  1. ESPN released an article today from Kiley McDaniel ranking the best young players in baseball by age group (behind a paywall) https://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/41013727/mlb-ranking-baseball-best-players-prospects-every-age-16-25-2024 #1 in the 2004 age group is Jackson Chourio. He is the only one in that age group in the major leagues, with only two other guys even being in AAA and they were just recently called up for a "cup of coffee" within the past two weeks or so. Chourio has over 400 MLB ABs of above average production and is on pace for only the third 20-20 season by a player that young in history. Good news doesn't end there, however. Cooper Pratt takes up the 9 spot in the 2004 age bracket behind Chourio. Luke Adams is described as "just missed". Move up to 2006, and the Brewers have the #8 player in DSL SS Luis Pena. McDaniel describes Pena as one of the "breakout players in the league this summer". And to top it all off, one Jesus Made takes the #1 spot in the 2007 age cohort. Who does he rank ahead of? Only Ethan Holliday, the consensus favorite to be the #1 pick in next summer's draft who many scouts describe as being more talented than his brother, and Jacob Lombard, the early frontrunner to be the #1 pick in 2026. Brewers are tied with the Padres for most #1 players at 2. Even though it's still really early for these guys, it goes without saying, I think, that this type of stuff is how you win a WS.

  2. Some rough batted ball luck for the Brewers there. Contreras and Hoskins were both over .500 xBA.
  3. First multi-homer game against Webb all season....
  4. So depressing seeing Hudson struggle to top 90 MPH with his fastball now.
  5. It's technically 21 because we own both tiebreakers. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2024/07/22/milwaukee-brewers-magic-number-teams-to-watch-schedule/74497776007/
  6. I see you're really emotional about all this and not going to give it up, so I'll do you the favor and bow out. Feel free to keep talking to yourself, though, and I really hope you're able to get past this.
  7. Webb is definitely really good, but if there's a silver lining it's that he gives up a ton of hard contact (47% hard hit rate). So, if they can elevate the ball, which is easier said than done with Webb's sinker/changeup combo, they can put some pressure on him.
  8. FIFY. Maybe another 24 hours will be enough for you to get over it?
  9. Adames projected to clear 9 figures as expected. Love Willy, but I'm fine moving on and getting a draft pick for that especially with his recent defensive struggles.
  10. There is zero irony because a) I'm not even the poster who pointed that out I was agreeing with another poster and b) the plain wording of the post was right there and was pretty much impossible to be interpreted any other way according to the meaning of the words used whereas Turbo is questioning the intent behind my posts and claiming he knows my intent (which exists only in my brain) better than I do which is pretty audacious. Btw, nice resurrecting a day old argument. lol. Hopefully by tomorrow you and Turbo will get over it.
  11. MLB Umpire's Union is the real enemy of the people.
  12. Yep. That looks like the Ashby of old.
  13. I'll take 6 innings like this from Montas. Should only have given up two runs. Brewers have done well with him so far.
  14. In the end, I'd like to think I know what I'm thinking better than you do. And that you asserting otherwise does ironically reek of the very superiority you're supposedly calling out. Regardless, nothing "failed" because Montas was screwed over by CB Bucknor.
