  1. Wouldn't it be nice if Burnes had a dominant 2nd half?
  2. That took a perfect throw. You send him 100% of the time and it’s a run 95% of the time.
  3. Seems like a Yankees or Dodgers move. Wouldn't put it past the Rays, either, honestly
  4. I never said he shouldn't be DFA'd. I'm just explaining why Winker's not in the lineup against a RHP, because it's the same case as the last time Winker wasn't in the lineup against a RHP.
  5. Looking at pictures of Corbin, Devin, and Josh hanging out at the ASG, it got me thinking whether reacquiring Josh at the deadline could have the exact opposite effect on the clubhouse as last year...I don't think we need another late-inning reliever, but I wouldn't exactly be opposed to it for that reason, in addition to deepening an already strong high-leverage bullpen.
  6. The reason he's not in the lineup is because Caratini is catching for Burnes and they still want to get Contreras' bat in the lineup.
  7. No. I wouldn't.
  8. They take into account McLean, De La Cruz, and Votto. But they also take into account the fact that those guys, among several others, are unlikely to replicate that production over the remainder of the season. It's more forward-looking.
  9. I believe that, of 100 simulations, the Cardinals end up winning the division 5 times out of 100. Which is what I think the point of the projections are.
  10. The selling teams are going to want future pieces and not just our retreads or castoffs.
  11. I’m not saying I’m not concerned about the Reds or that we shouldn’t be, because I am and we should. But, despite their white hot streak and their current one game divisional lead on the Brewers, fangraphs still puts them about 20% back of the Brewers and less likely than not to make the playoffs. Which tells you they’re not sold on the Reds being as good as they’ve played for the last month plus. Meanwhile, the Brewers are right about where they have been most of the year and are more likely than not to win the division and make the postseason.
  12. Not exactly. It amounts to 54.5% vs. 30.3%. Close for sure, but Brewers still the favorite they have been the whole season.
  13. There's zero similarity between Perez and Chourio. Chourio tore up A ball and forced his way up to AA at 18. Perez has never hit and can't make it out of A ball. Chourio is 19 in AA. Literally the only one in all of baseball, and still is on pace for a 20/40 season.
  14. Yeah. An arm like Hader is nice, but unnecessary. Corner OF/IF bats (with the exception of LF) a different story...
  15. I know this isn't the "official poll", but given how we still have a couple days until play resumes, I thought it would be fun to post my tentative top 20 after the draft. Quero #3 after Chourio and Mis. Mostly because of the premium tools of those guys. Nothing wrong with #3 in this system. 1) Chourio 2) Misiorowski 3) Quero 4) Frelick 5) Lara 6) Black 7) Gasser 8) Uribe 9) Wilken 10) Pratt 11) Carlos F. Rodriguez 12) EBJ 13) Yophery Rodriguez 14) Guilarte 15) Bitonti 16) Knoth 17) Jarvis 18) Boeve 19) Moore 20) Henderson This farm system is in such great shape. Best it's been since we were briefly ranked #1 in 2016. And we haven't had to go through a teardown like we did then.
  16. If there's any all-star game I'm watching it's MLB.
  17. William Contreras has already surpassed his fWAR from last year (2.5)....Charlie Greene and co. have turned him into one of the best all-around catchers in the game.
  18. Looks like the Brewers are going to be shut out from this all-star game.
  19. Oh no, they did suggest that. Multiple times.
  20. You probably should’ve put it in blue font considering there’s certain people on here who have sincerely made that very claim.
  21. Yelich has a full no-trade clause.... Not to mention he's their best hitter right now in a lineup that is short of good hitters.
