  1. That would be Marlins Yelich.
  2. Anybody paying attention knows that you throw out a healthy Burnes, Woodruff, and Peralta out there in a 5/7 game series and you have as good a shot as any at making a run in the crapshoot that is the MLB postseason. The roster out there now is also far from our ideal roster due to injuries. The fact that we are where we are right now despite that is a testament to how good this team is.
  3. Trading Hader for "peanuts"? We got Contreras and Payamps because of that deal....
  4. I stand corrected. I would like to see a swap for Toro.
  5. Steve Kerr is the one the Bucks should hire. Him, Nick Nurse, or Ty Lue.
  6. With Owen Miller performing like he currently is, including against LHP, I can't help but wonder if Brosseau should just be DFA'd at this point. Liability in the field and has been too mediocre against LHP since joining the Brewers
  7. Lol. Like you haven't been any less typically condescending towards me. Please. Results are numbers. But advanced metrics help clarify/put into context those results and what we can expect in terms of results in the future.
  8. Not really considering he had a 31.5% K rate last year... You can be as mad as you want about how they're using him. I'm just telling you like it is. Voit will be gone before Winker.
  9. Voit hasn't looked the part of anything. He's K'ing 35% of the time and hasn't shown any power either. Winker at least makes contact and gets on base as good as anybody in the lineup. And for a team that otherwise struggles to get on base... Bottom line is we traded for Winker. Voit was a minor league free agent signing. Winker has more leeway.
  10. Nice job by him putting the ball into the OF. I feared he was going to K.
  11. Huge SSSA. Winker is better at getting on base than Voit.
  12. To be fair, he did start out hot in April/May last year and then was brutal the rest of the season.
  13. I would pinch hit Caratini here and go for the win...
  14. Between this guy, Chapman, Staumont, and Barlow, Royals have some really nice bullpen arms.
  15. Maybe Voit would fare better if he got to face more RHP, but Winker has been getting on base and making contact while Voit hasn't been doing anything.
  16. Because he was throwing 2 MPH slower, was terrible after April last year, proceeded to quit on the Yankees, and was previously suspended under the league's domestic abuse policy...
  17. I was reacting to the "you can't convince me with numbers"...
  18. Yeah. You're right. Sweet spot% is probably better. I wasn't making the argument that he's back to MVP Yelich suddenly, but we're seeing some stuff that we haven't seen in a few years with his batted ball data.
  19. "Average Launch Angle (aLA) is calculated by dividing the sum of all Launch Angles by all Batted Ball Events." https://www.mlb.com/glossary/statcast/launch-angle It's a statistic that measures how much a hitter is elevating the ball on average. Yelich is elevating the ball as much as he did in 2018 as well as hitting the ball as hard on average as he did that season. =a very good combination that hasn't been present over the past few years. Statistics are more reliable and objective than the eye test. But you do you.
  20. Love Turang's future, but it will be nice to have Urias back in about a month...
  21. Gotta give Yeli his props, though, right?
  22. With some assistance from the home plate ump...
  23. Bring on the automated strike zone. These guys are terrible at their jobs.
