    That's besides the point. It happened under their watch. And now he's left the Brewers and is back to being an above average hitter. I wouldn't say we don't have any free swingers on our team either....

    It's not just a hitting coach. It's the system you build, too. Atlanta is the best example. They consistently develop hitters and then get peak production out of the guys they bring in (see, Arcia, Orlando). It's the opposite with the Brewers. On pitching side we're in really good shape. But we're lagging behind with how we develop/coach hitting. And you're seeing that on the field.

    Well, McCutchen's approach totally changed with the Brewers, and he became a below average hitter for the first time in his career as a result. He left the Brewers and is once again an above average hitter driven by a patient approach. So, yes, I ascribe some blame to our coaching staff for letting that happen under their watch. We get the non-Brewers version of McCutchen, and we potentially make the playoffs given how close we were. He's not the first hitter they've messed up (see. Hiura, Keston) Our hitting system and coaching is a real problem.

    Here's CC's answer to my question. I'm not buying it. You pitch whoever of your top 5 relievers is in the best shape for one inning to get the win. That was Wilson in this case. Seems clear though that Matt Bush is going to be DFA'd before tomorrow's game. Pannone probably getting sent back down, too.

    I need to hear from Counsell why Wilson wasn't available out of the pen tonight. I'm 99% sure we win the game if he pitches the 9th.

    Obviously, mathematically they don't have a 0% chance. I'm just saying they're not making the playoffs this year, and I feel fully comfortable making that statement.
