  1. Pretty sure I never touted him as a sure-fire prospect and was concerned with the high BB rate and lack of an effective 3rd pitch. It seems sometimes as if your sole purpose is to try to mess with me.
  2. https://www.justbaseball.com/prospects/2022-mlb-top-100-prospects/ Brewers with 6 top 100 prospects in this list which was released last week. Chourio (#11), Frelick (#41), Turang (#58), Wiemer (#64), Ruiz (#92), Gasser (#99). All but Chourio finished the year in AAA. There's one area that you can use to improve the team this offseason, whether by bringing them up to the big-league club or trading them for established talent.
  3. Latest was at the deadline after the Hader trade. I severely doubt things have changed that much, even with them now having missed the postseason.
  4. You do realize that those were put out before Frelick proceeded to demolish AAA pitching, right? Far from unreasonable to assume that he will move up there from 46, which is where he is currently listed on MLB pipeline.
  5. As of right now, the Brewers are only committed to Yelich ($26 million), Peralta ($3.5), and Ashby ($1.2 million) for next season. Cain, Wong, McCutchen, etc. are all likely coming off the books. That is significant flexibility even when you figure in the raises Burnes, Woodruff, and Devin are set to get.
  6. Right. And is why I started by pointing you all towards Stearns' and Attanasio's previous statements on the subject, which have consistently been a hard "no".
  7. Then the Jays are overestimating his worth and will have to go into next season with three catchers on their roster (or stash Moreno in AAA for the entire season). Frelick is a top 30 prospect right now and should fetch a proven all-star, not one who, while displaying impressive production with the bat this season, has yet to sustain that production throughout the course of an entire season.
  8. Another option, as well. There is definitely room for improvement out there with the increased payroll flexibility and our revamped farm system. A full-fledged rebuild is unnecessary at this point and a step too far.
  9. No. Frelick would be too much imo. Jansen is really good, but he hasn't sustained his production over 100 games at this point. Frelick is also one of the guys that we will need to reshape our offense into a more contact-oriented outfit.
  10. Feliciano is a butcher on defense right now, and hasn't even shown that much with the bat lately. I'd be careful what you wish for.
  11. Trading Hader wasn't as much about the money as much as it was realizing it wasn't in the best interest of the franchise to attempt to resign him, and that we should attempt to maximize his value while he still has a significant amount left.
  12. One of our top OF prospects gets you very close. I would definitely consider parting with Wiemer, Ruiz, or Mitchell in such a scenario.
  13. Last 4 years is an even bigger trend FWIW....And there are definitely ways to improve the bullpen and the offense. For example, one of the moves I've been advocating for that is well-within the realm of possibility is acquiring one of the Jays three catchers (e.g., Danny Jansen). That's a huge upgrade right there. Regardless, as I've reiterated, a rebuild isn't going to happen this offseason given what Attanasio and Stearns have previously stated and its certain ramifications for attendance.
  14. You do realize we will finish just barely out of the playoffs this year? And that's with pretty much everything going wrong....
  15. A rebuild is literally just taking proven players and trading for more prospects, so that argument kind of falls flat on its face lol. Which, if they don't pan out, makes you the Pittsburgh Pirates. Again, mid 80s in wins this year. Slightly better health on the pitching side of things this year and we likely make the playoffs. They're really not that far from being a World Series-contending ball-club and have the payroll/prospect capital to make another go at things in the offseason.
  16. Even if payroll doesn't go up, we're still set to shed a significant amount from this year's payroll. That will be used to improve the team. Mid 80s in wins this year. Just slightly better offense and bullpen (with better health from the starting pitching) and you're back at 90 wins and right in the thick of things. That will also keep fans in the stands, which is what Attanasio ultimately cares about. IF they are for some reason out of contention by next deadline, then that's when you would potentially see something like a rebuild take place. But not this offseason.
  17. At least they showed some fight. That's all you can ask for.
  18. Attanasio cares about fans in the stands. And there won't be fans in the stands for at least a couple years if that's the route management takes. So, no, not likely at all, regardless of if you think they are ultimately capable of winning a World Series. I will say that having your rotation fronted by Burnes, Woodruff. and Peralta with a closer like Devin is a great start to building a World Series team. Even a slight improvement from the offense and the bullpen and this team is right back to winning 90 games.
  19. Rebuilds are way easier said than done. For every Astros success story you get a Pirates-type situation where you find yourselves never able to get out of rebuild mode. They are also going out of vogue in baseball operations circles. And, perhaps most importantly for Attanasio and ownership, you're basically guaranteeing an empty Am Fam Field for a couple years or so even if everything works out perfectly. The prerequisites for a good team, namely elite pitching, are already there, so why mess with that if you can potentially fix your other holes in the offseason through some shrewd maneuvering?
  20. This is a team that is more than capable of returning to the playoffs (and even winning the division) next year. Two of top 10 pitchers in the game (and another top 25 pitcher). One of the best relievers in the game. Some really exciting and promising prospects on the literal doorsteps of the majors. They can get younger and more exciting and compete for the playoffs at the same time. It's the best of both worlds for Attanasio and the fans.
  21. Why would you think that given how Stearns said that ownership and the fans will never have the appetite for a full rebuild and when we're still coming off a 95 win season last year (and 3 postseason campaigns before that)? It's a disappointing finish to the season for sure, but a full-fledged rebuild is the least likely of scenarios.
  22. What a pathetic pack of crybabies this team has turned out to be.
  23. Starting to understand why the Rays were willing to part with Brosseau....Very overrated imo
