  1. Thanks a lot Renfroe. Traded in a BB for a groundout.
  2. Bullpen has really struggled to hold leads lately, with the exception of Hader.
  3. This is a slight exaggeration. Hader didn't outright "refuse". Rather, he and team management had a discussion and agreed that it is better for both him and the team to be used in one-inning spirts, as opposed to being used for multiple innings and then having to take multiple days off for rest.
  4. Honestly, I'm kind of hoping at this point that Hiura is the position player that is sent down when Urias comes back. Not necessarily because of his results thus far, but just so the guy can get regular at bats. Justified or not, Counsell is doing him no favors right now.
  5. I'm amazed that we hit even one home run the past two days....Rowdy screwed again
  6. Hall of Fame/Barry Bonds-level Yelich is never coming back. However, I refuse to rule out the possibility of him becoming a good hitter for us again. After all, just look at the Giants and the Reds last year. Votto, Posey, and Crawford were all aging vets on high priced contracts who looked dead in the water going on a few years, yet enjoyed career-type years and played key roles on contenders. That's what the hope has to be for us moving forward. And Yelich is 3-5 years younger than those guys were, too.
  7. Okay got the win. All is well. Thank God for the Pirates.
  8. Lingering effects of the back-end of the bullpen being unable to do its freaking job yesterday.
  9. MLB 2022, where balls are strikes and strikes are balls.....
  10. And also the 0.7% outcome on Adames' first at-bat, apparently.
  11. Or not. Glad they figured out to hit their line drives on the ground and find a hole.
  12. No reason why Yelich should not attempt a steal right here.
  13. Not much the hitting coaches can do about tonight. We should easily be up 4-1 right now.
  14. I hate everything about this game. This ump has now missed two strikeouts that led directly to walks tonight.
  15. It'll probably end up coming down to which team can move the extra inning ghost runner to third and then drive them home via sacrifice.
  16. Forgive me, but did we get any indication from the labor negotiations as to whether an automated strike zone is likely and when it might be implemented?
  17. We are going to go to the 12th inning and the score will still be 0-0 at this rate due to the ump, the baseballs, and the weather.
  18. I refuse to entertain any criticism about the offense tonight. This is ridiculous. Thanks Manfred.
  19. Line drives all over the place and yet we have zero hits and zero runs.
  20. Without this year's deadened baseball, we're likely up 2-0 right now. Okay, maybe 1-0, Yelich's wasn't hit as hard as I thought.
  21. Yeah. Which is why I said they're probably waiting for that, but which nevertheless mildly disappoints me.
  22. Gotta say, I'm mildly surprised (disappointed?) that we haven't heard anything about bullpen moves following last night's near-debacle. After all, what is the point of having guys like Milner and Urena on the roster if they can't hold down a 6 run lead against a AAA-type lineup and force you to burn your already oft-used closer? Maybe they're waiting until the May when roster sizes contract, but I was hoping to give guys like Perdomo (Luis) and Sanchez a shot at fortifying the back-end of the bullpen.
  23. True. But thankfully the hitters currently on the roster are massively underperforming their expected stats, too. You figure that a return to the mean, along with the addition of Urias, should bring this offense to the middle of the pack offensively, which is right where they were last year. Now, we obviously saw where that got us, so hopefully Stearns has a move or two up his sleeve to bolster the offense and get it to a point where we're not relying on our pitchers to be perfect for us to win games in the postseason.
