  1. Never in doubt. Win #1 in the books. Hope Devin is okay when he shows up tomorrow.
  2. Good stuff Bush. Would be nice if he could keep the HRs under control and lock down the 8th...
  3. Braunie still hasn't had his number retired...
  4. What the heck Bellinger. Not only was that a strike, but you were struck out on the pitch before that, too....
  5. Cardinals are winning 3-0, but Flaherty has 7 walks in 2.1 innings and is struggling to top 90 mph. A guy they're asking to return to second half 2019 levels....
  6. But that's not what you said. is it? You said, "struggle to finish above .500", let alone be playoff CONTENDERS as a result of Urias being out for 6-8 weeks. If you had just said the above, I would have agreed with you...
  7. Good inning Woody. Looks like Swanson is going to replace Contreras in torturing us…
  8. About 50-60% per most sites which actually handicap and model this sort of stuff…
  9. I see it’s going to be like this. Hard hit balls for outs. Elevate that a bit Contreras.
  10. Lol. I wouldn't say a 6-8 week injury to Urias is something that would doom our playoff chances, particularly 1 GAME into the season, unless you adopt the most pessimistic perspective....Urias is good, but not irreplacable like a Burnes, Woodruff, Williams, etc. are.
  11. Figured I'd get the conversation started with a little over an hour until the scheduled game time. Feel free to pin or replace mods. We'll see if the game starts on time as the weather report says it's currently raining in CHI. Game will almost certainly be played though, as the precipitation chance is pretty much zero after 2:00. Wiemer making his debut in CF and batting 9th. A great day to get the first win of the season!
  12. Seriously, though, it's kinda sad that Frelick is going to be the last one to be called up of that group, when he's arguably earned it more than any of them...
  13. This is good. Let the best players play. Then, if they produce, give them financial security and buy out 1-2 FA years.
  14. I think Reynolds from Wyoming one of them, which would be a decent add if he took over Kamari as the back-up ball handler. He's more athletic than our other players and can get to the rim. I just don't think he's cut out for a featured role, though, as his efficiency numbers weren't the greatest at a mid-major. Not sure about the other one, though....I'd be very happy with Mast.
  15. This is why you acquire as many live arms as possible..
  16. Rohde also had a 22 PER as a Freshman and shot better from three as the season went on, including .40% from 3 in February/March. Jordan Davis is a Junior who had a 11.6 PER...There's a reason why a lot of big name schools are after Rohde...
  17. After watching Urias limp off after that slide, I wonder if we’ll be seeing one of Wiemer/Frelick sooner than later…
  18. Oh well. Just 1 of 162. We obviously didn’t come ready to play. Hope they’re ready on Saturday. Jays up 3-0 at least.
