose Cuervo mix when I make her the blended strawberry variety. I add some fresh strawberrys and use a margarita salt on the rim of the glass. She thinks I should be a bartender for a living after a couple of these...
  8. Tommy Boy, Happy Gilmore, Super Troopers, Old School and Beer Fest in that order for me... Great memory: My nephew saw Tommy Boy once when he was 3 years old...just once. From that day until he was about 5 he said "Ah, sunnova, that'll leave a mark" every time he bumped in to something. Good stuff...
  9. I guess ballplayers don't get all of the chicks...
  10. Quick poll - I have a PS2. Which game is best for my format...The Show or 2K? I need to get a new game since I haven't purchased one in 4 or 5 years...
  11. I am really surprised that Donnie Brasco lasted a whole page w/out a mention. Very good movie in my opinion. 1) Godfather II 2) Donnie Brasco 3) Godfather 4) The Departed 5) Scarface

  13. My wife and I went to Riveria Maya, just south of Playa del Carmen in Mexico. We stayed at the Adventura Spa Palace Resort and LOVED every minute of it. It was all inclusive, every type of booze/beer that you could ever want and ALL ADULT. Now, there wasn't any hanky panky on the pool side but there weren't any kids knocking over your drinks near the pool (or pee-ing in it!!) either. I would recommend this place every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Here is the link... http://www.palaceresorts.com/Resorts/AventuraSpaPalace/Index.asp We booked ours through Apple Vacations and were very pleased.
  14. I know! All of the immature conversation that would follow would really jeopardise the integrity of this fine website...
  15. Wherever you go, do not go to Egypt! I agree though, go to Brussels... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,333173,00.html http://www.foxnews.com/images/347657/0_21_022708_starved_student01.jpg
  16. Were you with the Alumni band or the Eagles? If you were with the Alumni you and I have marched together in the past http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif If you can make it through this parade w/out being loaded you are not even thinking about beer. Man, my second Alumni parade (2001) I drank a total of 28 beers on the parade route w/out paying for one of them. It was like beer heaven!
  17. Here I am, drinking a beer while marching down the street in the Oktoberfest parade in La Crosse. I like beer, and I also like marching so finding a picture of both kind of makes sense http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. My wife doesn't have an account but she said that I should have picked the new song from Tim McGraw. If you're reading this And My mama's sitting there Looks like I only got a one-way ticket over here I sure wish I could give you one more kiss And war was just a game we played when we were kids Well I'm laying down my gun I'm hanging up my boots I'm up here with God And we're BOTH watching over you So lay me down In that open field out on the edge of town And know my soul Is where my momma always prayed that it would go And if you're reading this I'm already home If you're reading this Half way around the world I won't be there to see the birth of our little girl I hope she looks like you I hope she fights like me Stands up for the innocent and the weak I'm laying down my gun I'm hanging up my boots Tell dad I don't regret that I followed in his shoes So lay me down In that open field out on the edge of town And know my soul Is where my momma always prayed that it would go And if you're reading this I'm already home If you're reading this There's gonna come a day When you move on and find someone else And that's okay Just remember this I'm in a better place Where soldiers live in peace And angels sing Amazing Grace So lay me down In that open field out on the edge of town And know my soul Is where my momma always prayed that it would go And if you're reading this If you're reading this I'm already home
  19. I still listen to this song quite a bit. Don't know why, but the lyrics work or me. November Rain When I look into your eyes I can see a love restrained But darlin' when I hold you Don't you know I feel the same 'Cause nothin' lasts forever And we both know hearts can change And it's hard to hold a candle In the cold November rain We've been through this such a long long time Just tryin' to kill the pain But lovers always come and lovers always go An no one's really sure who's lettin' go today Walking away If we could take the time to lay it on the line I could rest my head Just knowin' that you were mine All mine So if you want to love me then darlin' don't refrain Or I'll just end up walkin' In the cold November rain Do you need some time...on your own Do you need some time...all alone Everybody needs some time...on their own Don't you know you need some time...all alone I know it's hard to keep an open heart When even friends seem out to harm you But if you could heal a broken heart Wouldn't time be out to charm you Sometimes I need some time...on my own Sometimes I need some time...all alone Everybody needs some time...on their own Don't you know you need some time...all alone And when your fears subside And shadows still remain, ohhh yeahhh I know that you can love me When there's no one left to blame So never mind the darkness We still can find a way 'Cause nothin' lasts forever Even cold November rain Don't ya think that you need somebody Don't ya think that you need someone Everybody needs somebody You're not the only one You're not the only one
  20. I ate ramen two meals a day for about 3 years. Nothing but the chicken and the beef. If you have some carrots those add a good crunch to the ramen. Also, add another one to the tally of people that drain nearly all of the water out. Good stuff.
  21. Herb really needs to sell the team if he rejected that trade. What a crock of GARBAGE! Why is there even a GM on the payroll? Now I know why I was ready to stop watching the Bucks for good...
  22. I just downloaded Ad-Aware and it is not free. It is $39.99...
  23. I would have to add to the Justin Timberlake "guilty pleasures" column. Every time his "live" concert airs on HBO I stop, watch and say "damn, I wish I could do that" a few times. Dream Theater lands in my cd player once in a while as well. The last one is a true "guilty" event. I like to listen to the Drumline soundtrack as well as my college marching band discs periodically. I'm a drum bum at heart (see avatar) I guess...
  24. The Knight Rider theme was pretty cool to hear again. I'd say Monday Night Football, The Jim Rome Show, Dukes of Hazard (as previously mentioned) and one that stops me from doing everything else when it comes back on....the theme from 24. Yes, it is only two synthesized notes but it is very distinguishable from the commercials.
  25. Dad: Son, why did you tear this years Ned Yost baseball card in half? Son: Because he doesn't use that part of the card anyway...
