  1. From a dictionary standpoint, yes. From a scientific standpoint, not exactly. https://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/earth-round.html https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/earth-is-not-round/
  2. Yes, but not perfectly round due to its rotation which causes it to "bulge".
  3. Actually it's an ellipsoid. I would know, as I majored in astronomy.
  4. And when did I say that Corbin was more deserving of the Cy Young this year than him? Pretty sure that I didn't. What I said is that Corbin is still the reigning Cy Young winner. As Brock stated, the Marlins offense is bad but it's not the worst in the league by virtually every metric.
  5. If he could shoot, I think he'd have some serious NBA potential due to his defensive versatility. His body-type has always reminded me of Dekker's. Just doesn't have as polished an offensive game. You are right in that he will have some nice opportunities beyond basketball, but so did Ethan Happ, and he chose to come back for the extra year. I hope he does, as he's always been my favorite player since his freshman year when I sat behind him in class lol
  6. All you can do is win all of your games at this point.
  7. Right, because I initially responded to one of his posts sarcastically and not the other way around.
  8. Either way you slice the pie though, the Marlins are actually not the worst offense in the "league".
  9. Yeah. With his defense, I'd imagine you're looking at something like a 5 WAR player.
  10. I believe Alcantara plays for the Marlins and not the Tigers/Pirates.
  11. I am getting very excited about Garrett Mitchell....
  12. Corbin be like, "That's still my Cy Young Award!"
  13. Cardinals would be World Series favorites this year if they hadn't traded for Ozuna.
  14. I can see them moving Yelich to DH more in the future to pave the way for Mitchell, Frelick, Wiemer, and Ruiz. Renfroe will probably stay as the main right-fielder, which allows you to transition the younger guys to the majors without exposing them too much on what should be a contending ballclub.
  15. Peralta was sitting 95-96 and facing a righty in Garcia. Was not a "relatively easy decision" when you consider the alternative was Boxberger.
  16. I don't get how CC was being "foolish". He went to one of the better pitchers in the game to try to get a multiple inning save with Devin likely down. Was he supposed to go to Bush or Boxberger? Those guys haven't exactly inspired optimism recently.
  17. You mean high? And yeah, in general, it probably is, but if the Brewers convert on one or two of the several opportunities that they had with multiple men on last night and you're looking at a 5/6-4 victory instead of a 4-2 loss.
  18. Well, the offense also had many chances to put the game out of reach, yet couldn't score outside one inning.
  19. Can't manufacture a run if you don't make contact with one out. Nice try, though.
  20. Offense pretty much cost them last night already...
  21. Would make sense as he has no legitimate NBA prospects unless he suddenly turns into a 35% (at least) three-point shooter. Lights will never be brighter for him than in college, so might as well suck as much as you can out of it.
