    Oh yes it was. You may not have been but there were people here talking about the Pirates’ hot streak as legit. They cooled off and we shouldn’t be surprised to see the Reds cool off as well. They are relying a ton on rookies, unproven players, and well past their prime guys. I’m not saying our lineup is good or anything, but I wouldn’t be using batting average to make your case in the year 2023.

    Key will be Peralta's start tomorrow. For as inconsistent as our offense has been, Freddy's been rivaling them lately. More all-star Freddy and less bad Freddy.

    It's really annoying how many of our pitchers have lost a tick or two off their fastball this year.

    Starting pitching, Joey Votto, etc. Plus their rookies will have their bumps, too. I am skeptical of them winning the division this year. Next year on, all bets are off.

    A 1.5 game lead is not "taking control of the division". They're on a good run right now, but there's still good reason to be skeptical of them.

    Sad thing is if we had this version of Teheran last year in place of Chi Chi and Alexander, we make the playoffs...Oh well better late than never.

    So as to not get my hopes up, I'm fully expecting this to be the game where Tehran comes back to reality and Gallen shuts us out for 7/8 innings (as he usually does) with the aid of the afternoon shadows and our impotent bats.

    Tyler Black is the type of hitter we could probably call up to the big leagues right now, and we'd get a .380 OBP out of him at minimum. Tempting if we wanted to jettison Rowdy and/or Winker.
