  1. This is the liveliest Pittsburgh crowd I've seen in years. In a game they're down by 4, too.
  2. This isn't even correct. The Cardinals were 8.5 games out of the WC on 9/1/11. Give me a link for the fangraphs% you got from 2011 because I haven't been able to find it.
  3. Thank you, Brice Turang. That holds off the Payamps discussion for now.
  4. Days matter more than pitches, if it's not an excessive #.
  5. That's not that excessive for two games. Otherwise, he threw last Sunday and Tuesday and that's it. Better situation compared to Williams, who's thrown 4/5 games including 26 last night; Milner, who's thrown 5/6; and Peguero, who's thrown 5/6.
  6. I think if it's a one run game in the 9th, they'd bring in Payamps.
  7. If you're going to bring Freddy out for the 6th, have him face Santana, too, who is worse against righties.
  8. McCutchen is a case study for how bad our hitting system is.
  9. If that's the reliever market, then the Brewers should definitely try to reacquire Hader.
  10. Bido is lucky we have the Contreras brother we do.
  11. The Pirates would be absolutely stupid to buy. Their fans deserve it, but this team isn't ready yet.
  12. You're one of the few remaining holdouts, a la. the Japanese in the 1950s/60s. The math isn't there, nor is the pitching.
  13. SSS, but Tapia has been way below replacement level for the Brewers. If he doesn't start hitting within the next week, I think you gotta cut bait.
  14. Good god. I'd rather see Winker in the lineup than Tapia. At least Brian Reynolds is on the IL currently.
  15. Why should we remove all stats from COL? Should we do the same with Brent Suter's from this year? Lamet hasn't been a major league caliber pitcher since 2020. It wouldn't make a difference where he pitched.
  16. It's not like we don't need help against RHP, though.
  17. I'm ready to call it. 2023 St. Louis Cardinals, TOD: 6/29/23, 21:30 CST. The Cardinals don't have the pitching to make the sort of run they'd need to at this point.
  18. Does anyone think there's a good reason, with us in a playoff race and absolutely desperate for hitting, why Black shouldn't be called up to the majors directly from AA? Hit tool is ready and as ready as it'll ever get. I get the Brewers don't typically do that, but I think this is a unique player and situation. He'd probably put up at minimum a .380 OBP, which would be the best on the team.
