  1. I personally don't think you can say anybody other than Sal Frelick for best pure hitter in the system.
  2. Or Jordan Montgomery, Chris Sale, Walker Buehler, Garrett Crochet, Tyler Glasnow, etc. in recent years And then Jeffrey Springs, Robbie Ray, Tyler Mahle, Kris Bubic in the last month alone.... And this, "In my experience, flexor strains led to Tommy John more than they didn't." https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/samson-why-sale-may-eventually-need-tommy-john-surgery-to-fix-elbow-issue/ Also this, https://www.drahmadsportsmedicine.com/forearm-muscle-strains-alarming-relationship-ucl-injuries/ And then this, "Rasmussen...was placed on the 60 day IL the next day with a right flexor tendon strain. Tampa Bay hasn't officially announced he will undergo Tommy John surgery, but that is the only direction this is heading, according to our panel of doctors" https://www.fanduel.com/theduel/posts/drew-rasmussen-join-growing-list-of-pitchers-out-for-season-after-tommy-john-surgery-01h0djz3vjft Can't argue with a bloviator...
  3. Would be nice. It's not like he's had a huge# of at bats in the majors.
  4. Flexor strain, which he is currently on the 60 day IL for, is almost always a precursor to TJ. Again, only 2 pitchers in history have even returned to MLB from a 3rd TJ surgery, and they were both relievers.
  5. Is this a spoof? First of all, he's literally never been a .sub-700 OPS bat in his career. He's only 14 points underwater now despite being mired in a huge slump. Literally, zero reason to think it won't find its way well above that mark by the end of the season. They don't print stats from Mid-May on the baseball card. Second of all, no way are there a dozen SS in baseball who are as good as Willy on defense. That's just a ridiculous comment. Finally, since the trade: Rasmussen 5.8 bWAR, Adames 8.9 bWAR And now Rasmussen is likely to undergo TJ surgery for the 3rd time. Only TWO pitchers in MLB history have ever returned to the majors after 3 TJ surgeries, and none of them have been as effective. But, yes, we'd be better off with Rasmussen instead of Adames...
  6. It's hard to beat the Cardinals AND the Umps.
  7. 3rd Tommy John surgery seems like a very big deal to me. And when has Adames been a sub .700 OPS shortstop? I'll clue you in. He hasn't. We're in the middle of May. Talk to me at the end of the season. Willy's been worth 1.0 WAR primarily off his defense alone.
  8. Yeah. The guy who is about to have his 3rd TJ surgery...
  9. 2 runs that wouldn't have counted had the umpire called Donovan out of the basepath or Rowdy made the throw. Several of those baserunners were off of infield hits, too. It was a fine start. Probably the best he's looked since the Arizona start. Offense is the one that didn't do its job.
  10. It's a lot to ask a guy to get 4 outs against this lineup.
  11. No way was that a mediocre start from Corbin. His defense failed him the whole night.
  12. I don't think he actually touched the bag there.
  13. Are you kidding me, ump? Not even close to a strike...
  14. I don't know what you can do when Contreras is one of the best hitters against LHP in baseball...It's like it's in their heads.
  15. Best sequence he's had all year. Hit all of his spots, even the sinker.
  16. Lol. Statcast is saying that would've been a HR in 18/30 ballparks, including St. Louis...
  17. That's a HR. *NVM thought it hit the railing.
  18. So, that's the player on the Cards defense that's going to rob us of a run?
